To say he could take on base Aizen is laughable, Aizen literally solo'd every other captain in base without even trying. Ichigo was never captain level, he never even had a real Bankai until "The blade is me". Anyone would have been trapped in Quilge's jail, it was stated that power alone can't break through it. Only reason Ichigo got out was because of his Quincy blood.

People assume strength like it was a dbgt fight, where in if the character is 0.01% stronger, they can stand there and tank all attacks like Superman. Even if a character could be stronger (Vasto Lord Ichigo) if you stand there and not dodge *sword* then you're going to die (Ulquiorra almost beheading distracted Vasto Lord Ichigo). The only exception is if it's a _gigantic_ difference in Reiatsu.

It's not clear that Grimmjow would have been able to easily defeat AYON in a normal fight. These were the powers of AYON in the hands of the Quincies. Same thing about utility in the current battle. In terms of personal strength, he is insanely useless, there have already been people stronger than him who have fallen. Its main benefit is that the Quincies are weaker when it comes to meeting Hollow.
Ichigo and aizen are the strongest beings other than yuhawaha now. Both being tier above shinigami or hollows. So i doupt grimmjo would ever get a runback. I would place them on espada 2-3 level. They still dont have sekundo etapa tho, which is wasted potential imo.

Hallibel fought yhwach not quilge. The fact kubo took out that panel where ichigo looked intimidated from grimmjow pulling out his sword shows the rival argument with ichigo is irrelevant now. Grimmjow defeated quilge with a sneak attack

It's not clear that Grimmjow would have been able to easily defeat AYON in a normal fight. These were the powers of AYON in the hands of the Quincies. Same thing about utility in the current battle. In terms of personal strength, he is insanely useless, there have already been people stronger than him who have fallen. Its main benefit is that the Quincies are weaker when it comes to meeting Hollow.
Ichigo and aizen are the strongest beings other than yuhawaha now. Both being tier above shinigami or hollows. So i doupt grimmjo would ever get a runback.
