    In the age of negative internet interaction and unashamed biased shilling, I just want to give a genuine thank you for a fair and honest assessment of Rove. Would have been so easy to just gush about your friend and business partner's game, but I thought you gave a true, thoughtful appraisal. I know that's your "brand", but I think it's worth mentioning when actions mirror words. I'm 100% backing it. If they put half as much effort into it as Crimson Scales, it will be great.

      Thank you! I always try to be mindful and I appreciate when it's noticed.

    Haha! Thank you Alex for the mention! So to hear you tripping over the title is funny! Let me clear it up: The Thinning Veil is the setting, the line of products. Cormac is the series, the Hero featured. The Other Side of Midnight is the specific board game.
    For people keen: the Midnight is all-in game play, acrylic standees (not minis), and gives you a ton of content! The £40 game has at least as much gameplay as the base game of Sword & Sorcery, Heroquest, Bloodborne and many other titles! We hope to see you all over on Gamefound, and thank you for your interest and support! Happy gaming!

    I'm glad you covered Rove. It looks like a fantastic game, and I've been impatiently waiting for it like many of the Crimson Scale fans.

    It was cool meeting Addax Games folks at LevelUp a few months ago. I’ll be supporting Rove. I always appreciate a book to explore (a la Jaws of the Lion) instead of a mess of tiles or a single board which goes stale quickly

    The Captain pledge (99$) in Battlegrounds is for those that already have everything released. It will cover all new content, or give you picks if you are missing some of the stuff since release.

    Ya for Alex doing a crockinole review in the future.
    Crockinole boards are very expensive. However, if you know you want a board you should 100% save up for a Tracey board. Jeremy is a friend of mine for sure so take that bias for what it is but, he also makes the boards used for the world championships and most of the major competitions in the US and Canada. His boards are all handmade and he is a small family run business.
    Ive played on both boards and there is no comparison in my opinion. You get what you pay for and if you have been wanting a board for a while you probably should get the tracey board.
    Having said all that, i love mayday sleeves and several of their games. Im glad mayday is working to spread Crockinole love around the world. Im not a fan of these boards at all but once you have played on a great board, you get spoiled and an 80% board just doesn't cut it for me.

      Agreed on all counts. I do think there's a place for boards where people don't want to spend $300 and otherwise might get nothing. Respect the gateway drug :)

      The MayDay Games $99 board is JUST a $99 board.

    I am intrigued by Rove, Regicide Legacy and the hard-to-pronounce Mich in the Downgeon...hard to say if I am ready for another dungeon crawler after just finishing Frosthaven in the next time though.

    Crokinole Canada sells various brands of boards, including Tracey Boards and their own brand of boards, while Tracey Boards makes and sells their own brand.

    I think The 7 Seas has so few backers because their shipping to the US is prohibitive. They have announced that they are looking for a shipping partner for the US so it is possible the shipping may drop before the campaign ends.

    CMONs version of Heman vs Battlegrounds - room for both in a collection? Look very similar skirmish type games while CMONs can be coop solo and 1-many - it’s best as controller vs heroes.

    Wanted to back that MOTU game but it doesn’t ship to my country…

  • @DukeJohnny
    @DukeJohnny 24 дня назад +2

    Small clarification on the Thinning Veil Cormac... game: the Architect pledge (200 GBP) does NOT provide the gameplay content, it's printed minis ONLY. In order to get the all in gameplay AND printed minis, you need to get the Midnight pledge (100 GBP) AND the Architect pledge (200 GBP) so it's 300 GBP total. The top most expensive (painted) pledges are also limited to 5 (only 5 of each will be produced).

    • @triskeliongames9270
      @triskeliongames9270 24 дня назад +3

      The Midnight Pledge is £100 and is all in game-play, game, and expansions. We added the storybook and artbook as a thank you to backers supporting us at this level. The game includes acrylic standees so you really don't need to buy the Architect pledge mentioned unless you want the miniatures.
      The Architect pledge is actually a print on demand service from us, direct. It is intended for those who cannot 3d print miniatures, for whatever reason.

      How’d you get that info so wildly wrong Johnny? You should nuke your comment in case people read it without reading the reply from Triskelion Games.

    • @triskeliongames9270
      @triskeliongames9270 24 дня назад +2

      @@djfusion2808 We did have 5 dropped pledges today in the hours after this video was posted, and since the comment was made, but correlation doesn't prove causality. Hopefully tomorrow we'll be back on the road to unlocking another stretch!

    • @DukeJohnny
      @DukeJohnny 24 дня назад +2

      @@djfusion2808 I admit, I mistakenly wrote "Midnight" instead of "Architect" - corrected that mistake now.
      In short: Architect Pledge provides you with only minis, not the items required for gameplay. I don't see any other "wild" errors in the comment.

    • @DukeJohnny
      @DukeJohnny 24 дня назад +2

      @@triskeliongames9270 Thank you for your comment, mine was by no means this to harm you in any way (on the contrary, I've been waiting for this project for quite some time). I just found the Architect and Midnight pledges slightly confusing and had to doublecheck my understanding in your comments section on Gamefound. Even Alex here in the video says (when comparing Architect to Midnight) "It's an extra hundred pounds but you're getting the printed miniatures instead." - which can be interpreted in at least a couple of ways. Congratulations on your success, wishing you all the best in your next Thinning Veil campaigns!

    I have one of these crokinole boards from a few years ago from Mayday Games, it is over hyped.
    ... You get what you pay for here. You pay $99 for a $99 board. They make it sound like it is better than $99, it is NOT.

    • @BoardGameCo
      @BoardGameCo  23 дня назад

      I've played with one in the past, it's no Tracey board, but I do think it's appropiately priced.

    so many of the games nowadays dont need kickstarter. the companies just missuse the plattform to get production payed in advance and even more. most of these games would have come to the shops anyways for a cheaper price. its exactly this and the constant delayes and shipping cost explosion what makes crowdfunding a mess these days. im so happy i stopped it and i wont ever again do another game with crowdfunding. i simply wait for retail and pay far less. this ship is sunken... pun intended
