  • Here is a very sweet running Morris 8, Series 2 from 1937.
As a starter classic, this is perfect. Easy to maintain, in good structural condition, recent engine rebuild, really good interior and carpets.
This Morris has had a lot of money spent on it in recent time and it comes with a large file of invoices and records. New 6v battery just ordered. The starter motor is a bit lazy, but will probably be cured by the fitment of the new battery. I will update.
The body is very straight and rust free apart from some bubbling around the roof gutters. Paintwork is not great - it is faded and been touced upover the years, but it suits this era of car perfectly, To repaint it would spoil it. It won't look out of place at a club meet, and it runs and drives very well.
A great little classic car, that can be improved if required over time.

I love that modern looking Rad Grill. I thought they were the post -war ones. My first car was a 1935 '8', with Honey Comb Rad. I was forever digging out the Flies and other debre.

Actually a Series II. I had a 1938 on the road in 1971, Croydon registered DOY 477. Very quick in the South London traffic of the day. Believed to have been scrapped, alas, after my custodianship.
A Series I (EXO 714 I think) rescued later by me survives - preserved by a Register member.

    Nice, but it's a Series 2, not a Series 1.
