    I sadly lost my Wave when I put it down during a temporary repair while I was in a rush..drove off and when I realised it wasn’t there I went back and looked where I’d parked and it was gone. So need to replace it. Was just going to get another but a guy at work had a Surge which has made me think about that instead… both are great but the Surge definitely seems heavier duty and I love the replaceable blades etc.. thanks for the review!..

      I am women I bought the Surge for my hiking and treking. But The Surge is so big and bulky! It weights 350 grams alone and 588 grams witht bit kit and with ratchet driwer.
      I prefer to left Surge at home and hike with my Victorinox Handyman.
      Surge's scissors is so big and bulky- not for finger nails. For finger nails best used is Victorinox scissors.
      The only plus of Surge is changeable saw. You can change it to Leatherman's file or to much longer Bosch T saw for wood, metal or for ceramic, or for plastic.

    I kinda wish Leatherman would do a Surge XL... 12oz - 12.5oz is no big deal if your carrying it on a sheath. The weight issue is way over blown... You can tell some people haven't ever walked around with a 40+lb tool belt before. 12oz is not bad at all.
    I really like the Bosch T-shank adapter. I use it almost as much as the blade & pliers... The only thing I would add is a single bevel scraper. I really like the Surge platform

    I got me a Wave+ because of the weight. And because I don't use it on any "heavy duty" stuff.
    On your Surge you see why the black color is kind of stupid. As soon you start using your tool the black "color" wears quickly off. As the manufacturing quality at Leatherman can be better you see the silver scratches on your pliers.
    I would always recommend the silver multitool (not just from Leatherman) as the black stuf is always wearing off. Even on your fingers.
    A friend of me has a Surge. He is using it more for loosening bolts and stuff...so more heavy duty. He is also very happy with his.

      1/4 bit holder would make it perfect indeed..
      And actually, Victorinox is the best quality for a multitool. From own experience and I also think almost every reviewer comparing the two hands it to Victorinox in terms of quality.
      That said, I’d still have the Leatherman because I like some of the tools, mainly blades, more. But if it’s just quality you want, go Victorinox

    • @shawnpatrick1877
      @shawnpatrick1877 28 дней назад +1

      It's not the best quality, and unfortunately like all companies do eventually, they're resting on their name and past and the quality has been dropping. Victorinox quality and engineering is still far superior and they're an exception to the rule, even after a century. They also have a lifetime warranty and are a company that will still be around to honor it. Leatherman can openers, scissors and some of their other tools are barely usable garbage that they just throw on there as an afterthought to con you into thinking you're getting more for your money. There are budget multi-tools made in China with better scissors than what Leatherman gives you.
