This video was so helpful. Not many people can tell to sign with a mother agency first
The first agency a model signs with is given the designation as their mother agent, with the ability to place them at different agencies, and get a 10% commission from the other agencies on every job the model books. There are some mother agents who focus entirely on scouting, which is common in smaller cities.

i've been dreaming to become a model since i was little. im 13 and my mom doesn't want me to do it young. she says i can wait til im 18. i want to move to australia or new york when im 18 and watching your videos cure my boredom everyday because i can't start yet.
hey until then, i suggest getting popular on instagram while u wait ! you’d get good experience taking ur own photos and scouters try to recruit ppl with a lot of followers, like 5-10k+
I've been helping my daughter network, get free photos (and pay for her photos), learn about scams, the biz, her type, gettg pd for background/talent work, and public transit in the mkt. I can't imagine waiting til 18 and not knowing what I know/having a start.
Frrr i haven't told my parent that i want to be a Model tho bc i have the feelings they will scream at me but i wanna move to New York when i am 18 to continue to learn and be a Model

There are a few high fashion models who are beneath 5’9 but I think for them to accept you, you’ll have to REALLY blow them away🤧
You can still model for them at 5’3. You just might not be able to do runway modeling🤧
it’s not that bad! i’m super tall so not a lot of guys like me and i get insulted a lot. i cant wear heels around a lot of people too

There is a thing called petite model they cast short models too try it if you want to do:)
@@serene2850 Modeling agencies don't have petite divisions. They encourage shorter girls to get into commercial modeling/ the talent division.
@@jamilgotcher5456 That's why I'm looking into height increase surgery to be a model. I saved 200K so I can do it twice. Modeling is everything I want in life. If I can't be a model, I can't live.

When i was like 1-2 years old my mother was on a walk with my two brothers, my dad, my sister and me. An agent walked up to us and started saying how pretty our family was and wanted to recruit some of us i guess. My mom and dad declined for all of us because they didnt want to give away our childhood. While I respect their decision, I have always wanted to model and ever since hearing that story I have been a bit doubtful for some reason. I guess knowing that I had the chance back then and didnt really have the opportunity to say yes just really upsets me. Anyways, I am 13 now and still have not told anyone about having an interest in modeling. Im not sure how to start or even if this is what I should do but I really want to try it out. Hopefully I will get this opportunity again sometime. I’m really glad I could share this with whoever read it. Thank you!❤
My god, when you said you were upset you "missed out" i thought you'd be in your 30s in a dead-end office job, or something, but you're 13????? Being a model since you were a baby, when you didn't have a choice about it AT ALL, would have definitely give you a very different perspective. You could have ended up hating modeling like most child actors. So starting as a teen, when you have more of an idea of what you want sounds more mentally healthy. I'd say you're at the perfect age to start looking into it.

I totally agree with you, I know I would definitely have a different perspective on it by now if I were to have started out that young and I am glad that my parents let us go our own path instead of forcing us into a program that would probably make me miserable to be honest. I guess I just wish that I was old enough to have made the decision for myself. But like I said before, I am very happy to live comfortably without being forced into adulthood at such a young age. :)

How old are you and how tall are you? Do you have clear skin? I got my daughter signed with IMG and I'm a former high fashion model who modeled Paris Haute Couture and Tokyo.

I do not know if I am pretty enough to become a model, I love fashion and models being interconnected to create art.

I get randomly asked to be in fashion shows in malls and when I’m out grocery shopping. I constantly am asked if I model as well. I modeled in 3 shows, and did a couple of shoots. Just never took it serious. I’m 6’2, pushing 6’3 and I’m in shape, (I played college football)..I just don’t know how to get myself started 🙃

You're better off signing with a local mother agent than going it on your own. Bentley is an exception and not the rule. A mother agent or modeling industry professional can evaluate you and determine which step is best for you to take next.

Believe it or not, a majority of supermodels have stretchmarks. Naomi Campbell, Josephine Skriver, Jasmine Tookes, Adriana Lima, just to name a few. Almost all women have stretch marks to a degree. We are all human.

I live in Virginia and went to a modeling agency and got in but me and my mom didn’t really trust it. My dream job is to be a runway model but I’m 5’4 so I know it would be extremely hard

Question when you switch agencies does your mother agency do the switch for you or do you have to do it ur self? If you do it urself, how?

I'm not a model but I'm pretty sure it depends on the job... If you are a highly paid model like Gigi Hadid you would probably have a full time job- But i'm not sure...
