It’s funny because if you have high honor Arthur’s “spirit animal” is an Eagle (or a hawk I couldn’t tell) so every time I saw an eagle playing through the first game again I just imagined it was Arthur looking after John

That last ending of John mowing down all the troops with the gattling gun, and then cut to him ground and pounding that guy’s face to a cut of choking another guy had me dying.
I remember hearing how originally they were possibly going to have a good and bad ending in the first RDR depending on your fame and honor, but they ended up just sticking with the bad ending as they felt it was better fitting to the story.

RDR games always imply that the characters cannot escape the wrongs they've done in the past. Somehow, it comes back to haunt them eventually even if they tried to change for the better. In other words, u still get punished even if u are forgiven.

Even the Animations are from the old game, the cigar on the mouth, instead of in it was a great touch! For real, amazingly done! Has to be some time that you put into this. Those cutscenes, correct animations and those Arthur ghosts are rather impressive.
I must admit, this is a very good remake of the scene, and also would be a good way to incorporate Arthur to the story of RDR, a name not spoken but always there.

I was almost in tears of disbelief when that happened at the end. After so many wonderful hours & memories for my main man to fall & the horror & emotional roller coaster i had been on to not be able to do anything about it was the only time a game ever made me feel that way. RDR games always imply that the characters cannot escape the wrongs they've done in the past. Somehow, it comes back to haunt them eventually even if they tried to change for the better. In other words, u still get punished even if u are forgiven.

I must admit, this is a very good remake of the scene, and also would be a good way to incorporate Arthur to the story of RDR, a name not spoken but always there.

I was almost in tears of disbelief when that happened at the end. After so many wonderful hours & memories for my main man to fall & the horror & emotional roller coaster i had been on to not be able to do anything about it was the only time a game ever made me feel that way. Then suddenly i’m his son visiting the grave. I had to go back and revisit it again and again till I realised this was it. Brilliant game. The best. ✌️

That would be the single toughest decision in any video game. Because if how realistic it is, at some point in time, most will have to bury their parents, maybe not literally. I wouldn't be able to do it.
That chilling objective, along with GTA 5's Bury the Hatchet, "Go to your grave" gave me the most chills in my mind. It's like my thought process just froze for a few seconds.
