Nissan Almera 1.0 Turbo 2021 Fuel Consumption & Driving Test In The City | YS Khong Driving

  • Many of our viewers are very curious to know what fuel consumption is possible with the Nissan Almera 1.0 Turbo, so we have laid out a special test run not only for you, but to check it out ourselves. In addition, we also took it out on a drive through city roads just to show you some real world conditions.
    The route we used started from Bandar Utama, and we joined the LDP to get to Federal highway, after which we took the Federal highway to Bangsar and cut through to Jalan Damansara via Jalan Ma'arof.
    The trip was in the afternoon traffic conditions, and traffic was normal to light. Anyway, please be reminded that we are a RUclips Channel, and not an accredited testing body, and whatever results we achieved are based on the instrumentation that is available in the car.
    In other words, what you see is what you get.

    Small capacity engine with turbo seems to be the way to go. I will definitely be looking at one next time instead of n/a. The torque for everyday driving plus the fuel efficiency is exceptional.

    Because the engine is so effortless in keeping up with traffic and it having a very efficient drivetrain, the Almera seems to easily hit fuel economy figures that are once thought only exclusive to diesels or hybrids. While the Axia or Bezza has 1.0Ls as well, because they are underpowered and have a draggy gearbox you'd struggle to hit the figures mentioned as youd be pushing the engine hard just to keep up.
    After this review am seriously considering the Almera. It seems like a perfect all rounder vehicle
    Another deciding factor is that is an MPi unit rather than Di, which is known to be superior in terms of long term reliability.

      @@RamachandranMurugayah
      Mpi = Multi Point Fuel Injection. Injector is in the intake. Fuel can touch intake valves which reduces carbon buildup in future.
      Di = Direct Injection. Injector sprays fuel directly into cylinder. Better for performance and emmision standards, worse off for real life reliability and performance consistency. Carbon can build up kaokao in the intake valves. Reducing overall efficiency

    It is a very relevant real-world road test. You should do more of these tests, although I reckon you should try and drive a bit closer to the speed limit. :D It is amazing how the estimated range increased from 460km when you initially set off to 500km when you ended the trip. I'm surprised that it actually recalculates the range on the go.

    • @YSKhongDriving
      @YSKhongDriving  3 года назад +2

      As explained before, it measures the amount of fuel you have left in the tank, and based on your current consumption, it recalculates the remaining range.

      Exactly, me too, Almera comes with Automonous Emergency Braking (AEB) and Forward Collison Warning (FCW) for all variants together also comes with turbocharger engine 1.0cc. Even, Nissan Almera design looks better than Honda City for inside and outside. Plus, Almera cabin based on NVH are also more quieter than Honda City. Especially, reliability for Nissan is also better than Honda as Xtronic CVT gearbox is more smoother compare to Earth Dream CVT gearbox

    Light foot throttle, constantly maintain the average fuel consumption on meter around 5-6.0l/km, it would be fuel saving on any car. Every 10,000km apply deposit cleaner, every 50,000km clean throttle body and combustion chamber would be just nice to maintain car engine condition.

    Hi again to the best real-world reviewer in SEA ! I am planning to buy my college son this car, but i am worried that in speed of 12-17kph (yes that is our normal early morning traffic speed here in the Metro Manila, Phils!), will the turbo engine consume more fuel? My son and I test drove this car and really fell in love with and despite being more expensive than the Honda City, we are probably 65% going to buy it. Tia for answering my question

    • @YSKhongDriving
      @YSKhongDriving  2 года назад +5

      At low sppeds this car would have an advantage. Even when idling, it saves fuel because at idling and low speeds, the 1.0 litre engine works without the turbo ( basically) so consumes fuel for a 1.0 liter engine.

      We did not drive long distance, but should be good. Fuel economy should be good, and car is stable at high speed. Big difference from previous model.

      If we do a JB -KL run with the Almera turbo, it would probably get better mileage than that, because we can go for long distances with negative throttle, and maintain light throttle. Like I said in my video - what you see is what you get - we tested it in those conditions as you saw it - we did not arrange for other cars to be there, there was no support vehicle, no outriders, no car preparation, air-cond on.

    • @mylife5237
      @mylife5237 3 года назад

      @@YSKhongDriving Hi, uncle. With all due respect, we should try to prove the assumption by doing a JB-KL, KL-JB drive with you. I doubt Almera's fuel consumption would exceed 10% of Civic's FC on highway. City driving wise, yes, definitely given small cc, 3 cylinder + turbocharge. On the highway, we should factor in other elements such as Fuel mapping, torque, CVT design and tyre diameter. I've yet driven a small sedan whose FC is fantastic because the car is ultimately designed for city commuting, therefore the mapping of the engine and transmission which at mainly geared towards pleasant city cruising and enhanced fuel economy. On the highway, it's a different story.
