Man, I love the jig saw setup and the circle cut out jig for the welding torch. Really creative ideas and enough for me to subscribe to your channel too. I've been woodworking since I was 10, that's over 50 years for me. My father was a welder/steampipe fitter as a job and he was very good at it too. When I was about 8years old he taught me very basic welding. Whenever we could we would go to the junkyard,(one of my favorite "playgrounds"), and we would gather up a 5-gallon bucket of scrap parts, screws, wire, basically a bit of everything. When we got home, we would look at everything we got and create cars, or trucks, animals and weld them together. It was so much fun, creative, and some quality time with pops. I have such wonderful memories of those years. So my grandfather taught me woodworking, and my dad welding at a young age. There was a purpose in them doing that with me. 1) to share one of the things they loved to do, but also to give me some practical life skills. When I was in high school, I got a part-time job welding in a fabrication shop. I was 15 when I started and made almost as much as any other entry level welder. I had to pass a basic welding test, and the shop manager and some of the senior welders judged my skills and I passed. They were very impressed with the methods I knew at a young age. I saved enough money to get my first used pickup and put me through my state college. During college, I worked as a framer for a local construction company. I was treated with such respect at both jobs. I was a lucky gal back then. While most girls my age were waitressing, nothing wrong with it, but i was making triple what they were making. And getting to restore my first home myself, at 24, taught me sooo many more skills to like electrical and plumbing. Dad stepped in for that again since he knew plumbing for his job as well. Being able to purchase a home at 24( it was cheap because it needed a complete over haul), started me down a path of flipping houses. This was BEFORE flipping house became "a thing". I made some serious money back then, enough to buy two large plots of land. Grampa always taught us to invest in land early because they were not making more of it, lol. So the first plot was over 500 acres in Vermont and a 21 acres piece of land in my hometown.
Those two men were very important and influential in my life and I miss them both every day. So after a lot of decades later, and I think I've learned everything there is about the two fields of interest to me, I learn something new and it is thanks to creative people like yourself. Thank you very much for that!!
