- In a recent video of mine I used the word bhakt , and quite a few people accused me of being a left winger just because I said the word bhakt.
Funnily in real life I sometimes get accused of being a right winger when I don’t agree with certain things , the Gandhis or the Mamta Banerjees of the world would do. Within my circle of friends and family I have people who are reasonably high up the chain inside the BJP and I have people who are staunch opponents of the right. When all of us hang out as friend’s and talk , the word Bhakt is used in conversation casually and no one takes offence because its friends having a discussion , and they know there is no intention to offend its just slang for today's hardcore BJP supporters .
If I had not met BJP people who use the word themselves I would perhaps worry about it being offensive. I also understand that this is you tube and people can comment what they want without thinking twice so I rarely give a flying F about haters and trolls.
I am not making this video as a reaction to their comment’s but I am making this video so that it is clear to everyone in the tribe where I stand politically .

This is a beautiful video! Left and Right are irrelevant concepts in India. There have been many authoritarian decisions taken by the so presumed left and some liberal decisions taken by the right as well. India as a whole is trying to find its identity since last 73 years. We are like a ball of hope swinging in the direction that seems more optimistic.

Left is supposed to be authoritarian(Communists). Right is democratic. At least these are the traditional definitions. I think you confused yourself with the definition of liberal and left

I get what you're saying but the thing is I'm more interested about his wisdom, I can't go around and search for profound individual's research to gain knowledge, it's not my field or Job, the way he articulate complex topics and breaks down human Psyche is awesome.

This is problem with kids nowadays, many people think that always criticising something/someone is a virtue, yes I agree that he dance around some things about God and his way of thinking is very uncoventional for normal people, he think like a psychologist and say things that people don't want to hear like say cultural Monogamy or his comments on extreme left idealogy, whether the ideas he presents are feasible or not is up for debate but that way he thinks is great, you can watch one of his videos on alcohol and see how he breaks down metal psyche of drinkers and why they do it continuously by acknowledging he himself did it once, yes most of it is know but the way he articulate things is ingenious,
I also see this growing trend of people calling others fan boys to claim their argument is valid which is another dumb way to embarrass themselves.

Parties like CPI etc are Far left, Congress based on its economic and social policies is Left wing and BJP if you were to take a closer look at them and thier policies is Center left.

I've centrist views but whenever I try to listen to both the side of argument, I end up agreeing with right wing more and I totally see why it's rising globally.
I personally think that’s fine. More often than not I tend to agree with the left myself.
The important thing is as long as you’re entering into discussions with an open mind and make up your mind only after understanding the full story you’re being true to yourself.

Rishabh Gupta, as someone who tends to lean left with a centrist footing, I’d have to agree with you here.
A lot of left-wing people are irrational and problematic. But it’s important to understand these are radicals who simply won’t change their mind no matter what and brand anybody with contradicting views as Bhakts. There is a similar subsection of right-wing people who do the same and label people as Anti-nationals.
They key point here is to engage in dialogue as Freishia has stated. Have conversations, healthy debates, and be open minded. Rational, civil discourse needs to become the norm so that the absolutist fringes from both sides of the spectrum get drowned out.
I agree with the 'left' in certain issues and with the 'right' on certain other issues. Forcing ourselves within a label forces us to support something without even considering views from the the other side.

Arguably one of your best, and most important video till date. I’ve been thinking about this for years - the truth almost always lies somewhere in the middle. We need to encourage open-minded healthy debates where we counter each other’s points as opposed to resort to name calling the way children do.
Right now the extremes both wings are guilty of acting like mobs with no respect and integrity. Whatever be the source, the best idea HAS to win on its merits and practicality.
Don't vote based on a party. Vote for the one who is going to be best for your district. Lot of people vote emotionally and thus end up choosing people who aren't good for them where they live. If in the end no party gets the majority that's fine atleast you will have someone who will try their best to develop your place.

Good thought. Diplomatic as always, but one thing. When there's a conflict between two sides, people generally announce both of the sides as culprits to sedate the situation, but the reality always says that it always starts with one side which forces the other side to retaliate. If I put forth the analogy of the Zoroastrians' exodus from Iran, a little more conservatism or the modern equivalent "Right Wing thought" would've saved Iran from the Conquest and in effect, Zoroastrianism too. Same analogy goes for Kashmiri Hindus as well. NOTE that, similar conquest is underway and would sooner or later validate conservatism more, but it would be too late till then. Liberalism is cool, blind liberalism and being ignorant of the exceptions is plain foolish. Nonetheless, your content is more balanced than the Right vs Left Wing debate. Keep it up!

Di, I recently came across your channel and started viewing your videos and I just wanna say that they are just amazing.
In the current scenario, when people are getting influenced by incomplete, wrongful and misleading information being shared on social networking sites, the need of the hour is that they get to know the facts, practicalities of what's really going on and the real thought they should have about the particular thing rather than getting influenced by others opinion.
I wish to share the same thoughts as you do on your channel but I'm not able to do the same as I'm involved in my professional studies, but I'm so happy to see someone telling the right thing rather than influencing with wrong and incomplete information.

I agree with you. I also admire what Sadhguru says "No matter which party is in power, it's my duty to support it as it is the Government of India and the people of the nation have chosen them". We need more fluidity in terms of Leftists and Rightists. There are few Leftists who always feel that democracy is in danger, muslims are tortured very much, muslims are in danger, there's no freedom of expression, which I think is totally wrong. No Parsi or Sikh ever feel that they are discriminated, but it's just few media people who specifically put fear on the minds of our Muslim friends. On the other hand there are Rightist Hindu nationalists who don't even have the clear idea about Hinduism and they don't realize how inclusive, scientific and peaceful our Sanatan culture is. That's why there's a need of fluidity & flexibility in our choices and decisions.

I remember, 3 years ago, one of my friend (she is leftist and I slightly lean towards right) told me that "I wouldn't f*** a sanghi" (sic). Let's not concentrate over her 'f' remark, what she really meant was she wouldn't go in a relationship with a right-winger. Immediately I thought, "Oh my god that's very dangerous thought". I would have countered her there but she wouldn't listen.

Yesterday I was watching the video where some video where someone had commented some s\w settings to make the audio better.
The video author replied with a thanks and told the person that he had no idea about how to do all this (it was a football tactics video).
The other person then wrote in fine detail\with links on how to do that stuff.
Even though it might have taken him 5 minutes, this is something I appreciate about humans. Taking his time out to help a stranger on youtube :)

These Right Wing and Left Wing parameters not fall suitable for India, as we need Socialism to provide equal grounds with Capitalism, Rightist ideology with liberal leftist views along with strictness of Communism.

This whole Political Compass of Left Wing and Right Wing is highly flawed, as humans its in our nature to undergo mental thoughts variation as the time passes by, thus as a result, we always have a mix, a blend of views and opinions which will fall into both the Right & Left Ideology, the good thing is when you have a balance of your thoughts from both these two wings, and thats what is called 'Aligning by the Center' or being 'Rational'. In this your views are governed by your own logic rather than some political person's propaganda.
Your thinking is always good till it fluctuates near the center, doesnt matter which wing, but it starts getting deteriorating as soon your views start aligning to the Far Right or Far Left.

@N SINGH I know originally those colours were chosen for their significance in respective religion. But Gandhi changed that concept by branding saffron as sacrifice & valour, white as peace & tranquility, green as progress & prosperity. We should forget the old meaning of their colour and adhere to the new one.

It strikes me as ironic that a country that has the Mahabharat so ingrained in it's culture needs to be reminded of the dangers of societal and family division. But the truth is not like that. I enjoy most of your videos and I can clearly state that this video's curation is not proper. Left is an ideology and culture where humanity matters most like you said in your video. Communism, socialism and secularism is left ideology. So what is right? Communalism, regionalism, patriarchal ideology and many more together form right ideology. BJP stands for hindu nationalism. Congress and AAP promotes communalism to exploit vote banks which now was directly exploited by BJP. Anyway I don't want to go further but you better read more and see more. You can start interpretation of religion and religious books to das capital, communist manifesto and many other literature to understand. Kerala isn't a place nurturing for ISIS recruitment but you can get more news related to it because Kerala is well connected and these news is also part of Extreme right propaganda to create hate. For understanding that you have to research behind the scenes. Also you need to know about political geological and religious polarization. To bring the change you should be more open to information.

You got rid of an entire community in your tangent about tragedies in India, although you're right about CAA not affecting all Indian muslims it does affect those who have no proof of their identity because they literally didn't have the money, connections or knowledge to get it . Mosques have been destroyed too but you don't see it on TV because a majority of people would not care. And no matter how inclusive and accepting I try to be and no matter how many times I doubt my identity for the sake of an argument and an attempt to understand the other side of the story there will always be someone trying to demonize me and turn me into just a single trait. When that point came on social dilemma about the building differences in society, I was constantly being reminded about the comment sections that are plagued with abuses hurled towards both sides, not stopping or caring to hear what the others have to say. I usually visit both the portals of right wing and left wing pages and cross check the news with Google. As you said it's a simple think about understanding other humans but I am quiet against hate and bigotry in any format. I don't count it as an opinion but something that comes from a very narrow mind.
