Real talk. Interviews with Brooks is like asking your kid to smile for pictures before opening Christmas presents and you’re getting a mailed in/hurry the fudge up and let’s do this
Yep, that's probably one of the smartest things he's said...imagine if someone rolled the golf ball toward you and had to hit it at the target...you would probably make a pretty decent sequenced swing... But...this is way easier said than done and just making it reactionary is hard af Probably same reason why some great nba players miss free throws
@@vanbalzup6481 Golf is static, hockey is not. This brings a the mental side of the game to a whole new level. And Rory is not worst by a landslide. You know very little about professional golf if you really belive that.
I love how simple Brooks keeps the game of golf. See target - hit it. If you're nervous, you're thinking about outcomes. Hit a fade, don't let the clubface rotate. Awesome.
I think even casual golfers like myself think to much about it. I notice how much better I play when I’m just care free and playing the shot I hit lol crazy how mental this game is!
Never been the biggest Brooks fan from a personality perspective. This was a phenomenal interview and has changed my opinion. Dylan did an amazing job of connecting with Brooks to make him feel comfortable and give his honest thoughts and mindset while standing over the ball. Great job.
I disagree. The interviewer's skills and knowledge of playing the game seem very low. Brooks made the interview 'go'. So many closed ended questions could have been rephrased to open ended. Oftentimes, it seems like the interviewer is timid, mumbling, or looking down. Luckily, Brooks was in a conversational mood and forthcoming with insights.
He’s my favorite golfer. It is what it is. Dudes a machine and one of the best athletes in all of golf in history. Keep it simple stupid. Bros just got it
People who don’t get Brooks should watch this video. A lot of people have a misconception that he doesn’t care, but that’s not it. He’s a feel player who doesn’t get caught up in numbers and trains hard. Simple, old school. It works too.
Yep, he just doesn't get sucked into it all...he's the perfect example of what they mean when they tell players to "be an athlete" in this game...he thinks about almost nothing besides aim at target and hit....mechanical thoughts and complexity would take away his best asset (his athleticism)...it's easier said than done but something can definitely be learned from brooks, i don't think it's that h3 doesn't care, he was really down in the dumps on the Netflix show during his slump, so he clearly cares...I think he acts this way cause it keeps him grounded
I enjoyed this quite a bit. I like Brooks philosophy on golf, keep it simple, stay present and forget about the outcome to minimize nerves. No wonder he has 5 Majors! and a few more to come I'd say.
Incredibly refreshing. Brooks has absolutely grown on me the past few years. Love having the perspective flipped and for what it's worth, I fully support him and all the LIV guys' decisions.
These range talks and walkthroughs are by FAR the best golf content videos on the entire internet. Nothing beats being able to listen to these guys explain the method to their madness!
This interview was amazing. Now everything Brooks said in the past years makes perfect sense. He wasn't cocky. He was just speaking from a context that only he and his team understood. Amazing mental game.
People forget brooks has four 2nd place finishes in majors as well. His 2019 was one of the greatest seasons ever that nobody talks about with his worst major finish being a T4 in the open. People love to hate him, but damn I hate that I love him. Dude shows up, shuts up and golfs his butt off when the lights are brightest.
Always been a Koepka guy, as a Florida kid and FSU fan it just kind of felt right😂. But seriously, I've always enjoyed how simple and quick he made the game. Glad to hear him really describe in detail what he's doing out there, because it always looked so effortless.
Great video. I’ve always liked Koepka’s playing style and approach to the game. It’s great to hear him discuss how he is just going with it and not so consumed with the numbers or analytics. It’s fun listening to Bryson or Phil really get into it, but listening to this was so refreshing. I walked the course with brooks when he played at Bellerive in the PGA Championship. He was so dialed in and didn’t let anything get in his head. He turns into a beast in those majors.
That shot he played in the final round at Oak Hill when he was plugged in a steep greenside bunker is one of the most impressive I've seen in tournament golf. He just walked toward it, grabbed his wedge and knocked it onto the green as if it was nothing...
This was great, the next level to this would be to walk with them during casual 18 holes of play and you can ask a lot more questions on lies, adjusting to wind, and whatever else comes up during the round. Dope interview guys.
Big bad brooks doing his thing!! guessing this was 6 months so ago..still got the mullet...this guy is fascinating at how he goes about golf...he is box office and im sure he'll be there in the mix next Sunday at Augusta looking to make it number 6😳...lets do this bk👊
His attitude to the game is such good advice for the amateur golfer. Once you have the basics, keep it simple work on PGA and if it works dont change and dont overthink it.
I think people don’t really understand his actual game formula. I think people think he’s playing like DJ when he’s actually more like Faldo, just with more power when he needs it. Very shallow, almost thin strikes with the irons and note the comment about focus on 7 iron down. Very little curve but subtle shapes. Incredible trajectory control. Curious to see his spin numbers. The mental stuff he speaks on - people just don’t believe it but at least it’s better understood than the physical execution. Underrated scrambler and short game. Knows where to miss and misses where he should.
So insightful. Switch the brain off is the only way to play golf lol. Brooksie seems like a great guy actually and misunderstood by many (including me). It would be interesting to contrast this session with a warm up with Padraig. Well done Dylan.
Same shaft since 2016? Goes to show how its better to stick to what works for you and maintain consistency than to keep trying other equipment things just because it’s “new” or “improved”. 👍🏼
Majority will be assuming Scottie takes another green jacket, but for me would love nothing more than to see Brooks get his first & final major to complete a grand slam.
Yeah he's gotta win masters and open and he doesn't usually play well during the open, but this is a dude that no matter what you can never ever count him out in a major
Never heard Brooks talk this much and be as personable as he is here, great job Dylan
Rare occasion !
Real talk. Interviews with Brooks is like asking your kid to smile for pictures before opening Christmas presents and you’re getting a mailed in/hurry the fudge up and let’s do this
All that LIV money got him stress free...
Unlike the PGA Tour dry spells
Best Brooks interview ever!! Brilliant!!
He’s happy. Liv taking care of him, doesn’t have the stress of the pga tour
"Just make it a reactionary sport" is the best line and highlights why he is able to play fast.
Someone needs to tell my body to react better when I’m golfing.
Some Bob Rotella type basics here, love to hear it

I used to dislike Brooks when he was winning all those majors but I've since learned to appreciate him for his authenticity and swing method.

There's a reason this dude has 5 majors. He's confident as all hell and doesn't try to overthink the game. Makes it easy on himself. Love it!
Exactly. Keeps it simple
Truly, the best Brooks interview I’ve seen. Honest, blunt, real.
People who don’t get Brooks should watch this video. A lot of people have a misconception that he doesn’t care, but that’s not it. He’s a feel player who doesn’t get caught up in numbers and trains hard. Simple, old school. It works too.

@MarkSmithhhh he keeps it so simple. It's genius actually

Nice to see Brooks K with a positive attitude. LIV Definitely chilled him out a lot. This is the best Brooks interview I’ve ever seen.

really well done! brooks finally speaks and opens up on some golf. need more of this my dude
Damn I miss Brooks on the PGA tour love the guy
Loving him on LIV!!
This interview was amazing. Now everything Brooks said in the past years makes perfect sense. He wasn't cocky. He was just speaking from a context that only he and his team understood. Amazing mental game.
Brooks is by far the greatest Major winner since Tiger Woods. He doesn’t get enough credit.

Really enjoy you doing these spots Dylan. Nice job and thanks for sharing!
Beast!!! One of the best swing in the game. Keep going Big Homie!
My favorite player. I am really going to try and employee his mindset on just hitting the shot.
Previously never been a big Brooks fan, but I really quite like the guy having seen more about him. great video
Very thorough interview. Brooks seemed much more personable than the media's depiction of him. And the greats seem to keep it simple.
I also use 9,7 and 5 in warm up and totally agree with his methodology regarding working on autopilot and not thinking! Good video 👏👏
im sure he;d be super glad to know that user-yo87997vgh4 agrees with him

I like how simple his warmup is. I tried a similar warmup before my round recently and played great

Terrific interaction - superior interview by Dylan - Brooks is fun and genuine.
This interview kind of changed my perspective on the mental side of golf. This is great stuff

"Goodluck today Brooks, a lot of pressure."...........Brooks response "Exactly." Wisdom for life.....
Absolutely jacked!
looks like he should be running a ball back from a kick off.
Not sure how tall he is, but looks like he’s maybe 210-220
This is jacked..? Step foot in any local gym lmao
Excited for SIM 2 vs Qi10 video in the background - the decider of if I need to upgrade to Qi10
Great interview! You can tell he just handles “pressure” on a different level
This is too good. Soak this up!!!
How can you not like and respect Koepka after this? He said and is doing everything we wish we could.
Damn good interview and great insights, Dylan! Great flow in the questions, one on top of each other. Lots of good tidbits from Brooks!
I feel like this is a Brooks I've never seen before. Excellent. What a cool guy.

Anyone know what course this is being filmed.

Great interview 👍 brooks is class
Just listening to Brooks, my swing has dramatically improved. The game is more simpler than we think. "Turn and Burn"!
Great interview
I hope you read this, but I'd be curious when he travels does he bring 1 driver, 2, 3, how many putters, wedges, etc in his travel bag
He has a private jet. And tour truck if he needs anything new. I don’t know if they have tour vans at LIV events
brooks is an absolute beast... genuinely seems like good dude
Can't wait to see him play IRL for the first time at Valderrama this year!

What kind of mic solution are you rocking with here? Rode mic taped inside the shirt?
Pulling for Brooks to get that green jacket in a couple weeks.
