- Here's a side by side look at how I animated "Clash of the Cookie Crook!" using the Perception Neuron 3 from Noitom!
Created in just over a month and a half, this CGI 3D animated short made extensive use of motion capture in order to create the animation seen throughout the film. Made using Cinema 4D, Redshift, Substance Painter, Zbrush, and After Effects. Motion Captured using Noitom’s Perception Neuron 3.

It's always so awesome seeing the behind the scenes of every videos
Sick! love your works like always! I want to buy a noitom, looks you have pn3 and pn studio? I've seen some footage in this video that you were using pns :D
I mainly use the PN3 for all my motion capture so I'd recommend going with that one. I used the PN studio a bit in here for detailed hand motion capture, which it's great at. But it might not be worth the price increase. If you do get something from Noitom, you can actually use this discount code for 10% off: awry10
@@KrisET Thank you for your advice! I decided to buy PN3 pro ,thank you so much :D
Great man, how can you remove noise and flickr? I loved that❤❤❤❤
The best tool I have for removing noise from a shot is Neat Videos noise reduction plugin for after effects. For removing flickering, I use Deflicker
You should use actual objects during the motion capture, like swords at 0:36 and a plate of cookies at 0:52
Sometimes I do use some props, but sometimes they can tend to make the movements harder to do since having two larger swords could make it tricky to move around. A plate of some kind would have been something I could have done though!
We are waiting for new videos
There may be a new very short one coming soon!

@@billalorra890 It's out now actually! It's not super long but ruclips.net/video/hPxDi4K2hos/видео.html
Very cool! By the way, the sensor you're wearing seems to change during the video, do you use two different types?
For this video I did! Most of the time I use the perception neuron 3, but then for the giant hand, I would use the perception studio with the studio gloves. Since those gloves can track finger movement pretty well.
@@KrisET The perception neuron 3 looks very simple and nice! I'm looking for a mocap suit to use when creating 3d animations. how long have you been using it? I would love to hear your impressions of using it.
@@toyxyz3917 I've been using the perception neuron 3 for around three years now and have found it incredibly useful! It's good at handling some of the crazier running or falling movements I throw at it without freaking out like some other suits. Of course, it can't possibly compare to the 7-10K xsens suits in terms of not requiring any fixes to the animation. But it works great for the things I do. So when you watch my films or the things I post on instagram, most of that animation is raw data straight from the suit with just some performance adjustments. All that to say, you get very stable animation out of it.
The only thing to keep in mind with any suit is keeping feet locked to the ground. The perception suits software has a feature that helps with this (joint displacement), but I can't use it with my current workflow. Maybe you'd have more luck!
@@KrisET Thanks for the detailed answer! What are the differences between PN3 and PN studio besides finger tracking?
@@toyxyz3917 Well besides price, I believe the studio is higher fidelity in terms of how much information is captures. So it can handle faster movements without losing that detail. Higher FPS basically. I also think the studio has a more stable connection method perhaps. But it is the older of the two devices, so the perception neuron likely takes some of that technology as well. I'd check their site to see the differences. But generally, spending more on a studio isn't something most people need to do.
