    Diable is something to not underestimate even when their ships and hullmods are nerfed.
    They represent the paradigm of mobility and quality; they aim to punch through the line or flank the line, and their wanzers last longer than fighters in the face of a lot of PD cover that make them the best ones to surround slower frigates and destroyers. They have a distinctively lower dedicated bomber count, and instead certain ships perform the strikes and alpha strikes. Most of their combat ships are flankers and hit-and-fade types, and carelessness can result in opposing fleets being broken up and surrounded. They have more burst ammo weapons in their arsenal than an average faction mod, so they use flux capacity quickly to either dominate the flux match and allow wanzers to close in, or deliver spike damage when wanzers overwhelm the target.
    Wanzers are their most notable features, with their most OP cost having the hull integrity and firepower to match unshielded frigates without having to buy and deploy one. They are fewer in number, but compensates for firepower and survivability (for a fighter class size). What keeps them from being broken is their long replacement time, needing the wanzer servicing gantry to halve the time, and using that on a non-Diable carrier will cut deep into the ordinance budget and replacement rate, leaving only players who know what they are doing to bring the most potential out of wanzers outside the origin faction at the expense of the cons of specialization. EMP weapons are their direct counter if greater focus on stronger point defense compromises ship to ship combat, because no shields.
    Diable has a frigate-sized wanzer known as the Versant, capable of transforming that disables built in weapons and shields to have the speed to catch up to the faster frigates and still be able to survive bursts of return fire, making them good non-phase pursuit frigates.
    The Valiant wanzers are the only ones shielded, but they have shields that outclass even bombers and gunboats from other faction mods and rivaling Neutrino's corvette wings, and tops it with transforming to high speed mode to close in on targets with a slightly better max range than average.
    The Raven is the largest carrier based wanzer. For comparison, they are slower but replaceable mini-Hounds with more bite and competitive hull health.
    The Blizzaia wanzer is Diable's answer for the torpedo bomber role: hard hitting grenades while living longer than the whole piranha bomber wing.
    As for a faction that goes for mobility and numbers instead, there's Dassault-Mikoyan Engineering. Limited ammo missiles, lots of wings, more focus on carriers and faster and shorter-lived phase ships.

      Yeah the Wanzers are the best. Right now I am haveing the most fun with Strife wanzers that cost 9 OP good match of cost and firepower. Well I agree about the playstyle I am starting to have problems in Late game with the ships and most with the maelstrom. When there is a huge capital ship battle it gets deleted too fast (AI controled) for me it shined the most in the mid game and fell in love with it. Now I find my self replacing it with other ships. Even in post battle stats it lacks in performance. SAD face panda. Thanks for the comment man !

      Perhaps that I am knowledgeable, yet my expertise is in vanilla while my studies on faction mods still incomplete. With mod factions, it is less of a numbers game and more of boots on the ground while understanding what happens when faction specific weapons interact with ships outside the factions.
      Case in point: Blackrock Driveyards Vespa bombers; once used outside Blackrock ships, their energy torpedoes and their comparatively moderate OP cost for moderate firepower of twin bomber wings at the time I used them ended up becoming one of the most terrifying bombers in my dedicated bomber carriers. Their signature sound of a Fury torpedo screaming out of the rack burns in memory the most. Sure individually it does not hit as hard, but being energy, they are suited at both overwhelming shields and sinking ships.

      So how do you outfit a Pandemonium-class ship with wanzers? Which wanzer goes where?

  • @DenisLyamets
    @DenisLyamets 4 года назад +2

    I also used mostly 8-burn-speed ships until found that Oxes can add speed to all your fleet. Now i m just using 4 of them and always have 20 burn speed. Yes, Oxes make your ships to spend more fuel (because hyperspace demands fuel per distance, not per time), but you spend less supplies because you move faster and need less time to do you business. And you need less time to complete missions, so it also increases your income.

    • @Uran92
      @Uran92  4 года назад +1

      First time hearing about Oxes ... will look into them :D

    • @DenisLyamets
      @DenisLyamets 4 года назад +1

      @@Uran92 Yes, i was surprised too. When i played Sylphon mod, i found a capital ship which adds burn to fleet. I thought, it is mod-specific thing, because it looks kinda cheating (a little bit). But then people on forums tell me that vanilla has Oxes. So, it is legit.
      Imo, such thing shouldn't exist at all, because without it ships power (and entire fleets power) balanced by fleet's speed. With this thing there is no balance. Ok, may be fleet is limited to 30 ships, but who ever have problems with that? I dont know...
      On the other side: the game is not competitive (no PvP on the global map here, only single-battle PvP tournaments), so why make a player suffer more by cutting his speed?

      @Uran92  4 года назад

      @@DenisLyamets Yeah it is a sandbox game. Ih has sooo many options to brake the game. Players should have options. Oh I think that the nerfs come (in mods) because of tournaments that are happening ... but diable went tooo far .. sadly

    • @DenisLyamets

      @@Uran92 i didnt heared about nerfes. For me most of the ships are OK, because there is always Paragon and Doom. The only OP mod i heared about is Knight Templars, i guess...
      But while ships are +/- the same, there is some difference in their AI-friendliness. For example, Sylphon mod has one interesting capital (cant remember the name... Scintilla may be...). I put my agressive officer on it, and it never dies. Idk why :D
      Also, fighters and weapons can make a difference. Appro light has a lot of good energy weapons (How about 1000 dmg hit from 1200 range? It is 30 OP, and shoots every 4 seconds, and has average flux stats, but anyway it is kinda good). Or some stupidly OP fighters from other mods. Like something which you need to hit with 3 plasma balls to shot it down.

    How the hell did I miss this video!?
    Anyway, counter-argument for raising the Maelstrom burn speed: use a Diable Avionics Tug instead of Augmented Engines! And that will give you the missing OP you wanted.

    • @Uran92
      @Uran92  4 года назад

      about that ... right now cannot check the Diable Avionics and have no idea what that tug does :D ... but even without that ... sadly pandemonium and malestrom are still underperforming. Especially malestrom ... but must say I love pandemonium but these ships deserve imo some love back :D

      I remember when I first got the Malestorm, it was seriously my favorite ship in the game with it's insane mobility and Avionics mod.
      Now, I get that one of those had to go, but both?
      The mobility was fun on the surface level, but the Avionics mod was where the flavor was.
      I remember making amazing comebacks after getting jumped on by a big fleet, having a last stand with that ship was probably the most fun I have had in this game.

    • @tartiflette6428
      @tartiflette6428 4 года назад +1

      @@Chronically_ChiII The Avionics hullmod barely had any effect (it only slightly increased accuracy). Plus getting the targeting skill made it irrelevant since it had the exact same effect. I even broke the hullmod it in one update and nobody noticed! It wasn't something you built your ship around, or that you had to sttategize against, therefore it was just noise and needless complication on my side.
      As for the Maelstrom, the new system is actually a buff! Sure you can only move half as far now, but it is reliable instead of randomly getting stuck because of a debris, and it dissipates so much flux per use that you can get away with extremely flux heavy loadouts! You get pinned down at high flux? No big deal, you can dodge shots on the side and instantly lower your flux by 20% to get back in the fight with a vengeance.

      @Chronically_ChiII 4 года назад

      @@tartiflette6428 ok fine, maybe I'm just being blinded by sadness that I cannot do a 360° missile dodge on my maelstrom any longer.
      I will heed your words père Tartiflette.

      @@Chronically_ChiII You can do a 270 flip using the three charges, 360 with the proper skills and hullmods.
      I just played a full campaign using it as my flagship and only finally replaced it yesterday because I got all three Onslaught/Conquest/Paragon IBB ships and no officer left to put in them. (and even then I'm not sure if I won't get back into my trusted Maelstrom) It's definitely a strong ship that scales very well with skills.

    Diable is a Wanzer producing enterprise in Square´s Front Mission game series.
    Interesting idea of someone making a fleet themed upon it.
    Ships are completely made up, but the Wanzers could be from the Front Mission games, though i don´t have played all of them.

      I still like it but it is kinda nerfed ... but still good. It is still in my top 3 favourite ships in the game + mods. You have to be careful with flux and you can easily flux out. But when you find the balance mostly bunch of low flux weapons it is great
