Pod Go Wireless is the best if you basically want an all in one watered down light version of Helix. HX Stomp XL is awesome and slightly more options than Pod Go but you need to add your own expression pedal and wireless system. It all comes down to what you're looking to do and budget.
I am really interested in buyinga Helix HX effects to use in front of a clean Fender HRD (my go-to amp for clean tone, that I use at least 50% of the time). My big concern is: does the Helix HX changes the basic tone of the amp when bypassed? Or should I use a buffer, specific settings, change the amp EQ etc?
I would like to know that answer also I have a Fender HRD and love the clean channel but everyone avoids that question. These multi effects are mostly made for powered speaker or into PA from what I can find on internet
It is mostly an amp modeler if you're looking for effects only it would be better to buy the hx effects but you can turn off the amp and cab sim and hook up directly (although I wouldn't buy the helix genuinely for that because it costs so much more than the Hx effect due to the amp modeling)

What happened to the Firehawk FX? My main concern is that it doesn't allow you to change stomps without a gap in between.
We want a 2 unit rack in the HX range at similar price. HX stomp in a rack basically.

Has there been an update to the processors within the Helix since its debut?
Nope But there has been Several major Firmware Upgrades with Loads more Amps / Fxs / Cabs etc
I wish the hd5000x or firehawk had jack amp switching...
Are these compatable with line 6 Amps?
Which of these work best when it comes to looping? also which works best with an external looping pedal?
The looping on the hx stomp works fine for me, but I feel like the stomp xl or any other hx would be slightly better (more switches etc)
