It's basically a memorabilia gift shop you ever noticed when they're filming the show nobody speaks or leaves lol? It's all staged. It's still an interesting show and the history of the items is real but 90% is purely for show and the cast we see on TV don't work there day to day. It's pretty common knowledge and easy to find proof on Google and RUclips.

Engraving wasnt done by JP Coles personally so you cant authenticate the handwriting, only thing you could check is whether the engraving is old enough to have been done in the time period and that only corroborate's, doesn't prove. Unless he's got a bill of sale signed by the guy for the engraving work (with serial numbers included) or an established timeline of provenance that side of the story falls squarely in hearsay.
