I just got approved for the bonvoy boundless with 3 free night certificates after $3k spend. Just waiting on the mail now. Can’t wait to save on future trips!!
I’m currently at 4/24 until august 2021 and I picked up 3 chase cards this year. The Freedom, CFU and recently the CSP. I sorta want a hotel card next but I don’t know anything about hotel/airline cards. Videos like this are helpful because I don’t have favorite hotels any anything, so I’m basically a free agent 😂 not going to apply for anything for around 3-6 month (I need a to chill), but I’m trying to do my research now. I want to get in the door with Amex, but I’m not sure if I should use my 5/24 slot to do it 🤔
@@MarkReese yeah I only started my “credit card hobby” in May. I randomly watched a RUclips video and I became obsessed 😂😂 I picked up 3 chase cards since then since then.. CFU in May. CF in August and CSP a couple weeks ago for the 80k bonus. I made sure to wait 3 months between each one... but yeah I will definitely reach out. This is one of my favorite channels, and I’ll make sure to use your referral links in the future
🤔 I live in hawaii want to go other island I have 5of 50k points certificate and 2nights in hawaii showing me 265K points so I guess I can’t use it ? Even I would have 6 certificates we can’t combine let’s say 1 night 70000 points and use 2 of 50k certificates? So basically we have to go cheaper hotels to redeem 50k certificates right ? So I guess I have to pay cash again 🤪
Marriott allows you to 'top off' a certificate with up to 15K additional points. So a 50K certificate can be combined with 15K points for a total redemption value of 65K points 👍
Also, if I have the OG Bonvoy card from Amex which used to be the SPG card, can I still get the Boundless card from Chase? I've had the Amex Bonvoy card since Oct 2018.
Hi David - you cannot use points + certificates on the same booking. To get around this, simply book 2 reservations or more, then have the front desk combine them when you check in so you can remain in the same room 👍
I know this is older video but did you wait the 2 years to get both signup bonus for brilliant and boundless or just sign up to get started on the certificates? Two years seems like a long time to wait for the signup. Thanks
No I didn't wait. There was a very brief window (about 1 week) to apply for the Bonvoy Brilliant while the Marriott-SPG transition was going on (and the SPG Luxury card was being converted to the current Bonvoy Brilliant card). I applied during that window and got approved back in Aug. 2018.
Hey mark , question does the anniversary free night in your experience take up to 8 weeks to appear on your account? Also is the anniversary day the exact day you open the account? Just wondering if the anniversary free night (12 mos)expires on the exact anniversary day or like by the end of the month of your anniversary date . Sorry I know this is an old video & you are probably on vacation lol.
Hey there! (a) In my experience, the FNA certificate gets issued _within_ the 8-week period. I haven't actually counted the days / weeks, but it seems to appear faster than that. (b) Yes, the FNA certificate lasts 1 year from the date it's issued and has an expiration date of +/- a day from your anniversary. So if you receive your certificate on Nov. 15, 2021 then it'll expire on Nov. 15, 2022 (again +/- a day or so).
Best option at the moment is to book two individual nights as separate bookings. When you check it, you can ask the front desk to combine the reservations so you can stay in the same room 👍
Hey Mark, I understand that we can pay via certificate or points for pure stay only, is there any option like stay along with dinner and breakfast to pay via points or breakfast/lunch can be paid via points...if yes how can we do that?
Hi Amol - nope, only room rates are available via certificates or points. I haven't seen any of the packages that include other extras available for point redemptions.
@@MarkReese I'm not seeing it on android. And it wasn't showing on website yesterday. Perhaps a temporary glitch on website, but I think android app is apparently inferior to Apple one.
Hey Martin! You'll have to book 2 separate reservations. Then upon check-in at the hotel, you can ask them to combine the reservations so you can remain in the same room 👍
@@asian480 - A Bonvoy account was likely created upon approval. I recommend contacting Amex to inquire about it. Then call Marriott if the Amex team can't help.
Hey is this card still worth it? Boundless. Now they’re giving out 75k points I believe, a free night every anniversary. Also, when they say they’ll give you 15 free elite night credits, will that give you a free night?
Hey Jhon! The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless card can definitely be worth it (I have it myself!), but make sure it's worth it _for you._ The top 3 reasons to get the card are: (a) The signup bonus (b) The annual Free Night Award worth up to 35K points (c) 15 elite night credits each year. // The 15 elite night credits are not redeemable for a hotel room, rather, they're to help you achieve higher levels of elite status. Normally, every time you stay a night in a Marriott hotel, that counts as an 'elite night credit' toward the next tier. So by getting 15 credits from the card, it's like staying an additional 15 nights every year without having to travel 😁 Silver Elite Status requires 10 nights (so you'll get that automatically with the Boundless card). Gold Elite Status requires 25 nights (so you'd only need 10 more nights in a year to reach this level if you have the credit card). Etc. // Does all that make sense? 💯😃
@@JhonGia - The 3 nights are in the form of a digital 'certificate' worth up to 35K each. They expire after 1 year. So the main difference is this: The 75K points offer will give you points that never expire (as long as you have account activity every 24 months). The 3 Night Certificate offer is worth up to 105,000 points, but they expire after 1 year. // Which offer is best for you? 😃 (I'll check my link...)

Thanks Elvis! 👍
Thanks for showing the multiple nights option
Of course!
They'll cancel your reservation as soon as a paid customer needs a room while fully booked. Bonvoyed!

Just subbed. Should I apply for a Marriot cc from Chase or from Amex?

How long does it take to get the cert after you pay the yearly fee?
It can vary. Amex says usually 8-12 weeks after your renewal month.
