Appreciate it man, it’s 2024 and this is the only tutorial for this song. I see someone complaining… So what he’s not Marty Schwartz, get good at guitar and this video should be all you need. Shakey Graves is the best, it’s great to see him getting some love
At about 4:35 or so what I think you’re trying to say is that the melody notes are all played ON the beat, not on the “and” of the beats, hence they are played as a “pinch” simultaneously with the bass note. Usually in Travis picking many of the melody notes are played off the beat (i.e. on the AND), and this is what gives Travis picking the syncopated sound that it is known for.
Thank you, My recording setup is nothing special, a small but decent webcam and some ambient light (literally created a desk lamp) is how I record video. Audio is recorded through a Blue condenser microphone which is running through a Scarlett 18i8 interface!
Hold the chord in your left hand (or right if you are left handed) and then with your opposite hand practice jumping back and forth between two of the three top string. I wouldn’t worry about adding your other fingers until you have the thumb down, it is the more important half of the technique if you ask me

Hey Aaron, any chance you know Doe, Jane? I’m looking all over RUclips for the intro and no one has a tutorial

How the fuck do you alternate the thumb. I just finished learning to play chords :/

And don't forget to be stomping your imaginary suitcases bass drum! I can't hear this song without doing it
Where’s your tab? Bottom line
This isn’t a lesson. This is a vlog about how he learned it. He’s a terrible teacher
Go find a different tutorial then goofy, music is a journey not a damn class, go play classical for that
@@Walker.Does.Photography I’m not looking for a tutorial. But this is literally described as a tutorial. In the title.
Everyone learns differently, you don’t have to watch it if you don’t like it, have some respect.
@@rutherford7820 I didn’t like it clearly. It’s not a tutorial. I’m not hating on the guy but it’s simply not as advertised
