Hey. I'm strongly costing buying a boat with an Envinrude ETEC 150 ... I'm very worried about the reliability of the engine, and servicing it.. what do you think of you where buying a boat that came with one today? Thank you!
Hello Andres.. i like etec engines. very strong and very quiet, good on gas and oil. check the Hrs of the engine. Service is not too crazy just spark plugs and lower unit oil, police and fire department still using etec here in south Florida. Now if you have a bad computer, injector or oil pump that can be very expensive but that is not common.. so like i said, check Hrs and see if they did any type of service..
@@jonscholl7105 it all depends of the engine.. the year, what it running when went under water?, fuel injection or carburetor.,,, sometimes a good cleaning and get the water out of the cylinders if enough to get it running again.. but sometimes there nothing that you can do..
had this engine on my boat since i bought it new in 2006, never had a major problem besides starter solenoid and fuel pump👍
