You have a newer version. Use the current filter that has a rotate function, just search "rotate" and click on the first result. It all does the same thing.
As for the audio, you can use the low pass filter with "Wet" at 100% and the cutoff frequency at around 3200 for that VHS sound too. Thank you so much for this tutorial!
Thanks for that, maybe will use it later Also thanks for the epilepsy warning since i do have epilepsy but i only had 1 real seizure so i probably wouldnt have gotten affected by those flashing light..
That's such a valuable video. The effect looks amazing and your explanation is great as well. I'm really inspired and I'll do something simillar one day in one of my videos for sure. Thank you a lot for sharing your tips :D
Yo bro thanks for this video I needed this for a drill remix of a song from the game "Poppy Playtime", which has that sort of VHS aspect throughout the game.

To make it even more realistic if you want it to have the classic black borders, just set the aspect ratio as 4:3 and the resolution as 333x480 pixels when exporting
@@scellyyt I just exported a video in that format and it looks good so id assume its what i said since i dont even think vhs was 480p. i used it on an old highschool video and using that with an audio filter works perfect 👍
For more advanced stuff I don't think shotcut can replace premiere, but if you use various freeware utilities together such as shotcut and blender, you'll easily be off the adobe tax.
@@scellyyt i used the lens correction and put centre to 30.8 and edges to 0, i didnt know about filter and crop lol plus i got the sort of effect I wanted, even tho it was inverse, but if i did it where it was normal, It's be weird so yeah lol. ty
hi i really liked the glow effect so thanks :) but i downloaded a vhs effect that has a transparent background, how can i put it over a video so the video has a vhs effect?
It won’t give the video the softer colours but it would look really good on top of the video if you use the opacity filter to make it a bit transparent
i'm really confused, whenever i try to paste a video into my top track it moves the entire thing and when i try to align the tracks it deletes the top video. any solution to this issue?
I was more closely trying to resemble analogue video captured directly off of a VCR or something rather than a camera pointed to a CRT but you can do that with a PNG overlay
Well as a quick and dirty trick for a simple video editor I think it does a decent job of the major parts, but yes, it's never going to be 1:1. I also have a 90s camcorder that records to super8 tape, and am aware that it's not a perfect recreation.
Well I wouldn't consider my PC a monster, but if you are experiencing a lot of shotcut lag then change the display method in "Settings > Display method" and then select one. I personally find that "DirectX (ANGLE)" works best for me. Keep in mind that if you are using lots of videos, filters, tracks ect it will tend to slow down. hi great idea
Highly suggest raising the rolloff rate to at least 3, as that will make it sound like an old mic as well

I feel like if you added grain then it would have been even better but other then that thank you for this video!!!
Yea I forgot to add that. And no problem.
@@scellyyt how would you do that?
@@katelynns4887 Think u just go to add effects and chose grain and yeah just chose the size and stuff from then.

The glich effect can be used during jumpscares
This tutorial was brilliant; the subscription is well deserved.
Thank YOU! Needed this badly.
Make more shotcut videos ... People really love it
to make the color bleed more accurate, make the color layer have 100% opacity instead, and set the layer's blend mode to HSL Color
Thank you SO MUCH for this tutorial!!! It really helped a lot :> God bless u and hope you have a good day!

Hey, this is great! What filter would you suggest to make the image a little more wavy, to add to the already pretty convincing effect?

There posibly be just blur on horizontal color, instead of chromatic aberation?

Nice tips! I never knew shotcut has this feature LOL. Anyway, did you set this video as "not public" intentionally?
Yea because I forgot to add the thumbnail but eh. I'll just leave it to public now.
Great video, thank you!
Nice video. I will give it a shot in the future. How would you implement a TV grain with these effects?
I would add a grain effect to the above track, but I would personally just add a bit and not overdo it.
How do I make a 3d tv effect with it? Y'know one where it looks like you're watching one of those tvs where the screen bulges out?
For that i'd experiment with the lens correction filter and crop: rectangle filter imgur.com/a/8eNnc5B

It will always be a bit slow while you're in the editor, that's just how shotcut is. It should be smooth when you export it
