i think when you call people to use Blender for video editor, you really need to start from the problems. A. cant use composite nodes per video strip B. cant proxy scenes strips there are lots more smaller for common tasks, eg the poor titles support, but those two can be the dead breakers!!
Just a little tip. You can pin scenes to workspace tabs with the pin icon in the scene dropdown. That way you don't need to constantly select the scene from the dropdown. Not the ideal workflow, but it's the best there is for now.
the speech was very natural. But the accent sounds like an American karen. I wish she had a more sympathetic voice. But I really appreciate the effort you put into naturalness. The pauses between words are incredibly natural. It's like real.
i think the key word isnt sympathetic but distinctive ..a nice voice is a plus, but distinctive is the foundations of a character :) if all good, next major voice try will be on xmas break!!
@@mii_beta You are absolutely right. Because English is not my mother tongue. I wish I knew Greek. We're actually neighbors. But damn the education system. English is an inadequate language internationally. I can't fully express myself because of the lack of words.Thank you for understanding. 😌
@@DrVektor I wouldn't say it's really an English problem, any language will have different ways of expressing certain things, sometimes they truly don't have features of other languages, but you learn to adapt and actually express yourself in a new way, because the language quietly changes how you think while you learn it more and more
I have a dream that one day Blender's VSE preview performs as well as other video editors. Of course, that's probably not happening any time soon... Nice video tho!
@@mii_beta During the past 8 months aras has made ~20 PRs for improving rendering performance, and many more improving UI performance, which also speed up playback. ISS is also working on a few speed improvements. Afaik as of now the largest bottleneck is currently not that it's rendered on the CPU, so they are focusing on improving other parts first before tackling GPU compositing. So there definitely is work being done on that.
I think Blender would only need a new MODIFIER that can be defined with nodes. That way you could use keying node in that modifier without having any extra scenes.
For some type of video projects, i use BlenderVSE with Shotcut, i use Shotcut just for edit video assets, like greenscreen or other effects that Blender doesn't have, and for other types of video i even use Kdenlive for the same reason of Shotcut.. -_-
didnt say it on video, but i should, and i should had investigate a bit more on that, but around 4-5 years ago, Blender developers were almost to drop VSE cuz of the low development and the many issues
Personally, I export the result of removing the green find as PNG images with alpha. Then in a new editing project, I insert the original video (to use the audio) and I insert on a higher track, the series of images.
idk, is it because you cant import anything (on Linux), or because it is constantly broken, or perhaps because you cant even script expessions? very overestimate editor, but sure, you can use it together for Blender. for example adding the greenscreen there, or editing the audio
i think you're right!! moving in Windows makes life so much easier; with Windows you can focus on your work without have nothing else to worry about 😅🤣😂
@@mii_beta I had some issues with windows. But u know because of rust we have got good cross platform programs. For terminal, wezterm and alacritty are good if u dont like windows terminal. I hate powershell but there is nushell which sort of works like bash and zsh and works on windows and Linux both. Windows has become better but I prefer GNOME but atleast my hidpi display works in Windows and not having to deal with blurry xwayland windows in GNOME in fractional scaling also is great.

For quickly rendering Scene strips to video files in the timeline use the add-on called "Add_Rendered_Strips".
I used blender for a couple years but now I think Reaper is the best Video editor for linux
What about using Kdenlive ?
When compared to blender, no

This is what Mii/Wogue has to do to bring us videos. Im glad theyve got patience😅😅😅
Olive for me is the best video editor.. even if it's almost unmaintained nowdays
thats what i switched from ..you may know coz i said many times.. idk im saying it again anyway :p
@@mii_beta I know but I still can't digest Blender as video editor

IT'S NOT REAL????
it's not real?
0:15 the kdenlive is the most complete, have LUT support, chroma key, and tracking etc, for linux.

i was looking just 2 days back on Blender's source code, pull requests, issues, discussion ..nothing about GPU on VSE :(
@@mii_beta perhaps one day 😔

Is Kdenlive not a good video editor for Linux?
Unless something super dramatic has happened the last year ... Nop

Blender should focus more on VSE with more developers contributing to VSE.

Davinci Resolve is available free on Linux

btw Resolve is super overestimate editor!!
I using blender for video editing lol :D
Im not a professional editor. Just a casual a user.
Davinci Resolve has a Linux version and the non studio version is free.
I Know the feel too..
(I USE WAY TOO MUCH GREEN SCREENS)
Natron and then Blender.
Natron was about to become a thing ...8 years back :/
@@mii_beta Fills in the gaps where Blender is missing stuff reasonably well.
bro… davinci resolve: exists… why are you editing in blender like a clown 🤡 😂
because the free version doesn't have a lot of codec support, so you can't really import anything without converting
Mfw proprietary
Why are u working so hard. Use windows my friend.

Um, thanks, Mii, I can't handle your filler words, learn to talk like a human being. I'll check on you next month.
