Friend, you recorded a masterpiece on my birthday! Memorable! And the best, I'm going to transform this video into mp3 to get this beautiful timbre! Thx
Nice to see someone else commenting this very day. I agree hearing this on fretless would probably be beautiful. This is fantastic sounding also though. Been listening to the top 5 results for bass covers of this song and this is the best so far. Bro just plays so naturally where other people were a bit stiff due to how much travelling up and down the neck this song requires. And like others have said, excellent tone on this. A bit darker and muddier yet still mixed nicely
Interesting. I’m primarily a fingers player (hence getting rid of the pick after the intro!), but I just find it easier to keep all the notes ringing out when playing with a pick. The studio version seems to be played with a pick too which probably influences me to ‘hear it sound a certain way’
I just went through my pedalboard on this. In response to the comment above, no darkglass pedals used (I’m not a huge fan of the darkglass sound, I don’t really like the commonly used metal bass combo of a Dingwall into darkglass) My core tone is the proco rat in one channel paired with a bit of a bass boost in the other - then they both go through the sansamp vt bass di ….. and at some point the MXR bass compressor(I’ve played around with the placement of the compressor a lot and can’t remember where I had it on this cover)
The perfect bass cover of this song doesn’t exis...
Fantastic. Thank you so much. Saw them a few times. Greetings from Germany and cheers : - )

Just so you know, this intro was written to be played with fingers, not a pick. I should know....I wrote it. I am the original Bass Player.
