That set me up for success. I should have gotten Cascade as a detergent. I mentioned my family almost moved to Cascade (a detergent) from a town called Colgate (a toothpaste.)
Hard to believe you'd pick out four random words as your first guess and figure it was the purple. Unless you managed to do the entire puzzle in your head. Besides the fact I would have guessed light blue was yellow or green at best (easy), green was about right and yellow should have been green or light blue.
Yep, I figured the puzzle out first. Unlike Art, I can't keep the words separated in my head. I will take a screenshot and use the edit function to mark the categories as I guess. Today I had 4 words I couldn't connect and figured they would be purple. Someone in the comments here or in a sub reddit mentioned a collection of verbs is usually green. I felt the drapings were easier than the birds. This was my thought process today. As a rule, I'm only so-so at the order. Sometimes when a puzzle is really tough for me, I'll write the words on 16 post it and move them around to try and group them. I've learned trying to solve the 4 categories first helps identify red herring. Although I have fat fingered my results a couple of times. One time, the bot told me that Puzzle was 1 in a million for uniqueness because of a fat finger mistake. Lol.
Days like today I am so glad that as a rule I don't even waste my time with fourth row purple bullshit, it is SO not worth it. I did solved this connections in less than 90 seconds, half the time it took me to do the Saturday jumbo "mini" crossword* , all thanks to the magic of not caring about information I don't need. *Hey, I never heard of 4 Down, OK?

Great job on my puzzle! I called it "Blast from the past" because 3 of the categories were based on things that have been discussed in the comments. 😊 (Yellow was based on that concept.) GREEN: You called it exactly! The day Andrea had SHIRE as the ending of a state (which had totally escaped me!) I mentioned that a SHIRE was a draft horse, and you said, "Ellen would know that." So I thought you would have SHIRE and CLYDESDALE, and you figured out the rest. BLUE: The day we had CASCADE in a puzzle, several people mentioned that they thought of the detergent. PURPLE: Before you started doing customs, from time to time I would put a Purple category in the comments. One was ENDING WITH WEAPONS. You solved it that time, too. This puzzle had different words, though. 😊 I had a qualm about ARROW, so I searched "Is an arrow a weapon?" Some sources said yes, and some didn't. So I figured I'd go ahead with it. But I wanted you to know I was aware of the issue. 🙂
I frequently have disappearing comments. I don't try to embed links, so I know that's not the problem. I have no idea why it happens. Many times, I will try posting the same comment again and again, and it will just keep disappearing. I suspect there is a malfunctioning AI bot monitoring the comments.
Petunia was Porky Pig's wife, Granny was the owner of Tweety Bird and Foxy was OG Looney Tunes that was pretty much the inspiration for Mickey Mouse. I'll admit I had to look up exactly who Foxy was.

I consider a wheelbarrow a workhorse, proverbially. 🟩🟩🟩🟩I figured a Shire was a horse. 🟦🟦🟪🟪I really had a hard time separating light blue / purple so I did felt what random guessing. I was going things that fall down, or things aligned in rows or columns 🟪🟦🟦🟦 🟦🟦🟦🟪After the failure, the reveal showed I was one away on the light blue so I took another stab at light blue I knew what didn't go into it 🟦🟦🟦🟦So my next guess was right but I had no idea what I was doing. 🟪🟪🟪🟪I had no idea what was left either.
