    Hi! Could you talk a bit more about each studio? Like what are they alike, differences, pros, cons? I'm applying for Fall 2022 and I'm super excited! Thanks!

    Hi, Gretchen. I'm a student at pratt and I'm researching performance as well as performance spaces for my thesis. So (of course) I'm researching Tisch. but it's been really hard to do field trips lately. I learned that you have a lot of studios! And all have their own teaching styles. But I'm having a really hard time understanding exactly how they differ, especially spatially! Can you provide some additional information? Like pictures or something? if that's ok?

    Hey, I just watched your video and I am currently in the process of applying to transfer to tisch for drama. Would it be possible for us to have an in depth discussion about professors and syllabus outlines. I feel like it would be good material to add to my why nyu essay. Love your video by the way!

    So you're going into your junior year at NYU Tisch? Are you continuing with the Atlantic studio for your 3rd year? I was just accepted into the Atlantic Acting Studio as a freshman in the fall! I'd love to chat with you!!

    I looked on the NYU website and looked at all of the studios and I noticed that there was a playwriting studio. So if you audition for acting could you potentially get placed in the playwright studio even though you auditioned for only drama?

    • @bestgretchen754
      @bestgretchen754  5 лет назад

      Hey!
      Yes, so there is a studio called Playwrites Horizons in Tisch. However (despite the name), they are most definitely an acting studio. Their program has a more holistic or open approach in that they look at acting, playwriting and directing during their curriculum. However, they are an acting studio within Tisch and comparable to any of the other acting studios in regards to training. In their later years of training they offer the opportunity to pursue one of those three disciplines in more depth. It's a fantastic studio, truly. Hope that makes sense/helps!
      Best,
      Gretchen

      That's so exciting congratulations! You'll be in great hands at ETW - is there any specific info/questions I can try to answer? I'm less familiar obviously but still know some/others who could answer. Welcome to NYU tisch!

      @@bestgretchen754 thanks for replying, I have a couple specific questions ! I've heard ETW is one of the smaller studio, I was wondering how small exactly. I'm also confused about the location of the studio, I couldn't find anything about it online. Lastly, do you know if there are a lot of international students in that studio, or in Tisch drama in general ? I'm french and I know that NYU has a lot of international students but I haven't seen any in that specific major. It's okay if you can't answer all of these questions but if you have any other random information you'd like to share about ETW I'm all ears !

      @bestgretchen754  4 года назад +1

      @@ombelinedepaz7399 I'm not sure on the size but none of the studios are vastly larger or smaller than another. Your ETW first year class will be between 30-60 students probably. However, you will then be broken down into smaller studio groups that you'll do training with 10-20. ETW is super fortunate in that they are housed within the main Tisch building which in right on campus near WSP at 720 Broadway. There are international students in all of our studios! There aren't as many international as American but I studied with students from many different countries. France included! I was raised in Colorado but the first 5 years of my schooling were taught all in French and I continued studying till college. I'm close to fluent. At one point my friend Zoe who is from France and I were able to work on a scene together in French. So don't worry you'll be in good hands an NYU/ETW. I think the biggest thing for any of the studios in the first year is to trust. Trust the process, trust your ensemble, and trust yourself. It won't all make sense right away so just trust and keep going!
      Best,
      Gretchen
