  • Welcome back to the next instalment of our Florida Summer Vacation Series.
This week we head a little further east, and visit Cocoa Beach, more specifically the Indian River separating the mainland and the barrier island.
The Bioluminescence here is caused by dinoflagellates or, bioluminescent plankton.

You would certainly enjoy the bioluminescent bay near my wife's hometown in Puerto Rico. They have glass-bottom boats that allow you a good view of the fish under the boat. Thanks for the trip. I had no idea that Florida has this phenomenon.

I will have to add that to our list! We haven't been to PR yet, but we are planning a cruise next year that will make a stop. I know it won't be long enough to see much, so we will certainly have to plan to go back!
