- WarGaming announced they found a new cheat mod in the game. Have they banned everyone using it and stopped it?

WOT Arty Noobs has thousands of Arty players and we've noticed more than a few cheats and rigging. We've posted these on our channel. Just recently one of our members from Brazil noticed a clan that was rigging the battle by parking their heavies under the flag to make them easy targets for their clan members in Arty on the other team. They even did it in return by having members on both teams! After reporting it to Wargaming, they were banned permanently. The video is on the channel.
We've also found cheats that were entering the battle on both sides in the same Arty. We shared this with other content creators so they could spot these cheats. They would kill the Arty on the opposite team (that was controlled by them) and then cycle through each hidden tank so they could blind kill them. The cheat had 3MOE and then boasted his achievement by sending me the video.
However, they did not take into account my scepticism that anyone could achieve so many blind shot kills in a battle without any clue to where the enemy was. We found out that this player was doing it more than once with multiple accounts. He's also been banned permanently.
Cheating ruins the game. Every player deserves a fair chance to win.
By the way - thank you for featuring so many players that also contribute to our channel. Sometimes it's the ordinary Joes that provide the best games.

No evidence of cheating in that first game. the player was just pissed off and not recalling the sequence of events correctly.

Haven't played in ages but there's been so many times where I've blind-fired just due to map knowledge, not even spotting, and got hits. I would've been mad if it had been me and wouldn't be surprised if players thought I was cheating.
that's fair enough and i always try the opportunist blind shot but when you get 4 hits in a row while on the move and remaining unspotted, then it's an issue!
All mods should be removed and banned.
on the day when we have all the important mods included in the game, im would be fine whit it.. before that, nope xD a lot of mods were already added as a standard function in Wot but Girls and Panzer Subtitles, Extended Tech Tree, In Garage Armor Inspector and Serial Number Changer I would not want to do without them xD
But if that happens you won't get to have your star wars voicelines and pin up girls on your loading screen! If you're a bad player and die in most games you play you immediately blame the game, it's insane
This game is now a flaming dog turd that people keep trying to stamp out. All you do is get turd on your shoes and the flames still burn. The game needs to be completely burned down, no mods, all new maps and a fundamentally different approach to in-game economy. Until then, it is just a stat-shaming frustration generator for the rank and file players. The only redeeming feature, to me, is that Claus continues this channel that is enjoyable to watch. There is nothing left about this game that is fun to actually play.

Blind shooting is well known, and often we know where the spotters are!
It doesn't matter, WG has a track record of bending the rules to suit themselves... they are putting on a good show to deflect suspicion. The game is broke and will never get fixed ever.

No, WG has a track record with trying to keep players playing their video game. Not many online games like to go out and ban the players. It's the players cheating the game, not the game cheating the players. WG wants MORE playing, not less. They will give players 'chances' to correct the issue 9 times out of 10, unless it's way over the top. Like rigging the game. YOU the player know the rules and the mods available. They have allowed the mods after a long debate about them to keep players playing. The players wanted them. So, if someone creates an illegal mod and players use it, it's their own fault. But almost every game on the internet will think long and hard on punishment. They need players playing their game. Stop being ridiculous. WG isn't allowing cheaters, they want a solution to stop the cheating and keep the players. Just surprised they haven't removed the use of mods yet. Which they could do at any time. They'd just loss a large chunk of their player base if they do so.
Just look at those playing. It's around 11k here everyday. That report says they banned almost 2 thousand of their players. Do the math.

@@bettyrose959 In 2 years I have watched the NA server go from 30k plus players at prime time to about 12k or 13k now. WG must figure it out for sure. New players are coming and leaving very soon.
I've been shot many times without being spotted at all. Yesterday I had 4 games in a row that we lost 4 or less to 15. It all happened after 8pm central time.
Well, the players themselves whined that the game was uninteresting because: it was slow, the artillery penetrated as soon as you entered the field, there was little equipment, etc. Is everything okay now? ;)
WG should block people from typing after they are dead for reasons 1) dead can't talk 2) don't give away info 3) avoid rage comments. Why don't you implement that, WG?
Based on the gameplay, the first guy is approximately 1100 wn8, and wouldn't have a clue what's cheating and what's not, so while their frustration is understandable, it's without substance.
Looks to me that he watched a video on RUclips, and is doing what they did expecting the same results. Not realizing the ISU watched that same video and shot the bush the guy sat in in the video.
Just witnessed the cheat still being used on the NA server. I was in my ELC, when a T56 teammate start getting hit over and over by an IS3. After the IS killed the 56 I ran over to spot where the IS was located. The IS was far outside his max view range and just farmed the T56 and a Renegade, unit I spotted him out. Sent the video over to WG and reported the IS.
Then just last night I watched 5 heavies just sit in the spawn well after the match started. I thought something very odd, so I went over in my Lep 1 and hide in some bushes. I BC rolled right up and started farming the heavies. I waited about 30 seconds to see, if the heavies moved. Nothing, so I rolled out after the BC unloaded and I killed him. The remaining heavies never moved, but I did have an AMX come to my spot and just push me for the rest of the match. Sent the video to WG and reported both instances during the match.
So, some cheating is going on, but I see it mainly on the NA server after about 1am eastern.
Many many players are very good and we all know this, but something stand out and need to be reported.
I just want Wargaming to name the names of these accounts that have been banned. Like people from Missouri say, "SHOW ME!" So show us all and not just let them disappear with out posting the Wall Of Shame Names!

I agree that the accounts banned for using cheats or illegal mods should be hung out to dry... however imagine if they did that to the accounts that got banned for rigging when they were infact not!? If they accuse people of rigging and then have to clean up their mess by lifting the ban from innocently banned accounts (even big streamers and cc's) just because their algorithm was a hot mess. The damage would have already been done by then!

Wargaming still doesnt realize that self mutilation hurts. Greed (allowing cheats) got Wargaming nowhere but a few extra necessary dollars/CHUMP change. They are so run by the illuminatti. With illuminatti values.
They can only review manually players, anti-cheat don't do anything. It detects only some free cheats.
I had those games. My crews are 4 to 6 perks, some medium tanks with good camo, but I get shots while driving or stationing behind a couple of bushes, but the six senses do not go off.
The CHEAT is rampant. I get farmed most games without ever being detected.
Respectfully, I think you're coping. In the thousands of games I've played as a good player I haven't seen anything suspicious, perhaps you should get a better understanding of spotting mechanics or just not sit in obvious bushes

The cheating has gotten worse. The new vids just made them more popular.
It is a little difficult to know with any certainty, as now we know this mod exists you look out for things that are not quite right, but must admit I have had some times when hit without being spotted and continues until get into cover if lucky or die. Never easy to tell if you are trying hide in a bush though in case someone just shoot that direction.
I watch Goose, Dez, QB, Skil etc all hit blind shots regularly. Map knowledge, limited bushes, being detected makes it kind of obvious where you are being spotted from.
There should be little to no "map knowledge" except what you see during the countdown. That is the one aspect of this game that makes it impossible for new players to compete.
It's been said and I agree... So long as WG allows mods (especially 3ed party), there will be cheaters using that open door.
WG should BAN ALL MODS! Just stop every mod in WOT. And then, cheaters will be just flat out obvious... "Case closed!"
If cheats are a part of WGs profit margin, then WG will never be a legit gaming outlet and nothing more than a video gambling front in which the house always wins...
That solves part of the problem still doesn’t address rigging the matchmaking to farm missions

Isn't is (mostly), when clans are divided between the opposing teams in a match and then they either "A," help spot for their clan mates and/ or friends on the other side, simply by reporting their locations using Discord, or Teamspeak.
Or, "B," one side is simply willing to be killed off by their clanmates allowing their HP to be mined in favor of their clan or their buddies...
And that's done without using any mod.
Over the years, (now 10+), I've been in several clans. And most of the time, it's a fair enough match.
But 'most,' is obviously not 'all.'
@@davidwaxter66 To create an algorithm that could be able to detect the difference between actual rigging and the phenomenon of Count-Ins that are used (or have been used) by several streamers and cc's should infact be quite simple. But the version that they rolled out on the 13th of September was just a hot mess as it didn't take into account that real rigging consists of some tanks on one team doing nothing and some tanks on the enemy team just farming... not only in one game but over and over again! They literally just checked if certain players came across the same players in a lot of battles which in itself is not rigging, if everyone actually does something! Plus that would affect every smaller streamer with a small enough community to make it so that they could get into more battles than for example everyone from Skill's viewers trying to get into his games... a lot more diversity there!
You're right, Claus. Not only was he spotted in the bush, once he'd waited 10 seconds he went back to the exact same spot. All the ISU-122 had to do was shoot the "last spotted" flag on the mini map - which is exactly what TDs do. That he hit 20 of 46 shots, 43.5%, at 300m+ is about right.
Overall he's an average Tier 6.5 player who was punching above his weight class at Tier 9 and got smoked. He's just a 43% W/R in his Bat Chat 25t AP.
Inevitable when players know cheating is going on there will be those who "cry wolf." The view range for higher tier tanks is very different to lower and mid tier. Regular high tier players will know this, but those newer to high tier game play may not.
I think WG needs to continue on the path they are on now. Cheating is a problem in a lot of games. RDR2 Online is a perfect example of players cheating so much, the game died because of it. By the time RockStar reacted to the cheating, the player base had already left, never to return. I hope WG does something before the players just leave.

Yesterday a Grille 15 killed me like this and farmed team mates.
They sure are. Had game in ELC EVEN 90 just 2 days ago in which I wasn't spotted, but they kept finding me and killed me after 4 shots. Was quick and lopsided loss

Few days ago, a teammate reported me and called me a cheater because I killed an enemy blind in the same bush he was spotted in... When you are in a typical bush you gonna be blind shot if the enemy team has brains...
I imagine the delay WG is talking about allows them to gather enough evidence to ban permanently. It would be difficult to put a time frame on that. I think it would depend on how frequently the player actually cheats.
WG is trying to keep numbers. Permanently banning the player base isn't something video games want to do, ever. They need people playing too. They may see if it works itself out. Not all the players using mods know the 'new' mod they are using is cheating. They downloaded it out of the same mod package. Some of those players come to realize that mod is a cheat and remove it, or it is removed by the creators supplying the mod. I have a feeling they wait to see if certain mods continue to be an issue.

Well, after that video with cheaters I also thought there were cheaters like that, but it was just one sneaky M5 Stuart that kept us spotted whole time...
On Malinovka there are some obvious positions where the spotters will be positioned. I have been hit by blindshots in that area, and if I have nothing better to do will fire at these bushes when I am not the light tank sitting there.

Happy Friday! This was indeed no BS from Claus. He called it as he saw it. Which in this case, as it is.
It's WGs own fault allowing mods, Kinda obvious this was gonna backfire badly.
Also saying they'll allow cheaters to continue playing..for an unspecified period of time as you say only gives the "sensible" cheats time to use the cheat less than they were and not be so easily caught.
Until we know for certain WG has got rid of this mod.

Yes they are & I reported a player again called Copiumdeficiency who ended up being on the same team & the entire team were raging because he was sat in his EBR 105 blind shooting & killing the enemy that haven't yet been spotted. Got the most damage caused in a game despite sat on top of the hill for the entirety of the game shooting what looked like into nothing, but was clearly hitting the enemy tanks.
But reported him along with bunch of replays I got off members of my own team & the enemy team who responded & gave them to WG, and their response was. We don't take action on individual reports of cheating, we leave this to our automated system to flag & we then ban them in the next wave. That's fine, but I first reported this guy who was on the enemy team 3 months ago who blind shot & killed me despite not being spotted & moving across the map out away from the front line.

It is still going on in my opinion, on the EU server. Yesterday I had a very strange game. I drove away in my light tank out of the max view range and not spotted for 10 sec. but they kept hitting me. Never experienced that before.
Yesterday i just played a few games after several month of a break and had just a a guy shooting undetected teamplayers.
WG riggs the game themselves, u think they care about some minor cheaters? Every game can be programmed to benefit the owner of it. Same as gamble machines.
I played for a couple of hours this morning. Had a couple of games that were absolute blowouts within the first three minutes.

One blind shot hit or more if there is a lot of blind firing at your position doesn't indicate cheating. I have been getting hit a lot with solo blind shots over the last few months and I'm not talking about sitting in a single known spotting bush, but in 50-100 meter long rows of bushes. Either really good luck on the part of the shooters or the cheat users are getting less greedy.
I wonder if their delay on taking action is to maybe try and catch more idiots using cheats. I have been a victim of getting farmed when I was never spotted. Maybe remove all mods would be nice. Thanks for the videos Claus!
Honestly I could not tell, I load my rides up for maximum detection and crew perks and I am constantly walloped by invisible enemies. So how would I be able to tell?
Remove the mods. Gameplay is more than sufficient without them. The fact they acknowledge this is occurring tells us they cannot monitor this. Easy to fix - remove the mods. Lose a few % players for a few weeks but long term more people will stay…. This is a new cheat until the next comes along (or already is here but who knows).
I feel as though I am kicking a dead horse with this....however....until they close their source code and eliminate/ban mods from their platform period, there's always going to be a latest and greatest cheat(s) that hits the servers and runs amuck. This will be a never ending cancer until they take this draconian approach to the situation and end it once and for all...which will suck if they do because I don't know how I'll perform if I have to stop using Aslains mod pack, fml 😂😂
Hey Claus - Good move. In the name of fairness, each instance of "alleged" cheating must be analyzed on its own merits or lack thereof and not automatically labeled simply because there is cheating in the game. You'r awarded today's Gold Star (or Gold Maple Leaf, if you prefer) for upholding the channel's standing as the NO BS Channel!
05:03 ... from what I have learned about that new cheat (and that the cheating company has gone offline until they make it harder for WG to detect the cheat), up to this timestamp it does not look like the cheat is being used. That B-C is in too good of a position for a cheater to allow him to stay in that bush. They would have had him taken out by this point in the game. IMO
It Malininovka, and there are numerous "go to bushes" that get blind shot all the time. This guy is one of those low rent players that doesn't understand the game, blames everyone else for their failures, and calls everyone a moron the minute they die.
On the EU server, cheating is “accepted” and is used by , good guess, 50% of the huge eastern playerbase. 😖

I don't use the typical hiding spots most of the time so getting vlind shot rarely happens, that is until about 2 months ago the blind shots started becoming more frequent. Yesterday I played and I got shot by a td through multiple buildings so what mod is that? Atleast that's what the shot indicator said.
It was just a good blind shot. If the ISU was hacking he would have hit him with both barrels since you really don't want to waste a double-shot unless you can see the target.

@@lordtark6736 nothing wrong with matchmaker matchmaker can’t force players to play better or get better at the game. It makes battles with the tanks available. If matchmaker was skill based it would be rigged.

The cheat where you see destroyed items is used a lot. I get shot too death today when i knok over a mini tree/twig and get shot instand at 400m. 😂

Delays are necessary to catch more cheaters & not let them know when it was detected.
It might not even be a delay as much as they haven't caught up yet.
Too many times have I had a tank with 4000 hp destroyed by a single enemy tank round. WTH?

Seems to me that there are a lot of ways to "cheat" in the game when you have a player on both teams, and the mod in question is only 1 of them. Just knowing for example that the top tier heavies went in a direction gives a big advantage. Given that fact, it will be nearly impossible in the future to prove the games integrity and every player who gets tilted will think they have a case.
Also if someone has some basic map knowlege, calling out common spots would make it pretty easy to hit enemies without them even being spotted. I've personally done it without anyone telling me, I just knew common places and would occasionally get lucky.
@@Stealth86651 Maps are old, stale and predictable. Change them each month so that "old-timers" cannot anticipate game play. Make it real, not like what it is now.

He got spotted then he went invisible. then he moved and the enemy saw the BUSHES moving so the enemy shot the moving bushes and hit him.
This was a great explanation of victimization and potential biases.
Years ago I blindshot a leafblower corner to corner, across Provence, because Alecto, and the idiot couldn't find a rock. A year before that I counter arty'ed 3 SPG's on Ensk. who wouldn't move. Most of the time there is no cheating, just luck, and without the full replay there is nothing to see or do here.
I don't play on low pop servers so I'm hoping I don't see this new cheat too much.

Guy should have waited for the full stats at the end of the game.
Then you can see the cheats who use the 'remote control' bots. The ones who simply drive forwards/backwards and never do any damage. Their player service record will show 1 tank in each tier with zero kills, zero damage, always playing under an Alias.
They are the players likely to be spying for the other team.
I screenshot those battle & player records at the end of the game. Caught 4 or 5 so far.
Muppets tend to moan the most. In their own tiny minds they are legends. "Shit happens" is for other people.
Cheating in all sorts of ways is common place on the Asian server.
One course of action WG could make, is to sue the cheat creators. The developers of Destiny 2 have done this and won. But don't stop at the cheat creators go after the people who advertise and conduct 'Boosting'.
First game definitely NO rigging/cheating.
And when you leave the game before it ends, you stil get the usual postgame stats.

I was in a tier 4-5 battle on Ruinberg in a tier 4 TD. I was undetected but in a known bush for TDs to sit. As soon as I spotted an enemy he stopped and blind-shot the bush I was in and being a tier 5 TD, he took me out in one shot.
Was he cheating? Not in my opinion. He knew he was spotted and none of our tanks were in the open, so he took a shot at one of the few bushes spotting TDs would be in and got me. I've done it (blind one-shot an enemy many times over the years) without cheating and other people do, too.
I do not think this was a cheater at all. He's just grumpy for thinking he was victim of cheating. That cheat has been put on hold, so it couldn't have been that cheat you showed us anyway.

UA and Russian players in EU servers cheat a lot
IMO the problem stems from the fact that WG allow mods. Why do they do this? One answer might be that some of the people that provide massive free publicity and sales pushes for them (i.e. content creators) are not as good as their egos demand, and thus they employ mods to massage their play. It really is hard to over-emphasise the importance to WG of the CC's who big-up the new tanks, thus boosting sales (you all know who these CC's are...), thus it makes business sense on WG's part to help those of them who are not as good as the likes of Skill, etc...

As far as I can tell the only thing the ISU did wrong was be an ISU. Was Russian tank destroyers are stupidly overpowered, and every one of them has a gun with an alpha one-tier higher than what it should be. I've said so many times there is a no reason a tier 8 needs a 750 plus or minus alpha gun. Definitely not necessarily in a tier 7.
That said there appears to be nothing suspicious about the ISU's statistics from that game. It would be interesting to see the replay from the perspective of the angry guys platoon mate or even from the ISU, or from someone on the other team. We've all seen before where out of nowhere we're getting crushed before our sixth sense even has a chance to light up in some cases, which could be the case of the platoon mate. Or sometimes sixth Sense doesn't work properly.. nothing suspicious at all.
The ban of the use of cheats is a great thing. However when they banned a lot of players (including big streamers) for rigging when they were infact NOT rigging at all was just a sh*tshow! Most of the innocent players had their bans lifted but there are still some that still are unfairly banned! They should in my opinion not have rolled out two different detection algorithms at the same time... They should also not have done it on a Friday just before TwitchCon which literally left a lot of tickets hanging in the air until they came back from San Diego!
Your opinion is that cheats rely on mods in a Game. Im 40 years old and played many games even semi professional and i can guarantee you, you are wrong with ur opinion Claus. Cheats "maintain" in every online game. No matter if there are mods allowed or not. Sry if my english is bad its not my first language.

I really can't belive people would cheet a video game.Ive been playing 8 years on console.Have played against cheaters in Call Of Duty years ogo,it got so bad I quit playing.These players ruin the experience of new players and piss off the older ones.

FYI A lot of the people they claimed to ban were unbanned 5 or 6 days later with the only explanation was that they were rigging games. I know this because I was one of those people and I have No clue what they are talking about. I was told I rigged 22 games from Sept 1 to I think sept 26 but I never rigged a game in my life. I still have Not receive credit for the 5 or 6 days of premium time I lost thus No more money for this game I will find something else to play.
Did you check your game files and see if you remembered playing those games. If not then someone could have “hacked” your account to use for those battles. Aka WG allowed their boosting services to use your account to rig those games

Wargaming unfortunately allowed third parties to modify the game MODS install third party mods in their game a company that respects itself allows such stupidities of enormous size ask riot game if they let you do that or gaijin with warthunder not crazy do that like leaving the doors open in a dangerous neighborhood and nothing will happen because that's the world of computing a very dangerous neighborhood in a few words or the mods become part of the company because they are not, or remove the mods and install an anti cheat

It may, or may not have been cheating. You have to let the game finish for the replay to show clear evidence of it though.
I play blitz, the biggest cheat is wargaming with its matchmaking and RnG
Ban all mods, fixes most issues. But, can't fix dumb players, stuck with them, like it or not.
These players go into COMMON KNOWN bushes get spotted, go back to the same bush location once they are dark and get mad because they are blind shot. That's not a cheat that's just a stupid player. Saying all that WG is full of shit. They do not detect all cheating it is the community that alerts them to it. I sent in countless replays months ago of getting blind shot behind bushes and solid objects even when relocating and they responded with it cannot happen because they cannot remove those objects from the game. It took one of the content creators to post a replay showing the cheat for WG to acknowledge it. I would go so far as to say that there is WG staff involved in the cheating and rigging. So, they sit on it until it is exposed! I've noticed that the last to notices of bans only happened AFTER content creators posted replays showing it.

623 cheaters banned out of a total of 79.458 cheaters.. not impressive.... If you go and sit in a well known spotting bush, expect to be blind hit, people know when you spot them, 6th sense, and know you are near, its not always that difficult to figure out where you are sitting.... just saying....
