I saw the Scorpions in 1982, July 31st, at the Prairie Capitol convention center in Springfield Illinois. Girls school opened and then it was Iron Maiden, great concert.

I saw them on the Blackout tour with Girlschool in Tucson. My whole band took off to Tucson to see them. We had a blast!! I was wearing my " Lovedrive" concert jersey. Lol.
They have so many great songs. One of my favorite was In Trance.
My, how time goes by. I'm 62 now but love me some Scorps. ❤

I loved the Scorpions when I was growing up! Such a great band. They kind of lost me a little bit in the 90s, but I really like their new album, Rock Believer. They're back to that amazing sound that they got in the late seventies early eighties. Great show bro as always! Keep On Keepin On. 🤘

The Scorpions were an incredible live band and as an opening act you would often hear people talking about them after the show as much as the headliner.
I saw them open for Rainbow when they were touring for Blackout and they seemed in top form and Klaus' voice was fine .
As a headliner I remember how the excessive risers and stage lights almost distracted from the music and I was glad when they scaled that back some but I was never disappointed .
I did not care as much for the next two albums after Blackout and the Uli Jon stuff are my favorites, especially In Trance and Tokyo Tapes.
Michael Schenker was also on Lovedrive and even did some shows with them for that one.

Saw this tour 2wice in SOCAL, they played at Anaheim Stadium or what we call the BIG A, they had so munch energy the crowd went freaking nuts, so nuts. the upper decks was going up and down , i was up there, i told my friends we need to get off of this, and we did, at the end i think of the 2nd song, they stopped the show for about 15 mi , and pleaded to everyone to not move the upper decks, and we all complied, they were freaking outstanding, the energy was way over the top, , and thats the scorps,
    ENERGY 😊😊

My first concert was Scorpions with Fastway opening. August 1984. Meadowlands Arena in East Rutherford, NJ. Love at First Sting tour. I have seen an amazing amount of shows since then (including Scorpions several more times), but this one still ranks as one of the best I've ever seen. Amazing live band! By the way, one singer who sounded great until the day he died was Ronnie James Dio (I saw Ronnie on just about every tour he did, solo and with Black Sabbath, starting with The Last in Line tour in 1984). I just saw Iron Maiden the other night and Bruce still sounds great, as does Rob Halford (I saw Judas Priest back in April). Klaus still sounds good based on the recent performances I've seen on You Tube (their most recent tours haven't come to my area, unfortunately). Great video! Keep 'em coming!

I saw them for the first time on the Blackout tour when I was 15 at the Toledo Sports Arena. I went to the show specifically to see Iron Maiden, I hadn't heard anything by them at that point other than The Zoo. They opened up with Blackout and I was immediately blown away. Needless to say I became a huge fan and have seen them multiple times over the years.

Thanks for this, Robert. Great vid. (And special points for getting all the name pronunciations correct). Saw the Scorps in 1984 w/ Bon Jovi opening and have seen them 20 times since. They are the best hard rock band in the world in my opinion as no other band does a better job at blending melodic phrasing with ballads and screeching rockers. This band has no peer in my opinion and it doesn't hurt that the guys are considered some of the nicest guys and the band in its current form has virtually zero disfunction.

The best concert I ever saw was the Scorpions. Love at First Sting Tour. I've saw a ton of shows too, I've just always said that from the night at the show, this was the best live act I'd ever seen. What great stories of Dokken and some Scorpions history. They're amazing, only wish I'd had seen Blackout.

I saw the Scorpions in 1988, honestly it was one of the most energetic shows I had ever seen. I love the Matthias era and Blackout is definitely a 10 out of 10 album, one of my favorites is In Trance. And just wanted to throw in I love your channel. 🤘

I was backstage via Rarebell at the ‘82 Seattle show along with Lemmy. Girl school/Iron Maiden/Scorps. The Scorps stayed at the Park Hilton and went sbout on their own and didn’t meet up until the show. Funny how they don’t get lost and can stay on schedule without phones back then 😂

On April 28th, 1984 I had a service call at the Pacific Amphitheater’s Cash room, where they have a state-of-the-art alarm system. After doing my pre-maintenance call on the system, the theatre manager asked if I wanted tickets to that evening’s show. I picked up my pal Doug, put an alarm shirt on him, & drove back in the service truck. Parked upfront, we waltzed in as the Scorpions were beginning their soundcheck. They spoke German to each other, and a roadie would tell the sound-man in broken English what they wanted, sound-wise. After powering on, we started point at Jab’s smoking Marshall. Meine yelled “Schnell, Schnell!!” as the Marshall blew up elegantly. Rudolph made a very overt clapping motion at the sound-man, like it was HIS fault! 😂 Roadie: “Rudy wants his mic on”. Sound-man: “He doesn’t sing on this tune.” R: “Turn his mic on…god..damn it..” 😂😂 Then as they sound checked “No one like you”, at the beginning of the 2nd half of the intro, Jabs goes to pull the top 2 strings on his Explorer…Ping!!! Both strings jumped the bridge! 😂😂😂. By this time I’m stifling a laugh, Klaus makes eye contact with me (Doug & I were the only 2 in the joint), & he started laughing..That’s when I lost it 😂😂 Then, they went on & played a great show! Bon Jovi opened, did maybe 45 minutes… Did their hit “Runaway”… Meh…But it was a very entertaining soundcheck, and the cheapest concert I’ve ever been to!!👍👍

Robert Plant is very noticeable by 1973. By the time of HoTH and The Song Remains the Same his high register was gone. But I love his voice on TSRTS. It added a new texture for the albums to follow.

As any casual listener to the Scorpions/UFO saga, you would know that: Michael Schenker played on several “Lovedrive” tracks, most notably “Coast to Coast” & “Another piece of Meat”…Also, Schenker was supposed to re-join the band, but after walking out on UFO, he also decided to leave the Scorpions. This is when Schenker, after having a break down, returned with “The Michael Schenker Group”…By “Blackout” Jabs was the lone lead guitarist, & able to carve his own niche in Scorpions history…

Thank you for bringing this up! It's hard to imagine how everything would have turned out had Michael truly embraced the idea of joining the band again. I love what Matthias brought to the group.

I saw them in 1982 right around the beginning of September. Girlschool opened followed by Iron Maiden touring behind Number Of The Beast. LoL, poor Girlschool was pretty much booed off the stage. This was in Portland Oregon and was my first real concert, we were from a small town in southern Oregon and my mind was just about blown lol, I was fifteen.

Ironically, it just may be time for Klaus to return the favor for Don Dokken now…as Don could really use some chord repairs. Don’s voice is long gone….Dokken’s voice WAS killer in the 80s.

Im only 2min AND 50s in but i have to say something. Don Dokken would have never worked if he had to do vocals on any scorpion's album. IMO...😮 Lovedrive is my favorite Scorpion album. Blackout is pretty damn good. China WHITE. Blackout. No one like you (until it was played so much) Dynamite. Arizona AND When the smoke is going down we're my least favorite...Love your topics. 💲👍
