Did most of these when I lived in Jackson MS but how could you forget 1) Mynelle Gardens 2) The Mississippi Black (and other rodeos) at the Coliseum and 3) The Annual State Fair. I almost never missed it in the 22 years I lived in Jackson. I also miss fishing at the Rez!
From the UK and work seconded me to Jackson Mississippi for 5 weeks. 1st thing I was told was not to walk around Jackson by myself as it's one of the most dangerous cities in the world.
The water situation hasn't changed. They just stopped talking about it. These people believe they've been drinking it this long n it hasn't killed them yet, there's nothing wrong with it. The infrastructure was installed in 1888. You tell me, how is the water getting to homes & businesses. We still going to restaurants cooking with this water.
I grew up in Jackson. It’s fine to do these things but keep your car locked and watch your back, oh, and don’t let the water in your mouth. The mayor is the leader of a gang based in Jackson and the governor of Mississippi is a member of the klan. It’s best you steer clear.
I live outside of Jackson and there is nothing nice about the city it has a high crime rate and large homeless population and it's riddled with abandoned houses and buildings I wouldn't recommend for anyone to visit or move to the city of Jackson.

TERRIBLE CITY 😮😮 Leave the kids at home/hotel so they are safe. Downtown Detroit and Cleveland are Disneyland compared to Jackson.
