As a beginner with this machine, this video totally blew me away! As you said, these are simple things to do with the Digitakt 2, but they seem so difficult to me! I hope to reach your level one day! Keep it up boss, I'll be subscribing to your work immediately!
Got the digitakt 2 two weeks ago and I'm gonna order the novation peak soon. Thank you for this video, it will help a lot to manage my setup when the peak arrives.
Anyone else not getting Reverb or Delay output from the External Mixer page? I have to use the Chorus Send FX page. Chorus works fine in the External Mixer page though. Strange...This is with firmware 1.02. Amazing lesson EZBOT!
Since the DT2 doesn’t have an FX track to sequence, would it be possible to use a MIDI loop back in and say use track 14, 15, and 16 as MIDI tracks to sequence Delay, Reverb and Chorus independently?
Hi everybody. i own a MPC one, would you recommend a digi for experimental music and sound design? It's easier to make experimental music with digi? or continue with mpc? I would like to know if digi can actually be useful.
I’m interested to know why you use the Octatrack for MIDI clock source. Is it so you can monitor with a metronome but the stream doesn’t have to hear it?
Hello, thanks for all your videos. However, I have a question, I brought my A.Rytm into Digi2 and it hasn't enough gain compared with the sound that comes from Digitakt itself. To level them together I have to crank the Rytm way beyond distorsion threshold. How to bring up my ext inst level in Digitakt2, do you think it could be fixed with an update Thanks again man
@ezbot btw is the audio from Microfreak goes thru Digitakt 2? If yes, how did you manage to balance the volume? Cuz i did that but the sound going thru my Digitakt 2 is really soft like perform for ants. Not sure issit my unit is defect or what. Hope you can help me on this. Appreciate it my good sir 😎😎
I’m about to get a Digitakt 2 and trying to duplicate this with my Jupiter X. Is the Octatrack just being used as a mixer more or less? I’m just using my x32 mixer
Bought digitakt and after 40 min of play: Screen got milkey and sequenzer stoped. Send the unit back. Got a new one and after two days-sequenzer stop. Both uploaded new firmware. 1000 euro and the mashine sucks. Elektron did something wrong 👍
i tried this using my MicroFreak synth and it seems that the input level is extremely low on the Digitakt 2? i have the output cranked all the way up and even with the l/r input on the Digitakt 2 turned to the maximum, i can barely hear it. has anyone else experienced this?
Sup Elektron fam. Burning question.. If I have a 16 step sample and I punch in a (trig-less trig) reverse at step 9 to finish off the bar.. but I mute it at step 14 before a new bar, why does it continue to play out in reverse? How do I stop this? I tried to punch in 0 velocity at step 16 but it seems if I mute the track it doesn't continue to read the sequencer. Please help if anyone understands my question lol. thanks. loving my new Digitakt II btw.
Did you figure this out? I don't think I have enough detail to fully understand what you're doing, but it seems like maybe you want to use the step 14 yellow trig to cut off the amp envelope or drop the amp volume. I think velocity should be thought of as hitting a key on a piano, not as controlling volume on a mixer. In this case, you're choosing not to "hit a key" because you're adding a yellow trig instead of red. On the DT2, velocity can be used to affect volume because that's the normal association (hit keys on a piano with varied velocity and you get a change in volume, amongst other things), but on other synths, velocity could control just about anything.
Man, only complaint I have is I wish the midi sequencer was 8 note midi polyphony. Makes digitakt not as fun to use with poly synths. I prefer sequencing over sampling first because you can change the sound after the fact

Great video, I'm definitely learning. Just got a Digitakt ii so only just found your channel as I'm new to Elektron. Thanks
Thanks EZBOT, this was a really helpful and inspiring walkthrough! 🎉
Picking up a dt2 soon and going to go crazy with my emu command station

Awesome!! Now ready for other lessons about digitakt 2 💪🏻
@ezbot - Matt if you use the headphone out, it will be in two channels and won't be so low in gain.
Thank you Harry!
Love this. Thank you!
Great lesson Cheers 🔥🔥🔥🤘
Just what the doctor ordered! 🔥 Gracias

it should be yes
You know you're on the next level when you're using Octatrack as a mixer. 😆
Thank you for this video!
that black Microfreak looks goddamn cool !

15:30 - ep133 has 99bars of steps avalilable, seqtrack has 128steps for example.

i believe it's so the fx in octratrack are better in time, might be wrong though

I heard that using the headphone out is louder
I could have sworn Elektron had shown something about doubling record time by recording monophonically in their promotion of the device...
There will be some an update soon

Yes, summing and performance effects.
Where is the midi arpegiator… Hope it will be implemented soon !
I have big doubts
@@EZBOT_ It's a Cruelty in its genre...
