Speaker : Nouman Ali Khan - A bit about him
Nouman Ali Khan is the founder and CEO of Bayyinah. His first exposure to Arabic study was in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where he completed his elementary education. He continued Arabic grammar study in Pakistan, where he received a scholarship for ranking among the top 10 scores in the national Arabic studies board examinations in 1993. But his serious training in Arabic began in the United States in 1999 under Dr. Abdus-Samie, founder and formal principal of Quran College, Faisalabad, Pakistan who happened to be touring the US for intensive lectures in Tafsir and Arabic studies. Under Dr. Abdus-Samie, Nouman developed a keen methodical understanding of Arabic grammar. He further benefited from Dr. Abdus-Samie by internalizing his unique teaching methods and later translating his work into English for the benefit of his own students. Nouman served as professor of Arabic at Nassau Community College until ’06 and has taught Modern Standard and Classical Arabic at various venues for nearly 7 years with over 10,000 students nationwide. Currently he has dedicated himself to a seven-year-long project, of conducting a linguistic & literary focus Qur’anic Tafseer series in English. Chapter 102 quran so what are u trying to do The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things),
Until ye visit the graves.
But nay, ye soon shall know (the reality).
Again, ye soon shall know!
Nay, were ye to know with certainty of mind, (ye would beware!)
Ye shall certainly see Hell-Fire!
Again, ye shall see it with certainty of sight!
Then, shall ye be questioned that Day about the joy (ye indulged in!).
As one of the scholar once said this dunya is a dream we are living and the akriyat ( day of judgement) is when we wake up from the day and then everyone will be regretting to go back and do more ebadah (good deeds) .

After listen to this video I relize I'm still doing nothing for Islam as muslim. But after listen to this short dakwah I want to become a better muslim.
I wish May Allah turn our hearts towards him and accept us as his servants and show us the right path and forgive us for our sins before we die.

So very very true what Ustadh Nouman is saying. In reality, many Muslim parents don't or slack in their daily 5 prayers, hence the children follows. In short, when those 5 daily prayers are lacking, everything else falls apart slowly but surely. Kids nowdays will know the autobiography of music stars rather than knowing the names of the Sahabah of Rasulullah SAW. I always tell people the first step to know Islam is to read the biography and the journey of our Rasulullah SAW, only then can kids understand Islam little by little, the struggle, the battles, the trial and tribulations our ancestors had to go through to preserve Islam to what we have today. In Islam, the hadiths goes by the thousands. A Muslim family just need to read and gloss over Shahih Bulhari or Muslim to educate themselves just what our Deen really is. I thanked Ustadh Nouman for constantly reminding us day in day out the perils of neglecting the commands of Allah SWT. Muslims at large needs to digest, to learn and act in accordance to the teachings of Islam

I believe this is half correct. People will use this to think small and play in a little field. I believe true success is being content and happy with little while striving for greatness in wealth, religion, and in giving to others.
This allows us to think bigger while being infinitely more grateful, because when you have more than you can imagine and you are content with little, it allows you to give back to the world in ways you would never have been able to. Don't place limits on yourself and waste your time in the name of being content with little. Strive for greatness and show gratitude to Allah (SWT) for the intellect he has given us, among numerous other things.

I was lucky enough to fear Allah SWT while I was in Arafah, yesterday. After spending the day thinking about the doas and listening to the talk that our tour leader reminding us about the power of doas ... Arafah was hit with a thunder and lightening storm ... MaasyaAllah. I feel fearful but yet reassured Allah SWT Loves us and our doas. The rain gave relief to the heat of the day and a positive answers to our doas. I never felt so very lucky to witness once in a life time beautiful journey ... SubhanAllah 💞

Let's learn to be thankful to Allah. He doesn't want us to give up on goals and dreams because if we stop earning money, you will face another challenge, the challenge of begging people for money or looking at other people's pockets. This challenge will give you impression that people are God as they help you and you will end up feeling like a slave.
Allah has no issues with richness or poverty. Allah's biggest concern is to see whether we are thankful to Him or thankless. Sadly, many of us don't thank, praise, appreciate Him for the work He does for us.
As said earlier, Allah has no issues with cars, homes or a nice vacation. He just wants us to attribute that success, things to Him alone because the reality is that: Everything comes from Him alone. Nothing in the universe is done by anything except for Allah. Even the blinking of an eye is done by Him alone. So He expects us to acknowledge Him..........He doesn't want us to empty our stomach just to expect that it will please Him. He wants us to eat food, look at it closely, examine its atoms, contents, calories, He wants us to think about the taste buds that enable us to taste food while also removing our hunger at the same time. This way He wants us to see His power, intelligence, hard work done for us, and then wants us to appreciate His glory. He says in the Quran: "O family of Dawood, work in gratitude (means that do everything with gratitude)"
Another verse: "Why would Allah punish you, if you are grateful"
This shows that the real worth is thankfulness. If you have a nice car, it is up to you whether you thank Allah for its comfortable ride and speed or look and feel, or you use this car to show off, think lowly of others, mock them for having an old car.
But yes, if someone is not thankful or doesn't want to be, then gaining these blessings (cars, homes, kids) may become a burden instead of a benefit.

What can we do to further our Deen?... The people who need dakwah today are muslims themselves. No real iman no conviction is a waste of life. To serve something higher is the goal we should aspire. Islam is a journey and every single moment is a journey. We should be a servant to our Deen. Call our Deen with eyes OPEN. We have to contribute to Allah's DEEN.

This is second time that I am listening to this video. Like.... someone advice me ... how should I strengthen islam within me in my busy and exam days of college. ?
Maryam Amin Allah (SWT) himself reminds us 5 times a day in the adhan 'Come to prayer, come to success'.
If you pray Fard, start praying Sunnah Muakkadah, if you pray that then Sunnah Ghair Mu'akkadah, next start praying nafl, try waking up for tahajjud.
Try to read at least a page of the Quran at Fajr time as the recitation during Fajr is witnessed.
Make it a habit to memorise some Quran, set a goal for a month.
Make an effort to improve the quality of your salah. Perfect your wudu and try praying calmly without any distractions. Concentrate on the meaning of what you are reciting and who you are standing in front of.
We were created in this world solely to worship Allah, even in our everyday chores renew your intention that you do it for the sake of Allah.
I pray Allah strengthens your iman and guides you to do great success in this life and the next.

this is an unjustifiable tirade against young people, the parents spoil their kids by raising them on the basis of their wants and not their needs. it's not only the fault of the kids but it is also the parent who has to put effort at the age when the child can be shaped and moulded into the way they want, which they neglect for a number of things. I'm not saying what you said is completely wrong, it's true that the young generation are too far from what islam really is but I don't think blaming them wholely and solely on the child.

Wa alaikum salaam, In short, we are permitted to be involved in the material wealth up to the degree that it does not divert us from Allah's obedience. If one becomes engrossed in the material wealth or become absorbed in the forbidden or abominable things, which divert him from our duties and obligations towards Allah, the sentence 7 i@i ". . .they are the losers" will apply, because he has sold the great and eternal reward of the Hereafter for the petty and perishable enjoyment of this world. What loss could be greater than this!
