I am finally getting answers I was looking for to create my own cnc ... thx for doing all the effort that this takes yo create unique and original and usefull information at a pace that people can follow, i understand stuff really fast if someone explains at a normal speed and i dont have to keep going back in a video, thx for the awesome effort and time you put into this
Thank you for a nice refresher. I am revisiting LinuxCNC after a long absence. Many years ago when classic ladder was introduced to Linux CNC (it was then known EMC2 but was around the time it was changing its name, iirc) I implemented grey code tool changer classic ladder for a Denford StarTurn lathe conversion, sadly that knowledge has long since left me along with the PC I was employing ;-) The interface has come a long way since those days :-)
Watched the entire thing, which for me, paying attention and trying to learn it, or just to become familiar with some of this, is a step in the right direction for sure, you got my thumbs up. Won't be the last time I watch this video for sure...but absolutely incredible
Great video. I'm just getting started with LinuxCNC (+ Mesa ethernet) to build a plasma table. My first venture into CNC. I'm sure to come back to this and other of your videos often. Cheers.
So, before I even got to 5:53, I ordered a couple PS4 controllers, you get them to light up, great look at HAL configuration window - your tutorials are actually incredible. I am 17 mins in and my brain hurts
As I am retrofitting a VMC, a few days ago I was reading and trying tutorials on how to make the arm toolchanger work. I've watched very carefully from the begining to the end, and found precious informations. Now I will go at my shop and change some of the probing logic that I've done without ladder till now! :D Thanks for the awesome content, we want more!

I discovered after making this video that if you don't have a ladder.clp, running classic ladder for the first time will create the file automatically 👌👌👌👌

While at it, a similar one about HAL would certainly be priceless 😊 One question, you tie outputs to gmoccapy... Would linking them to halui make the config VCP independent and integrated with all of them? Should each ui config have to be adapted? Thanks a bunch for sharing 🙏 Rest assured that I'll be watching it at least another couple of time 😅
what happens if you press the increase + decrease + deadmans button? I'd suggest using your NCi1 and NCi2 on the opposite inputs to lock out the possible pressing of all three buttons.
Correct, in a real world scenario, you would want an xor circuit to lock out one button when you press the other. In this case, it doesn't have a detrimental effect on the basic example. If you get deeper into the video series, you'll see I have an extensive video on and, or, xor and compare it to and2, or2 and xor2 in hal
I make my ladder on Windows PC. I copy it with a pendrive to Linuxcnc. But my ClassicLadder software save *.clprj files. I think, my EMC2 config do not load it. Net variables command are working, but the ladder.clprj do nothing. Do you help me with some tips?
Might be incompatible versions. Classicladder for Linuxcnc is heavily modified to work specifically with LinuxCNC. The other thing to check is that you started the ladder after loading it.

linux cnc and brain pain are synonymous. phil lessens the pain.

I could use halui and scale the override to jump down a percentage, I'm doing that in another configuration. I could try that here as well, I guess 🤔🤔
