    Good on you! Lots of people don’t want to buy items when a date is on it, but my Mom & I bought them anyway. The items that seem to be affordable are full of preservatives. And apparently they spray our produce with a ripening spray because they pick them ahead of time and then our produce oxidizes, so WASH your produce!

      Yes! I use baking soda or vinegar on mine. I’ve been considering an actual veggie wash. Thoughts?

    How long after the best before date would you consume a product? And is there any particular food that you would still use after the expiration date?

    • @lynnellb
      @lynnellb  5 месяцев назад +1

      So I don’t buy expired foods. Use of expired foods is advised against. You can check out the article I linked in the description box. Best before, however, yes I uy those. There’s a difference. The article explains it well.
      When I do purchase something close to the best before date, I try to keep it at the top of the freezer and use as soon as possible. Usually within a week or two

    I think Canadian groceries are so much cheaper than the Caribbean

    • @lynnellb
      @lynnellb  4 месяца назад +1

      That’s what I think too. I guess when others are saying it’s expensive they are comparing current prices to what it used to be.
