안녕하세요
Hiiii
Question: In this lesson take for example at time 3:29. I usually have no problem reading 한글 쓰기, but some of these I struggle to read, is this a "cursive" or "shorthand" way to write? In watching the kdrama "Crash landing on you" I noticed the letter written by 리 무 혁 in episode 10 around 23 minutes in I found this style looks similar... I had to stare at his name for a good 5 minutes to make out the writing. I'm not sure if this is just a different style, because in this same show other letters (mail) written were very easy to read. Any insight on this style would be greatly appreciated.
Haha yes, everyone has a different style of handwriting :)) Some people write slowly and in a standard way, the result of which would be easier to read for people who are not used to different styles of Hangeul writing. I try my best to write like that while teaching, but in this particular lesson I used a quite slippery pen, and I think that's probably why it appeared more cursive than how I write in other lessons. I'd better use a different pen next time. Thanks for this comment ^^
선생님 i have a question, its not topic related though 😅.
How many tenses are there in korean?? I know simple present, simple past and future and present progressive but are there more?
I have tried looking up for it but there are no results online.
I couldn't attend the live class because i was at school༎ຶ‿༎ຶ
Thank you so much!
We usually use present, past, future, present progressive, past progressive and future progressive, so this is enough for beginner level learners to remember. There are of course more tenses like past perfect(had P.P/ Verb-았/었었다), future perfect(will have done, would have done, Verb-았/었을 거다, Verb-았/었었을 거다), past perfect progressive(Verb-고 있었었다), future perfect progressive(Verb-고 있었을 거다), but these are more taught as "grammatical expressions" rather than grammatical tenses, and are usually interchangeable with past, future, past progressive, and future progressive. So you don't need to worry too much about it when you are at a lower level, and you'll learn more in-depth about these tenses(or expressions) as you get to a more advanced level :)
@@KoreanwithMissVicky 감사합니다 선생님!!! If someone did not tell you this recently let me tell you, Your are the best teacher! Please don't be too hard on yourself and thankyou for working sp hard for us!
선생님 is there a future tense for 게 되다? Like the practice sentence “I will be starting at a Korean company next month” do we always use 됐어 regardless of when the change happens? Thank you
Good question! Verb-게 되다's future tense "verb-게 될거야(될 거예요)" is usually used when you are predicting what will end up happening or changes you think will happen, rather than what's decided for sure already.
e.g.
공부 안하면 후회하게 될거야. If you don't study, you will end up regretting.
넌 지금 고양이를 싫어하지만 언젠간 좋아하게 될거야. You don't like cats right now, but you will someday like them.
Otherwise, if you're talking about changes or situations that already happened or already decided would happen, it's more natural to conjugate it in past (verb-게 됐어요)
e.g.
지수가 드디어 고양이를 좋아하게 됐어요. Jisoo finally likes cats! (It's the change that already happened, so you can conjugate it in past tense.)
지수의 생일 파티에 못 가게 됐어요. I cannot go to Jisoo's birthday party. (It's something already decided would happen, so you can conjugate it in past tense.)
hii vicky, could you tell me the difference between the verbs 좋다 and 좋아하다? thankss💕

Why in this sentence we used 됐어요 although the change will happen next month
I'm working in a korean company from the next month
다름 달부터 한국 회사에서 일하게 됐어요.
Why noy 될 거예요 or 돼요??
