"The miracle is represented in several Orthodox churches. The most famous is that from Dečani Monastery in Serbia, painted around 1350 (scene 12). Saint Demetrius strikes Johannitsa (Kaloian), who is about to fall off his horse, with his spear. The scene is also depicted in later, 15th- to 17th-century mural paintings in the churches of Krokeia (Laconia), Morača (Montenegro), Temska (Serbia), as well as in the church dedicated to the Mother of God in Dragalevtsi, near Sofia."
