- Ember Tetra also known as Hyphessobrycon amandae. Here is another great stocking idea for a 40 gallon breeder. Tetras in general but one of my favorites is the ember tetra. I use all my LRB Aquatics plants that I just got in and I cant wait until they fill in! I also added my snails from Oddball Aquatics

Love it! I would leave it all embers. I have a 75 blackwater with Green Neons, Red Phantom Tetras, and a school of 9 Rummynose Tetras. I put the 3 different species in since it's a bigger tank. But i think in your 40 breeder having all embers will look excellent. Maybe some pencilfish for up top and a pair of Apistogramma
great ideas, I just picked up another dozen embers
I had to re-home my buenos aires, they mowed down a lot of my plants.
I have embers, neon, black neons, zebra danios, corys, they do fine together. Adding 2 oto's when they pass quarantine. Oh, and snails.
