With 3 different flanger modes, ranging from spacey through-zero to a massive and modern quadruple flanger, 3 different wave shapes, tap tempo, expression and cv in and an insanely cool degrade mode, which lets you introduce lo-fi bit-crushed textures into the modulation, it quickly becomes apparent that the Oblivion isn’t your run-of-the-mill flanging device.
This is a flanger that seeks to predict the future instead of recreating the past, and I absolutely love it for it!

I've owned an Electric Mistress, an 80's Ibanez Flanger and an ADA Flanger. All were quite excellent in their day. This sounds like another great one . Awesome work Stephan.

Great demo! You really explore "out of the box" possibilities here. Not crazy on flangers, but this sounds more versatile and interesting than most flanger pedals I've heard. Plus, bit crush is always an instant win for me.
I'm not crazy about flangers either, but I love the Oblivion. Like I say in the beginning of the video, this is not your run of the mill flanging device. This thing is a sound designers dream flanger. So much fun! And yes, that degrade function is where it's at!

I’ve said “I hate flangers” a lot of times. And I still stand by it. Classic flangers aren’t for me. But some creations stand out and take flanging to new unexpected creative places. Those flangers include the EQD Pyramids, OBNE Flat Light and now the SolidGoldFX Oblivion. So I guess there’s 3 flangers I like now 😊 Happy you liked the demo 🙏

Ahhhhh that's crazy, the guitar part is as good as the synth moment. I think that each pedal has a kind of specific music style that goes along with it and you seem to know in advance which will be the best example.
Please never stop your demos though you seriously put our budgets at risk.

I had a strict, long running "no more side jacks" policy for pedals until I heard the SolidGoldFX Apollo II phaser. Bought it. Have bought 12 more of Greg's pedals, all with side jacks. LOL. I guess my 14th SolidGoldFX will have top mount jacks! Greg - please don't reissue those other pedals with top jacks. My wife will hunt you down.....

I’m exactly in the same situation, bud. I’m typically not into flangers, but when they’re as fun and innovative as the Oblivion, then I don’t mind reconsidering my position on flange. This thing is awesome! 😊

Thank you so much, man! I use Aston mics. My Revv D20 is mic'd with an Aston Stealth and my Fender Deluxe Reverb is mic'd with an Aston Spirit. I also used an Aston Origin back in the day when the channel was starting out. You just can't go wrong with Aston. You get incredible value for the money.

Funnily enough, I pondered myself the question when I was playing the Boss Phaser, probably PH-3? with stage selection, years ago, when I thought... If phasers can have multiple stages... Why don't flangers have that? And this pedal makes us ponder: why wasn't there a multistage flanger like this before?
Hey Stefan, like always great demo. Would you say this pedal has decent chorus/vibe capability with the regens at 0 or does it only half-heartedly do chorus/vibe and is mostly a super-flanger at heart? Torn between this and the Digitech Nautila. Thanks!
I think this pedal does lovely chorus tones. Especially in dual flange mode. Maybe not as shimmery as your standard chorus, but definitely lush and wide 😊

I am curious. With it set more to chorus type sounds, can it pull off something similar to the Mr.Black Double-Chorus?
I honestly don’t know. I’ve never tried that pedal. But you can definitely get some lush and unique chorus-type sounds out of the Oblivion. Its more subtle modulation types are way more interesting to my ears than classic chorus
This pedal has so many good sounds in it that the lack of presets it's a genuine punishment.
Well, luckily it’s super intuitive to use, so it’s really easy to dial in new sounds on the fly. But yes, it is chock-full with great tones 😊👍

One isn’t better than the other. It all depends on needs and wants when it comes to features and sounds, since they offer such vastly different Flanger experiences.
