@@MannsModelMoments . Indeed, it is massive. When first advertised, I ordered one. It is so accurate in detail, that they incorporated the engine, right hand side sits a little higher then the left engine because they also incorporated the tilt built into the xmission upper case that off sets the main rotor to compensate for the tail rotor thrust tendency to cause the helicopter to drift. Thus the r/h engine sits higher because the engine output drive to the xmission is slightly higher just like the full scale helicopter. ICM attention to detail with this was awesome.
I was directed to this interview by Jamie Haggo's excitement of the announcement of a 1/48 Hampden on his channel Scale Modeling Cafe. I must say I'm equally excited, WOW!! Needless to say I've subscribed to your channel and ICM's. I really like the the instruction videos on their channel, and have already found it helpful on their B-26 I'm working on right now. Also thank you for running a hobby shop, in the U.S. it's now becoming a rare thing. Here in Michigan I now have to drive 2 hours to get to one. Great interview sir. I’ve been building models for 50+ years and I’m an auto mechanic and restorer by trade. I love everything ICM does but no one is talking about the cars they produce. The model T and model A fords they make are the most accurate ever produced in 1/24 1/25 scale. ICM is an amazing company

I was impressed with their products but after watching this video, i want to work there 😊 This was a fantastic video Alex and i dont know of many other manufacturer, excepting airfix who are actively listening to their customers in a very deliberate way to solicit feedback and suggestions. The mere fact that she watched your video on the best model conpanies and commented on how they want to turn their weaknesses into their strength tells you all you need to kow about their business philosophy. This is a company which clearly has a vision to be #1 in the modelling world. Credit and kudos to ICM 👏
Couldn't just leave a comment like. Like your Best Model Manufacturer videos, this is an amazing interview, surpassing anything similar. OCM is "breaking the mold" with instructional videos and high quality, for instance. Congratulations to you and to ICM.
Great interview and such a refreshing insight into the people behind the boxes. ICM are doing a lot of things right and their subject matter is one of their real strengths. Viktor Frankl’s book is a sobering masterpiece.
Brilliant & interesting interview. It's great to get an idea of how the company works & that it's taking a different approach to the market, which works well. With the current challenges they face. Thanks for sharing & all the best to one & all. I'm looking forward to next year.
When it comes to your American car kits, they are fantastic. Here in America, the most common car kit scale is 1/25. If you decide to make the change to that I believe it will find that more Americans will be interested. Also, please consider doing 1950's and 1960's cars. There is a huge interest. Loved this video, and please keep up the great work and stay safe. America is with you. ❤
What an insight, I just loved how natural she was and how genuine she came across. I still would like masks included, after all they don’t leave paints to aftermarket suppliers. Thx Alex.
I think the idea with the paints is that any modeller can buy kit and paints and have everything they need to finish the model, whereas paint masks are a bit more niche and they'd rather encourage the after-market companies.
Hi Alex.. one very brief comment on the conflict with Russia. Obviously English is Valeriya's second language - and she speaks it very well! - but I think she is being unfair to herself, as well as her colleagues, to say they 'ran away' when the invasion started. No they //entirely justifiably// evacuated, returning when it was safe to do so. They all /quite rightly/ prioritised their families over the business. I think we in the UK recognise a 'Blitz spirit' in ICM and Valeriya's comments essentially encapsulate 'Keep Calm And Carry On'. Great interview, and I guess now having so much done in-house eases production as supplier outside Ukraine don't have to cross a war-zone - or worse simply refuse to.
Absolutely - I think we all knew exactly the intent and motivation there, and the fact they were back in two weeks is remarkable! In-house production is a huge advantage, and I hope some other manufacturers (cough, Airfix) see this and think about the things that are holding them back - and it's not their design team!
@@MannsModelMoments What I think would really help cut costs would be a UK manufacturer of the plastic. Granted countries like India pay a lot less so they charge less for their product /but/ then there's a shipping cost to add. UK based companies may charge more /but/ there's no shipping involved. I wonder which would be cheaper per ton.. UK with no shipping or abroad with shipping.
@@julianmhall The Spitfire Mk IX was produced in the UK - it's probably one of Airfix's best value kits at an RRP of £95. I can't be 100% sure, but I've not heard anything like the same grumblings about QC with this kit compared to those made in India. Also no shipping delays or issues, more rapid development turnaround time - even if the Spitfire had been £120 RRP I think it would have worked, so the only reason I can see for NOT doing the same with other kits is volume of production - if I were at Airfix I'd handle this with distributed production, because there are a LOT of injection moulding services in the UK.
@@MannsModelMoments Agreed about distributing production. That is after all how we produced aircraft in the SWW, and in IT how many research projects work, farming off small bits to thousands of users who then submit their results.

30:47 Her answer gave me chills !!! ICM listens to the customers! \o/
I know!
ICM's CH-54A Skycrane is the best ever in detail. They are a team oriented company that wants to put their best into the modeling community.
It's also a bit different and massive!
@@anthonycapanas2932 Wow that's impressive!
I was directed to this interview by Jamie Haggo's excitement of the announcement of a 1/48 Hampden on his channel Scale Modeling Cafe. I must say I'm equally excited, WOW!! Needless to say I've subscribed to your channel and ICM's. I've always loved ICM's kits, but hearing from Valeriia about how they are a family company, and how fast they can move on a subject due to producing everything in house, and how absolutely tough they are despite everything going on.They are an example of how things should be done! I really like the the instruction videos on their channel, and have already found it helpful on their B-26 I'm working on right now. Also thank you for running a hobby shop, in the U.S. it's now becoming a rare thing. Here in Michigan I now have to drive 2 hours to get to one. Keep up the good work, and looking forward to the next video!
I have a couple good ideas, and a few ok ideas for kits. Where do we post them?
Link to ICM website in the video description, send them to them directly
Wonderful interview and I'm very thankful to you, Alex and Valeria for creating this video. I've been longing for a new-tooled 1/48 B-26 Marauder for decades, and ICM has made that dream come true. My kit is currently winging it's way here to me in the US all the way from Poland.
My pleasure!
My ICM B-26 Marauder kit just arrived yesterday. It is GORGEOUS!
Wow! What a fantastic interview.
Thank you!
I am blown away by what ICM can do in a warzone. I know I speak for us all when I wish them the very best until peace comes back . The 1/48 Hampden is the greatest announcement for me, pretty much ever. I've wanted one in 48 as long as I can remember in the quality of ICM. This was another awesome interview with Valeriia. Thank you to her and ICM. My favourite brand by far.
Well said!
Great interview, thank you Valeria for the insight, wonderful that a model company actually listen to the customers, obviously they cant keep everyone happy, but the fact they do take suggestions onboard is wonderful. I would love to see a 1/48th Matador tanker to go with there ever expanding 1/48 British aircraft.
Totally agree!
Brilliant!! Great video. The Ukrainian spirit in everything they do is so inspiring.
Absolutely!
All my recent purchases have been ICM.....I love them!
Yeah, they are doing really good things
@@MannsModelMoments Maybe a MMM feature on Ukrainian companies? May have to be multi part though!
Great idea!
Great interview. ICM is quickly raising the bar for model companies. I would LOVE to see ICM produce a 1/72 04 1/48 scale P-3C Orion.
This was a very engaging interview and Valeriia was amazing. I have been really impressed with ICM quality and can only think they will be a major player in the future. I have a number of their kits on my list to acquire. I wish them all the best and look forward to the Handley Page Hampton. I'd really like to see a 1/32 FW-189.
You and me both!
Alex! You outdid yourself, buddy! Amazing interview.
Cheers, but the credit really goes to Valeriia and ICM
The animated instruction videos are so excellent. As a novice builder, the vids give me a good idea if I can be successful on the kit. Thanks ICM. This particular interview was so enlightening and heart warming. May God be with ICM and the Ukraine.
Aren't they just! I love them build videos very cool I'm Learning it now myself and 3D design and 3D printing and it's not easy that's for sure!
Completely agree, and at this rate, they'll get there too!
Couldn't just leave a comment like. Like your Best Model Manufacturer videos, this is an amazing interview, surpassing anything similar. OCM is "breaking the mold" with instructional videos and high quality, for instance. Congratulations to you and to ICM.
They really are!
Great interview and such a refreshing insight into the people behind the boxes. ICM are doing a lot of things right and their subject matter is one of their real strengths. Viktor Frankl’s book is a sobering masterpiece.
Couldn't agree more!
Brilliant & interesting interview. It's great to get an idea of how the company works & that it's taking a different approach to the market, which works well. With the current challenges they face. Thanks for sharing & all the best to one & all. I'm looking forward to next year.
Absolutely!
Great interview. Very inspiring young lady. Surely ICM is producing some really nice kits. I have built the CR-42 and A-26 Special K.
Brilliant stuff - what a fascinating insight into the company.
If you put Tamiya tape over the template, you can still see the outline, then cut out using a scalpel. Just like Tamiya!
Hi Alex.. one very brief comment on the conflict with Russia.
Alex you outdid yourself. Well done. This awesome
Thanks, but as I said to another commenter, the credit really goes to Valeriia and the ICM team!
Great interview. I love ICM as they have a wide range and some unusual subjects. Also, I'd just like to say their customer service is fantastic. I had a missing part in an ICM kit and contacted them online. They dealt with it superbly and sent me a free replacement. The staff I communicated with during this process were brilliant. I have huge confidence buying ICM coz I know that if there is a problem, they will go the extra mile to put it right!
Thanks for the info!
An important video in so many ways, thank you Valeriia and Alex.
Thanks!

I've not deleted any factual comments - in fact I don't think I've deleted any comments here, though if Russian trolls try to spread propaganda I will delete and report them

This was a great look into icm. I only discovered them a few years ago and instantly became a fan when i did my tribute to Ukraine build. The model was incredible. Thanks for the interview with a very interesting member of our hobby. I think my favorite part of the interveiw was her description of how they were coping with the war and how they were trying to live normal lives during this horrible time. Nice!
WTF?!
WHEN did kyiv ever see that much combat???
it's in the middle of the country! do these people think they are the only ones who can read a map?!?!
What n earth are you talking about? Kyiv is being targeted on a daily basis - you don't have to be on the fornt line to be killed, you know. Don't you think air raids and missile strikes affect a business? Honestly, it's a pretty silly comment.
