Thanks man! I did my best. Shoot, actually that title goes to my buddy at GGF Events. Have you watched his review? He covered a few more things I didn't cover here haha.
I can appreciate the creativity used to create that custom loop inside this case. It also shows that if you're not afraid to modify your case you can still make your build unique even when the case is intentionally designed for simplicity.
Excellent review, the quality of your videos is apsolute top tier. I hope to see your channel grow massively over the next few years as you seriously deserve it.
Just came across this from RUclips recommendations... damn what an production quality. The same level as both Devyn Johnston and Optimum, only being physically bigger and more ripped than Optimum. Looking at you plugging that tiny 3.5mm jack into the side of the case, almost thought you'd accidentally break it due to the sheer size of your tricep. Damn! Very detailed, thorough, calm, as well as very calm and clear voice, smooth and overall extremely enjoyable review. Really liked the conclusion you gave, didn't seem to be scripted, but your own thoughts and words in the moment, gave a bit more of a personal and immersive presentation overall. Much more prefer this than seeing the persons eyes reading off a script on a monitor. You have definitely earned a new subscriber here dude! Kinda shocked that you're just at 22K, would have thought atleast 100K by this level of production quality. Absolutely well done sir!
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback and compliments. So the script part, I actually write it all out and memorize it before going on camera. I have 10 years of acting background and that's where that skill came from ;)
@@hardlinenexus Well how about that... that experience definitely shows, well done 👏 Keep up the awesome work, will definitely keep an eye out for future videos and hence be a returning viewer 😊
Yeah still true. It's not a lot of room for it. The only way I was able to achieve what I did is because I'm a modder and designer. Had to do something that the normal user wouldn't be able to do so it doesn't really count lol.
@hardlinenexus Yes, I know you mentioned a custom bracket for the radiator, but I was wondering about the white bracket between the CR240 and the fans. Is it a bracket included with the CR240? Sorry if I missed it.
@@hardlinenexus awesome, I am. I am going to wait for the next gen of AMD's to be released and then hit you up one here once I purchase the case via your channel so you get the affiliate credit. Thank you!
Some people have asked about it too, so the current design of the bracket isn't perfect and I think it can be better. But I have to redesign it, except I don't really have the time to do that right now. When I do end up doing it, I wouldn't mind uploading a link for people to download and get it made themselves.
great video - thank you for your detailed build and presentation - hard to find youtubers that i dont immediately just close the videos on. How does it stack up with other cases you've done so far?
@@hardlinenexus could you give me some of your favorite cases to look into then? Would be cool to compare to this one, as i think that the evolv x2 is already pretty sick.
I don't believe so, I just watched Jayztwocents build with it, and he showed with a standard thick rad in the top section, there is approx 10-12mm space to the top panel, but the top panel has the inbuilt dust filter that protrudes inwards, so I think it just fits a standard thick rad :/ not 100% on that though.
Well, I've listed the limitations of the radiator at the top, so if you know the dimensions of your specific cooler/rad and certain details like the refill port I mentioned, you'll have an idea if it fits.
Great review and the visualizations of fitment are crucial. General question, does setting up a radistor fans as pull only or push only make too much difference? I was thinking of this case but doing a top rad where the radiator is on the bottom side of the bracket and fans on top but am worried it will be less "efficient"
Thanks. But AIO thermals is not a very interesting test to do or see in this case though. This case is still very much a breathable mid-tower, any 360 AIO would have been fine on any CPU. In fact, AIO thermals here would not tell you much about the case at all, it would just really be an answer to how good the AIO itself and the fans used are to the specific CPU. 9800X3D already been out for a long time and there are tons of tests done on it with a wide range of coolers, there's nothing new about that. The custom loop here however provides an answer to a proof of concept that is more meaningful as it addresses the concerns of the case features since this is a review on the case itself. Hope this makes sense.
I used EK's navy blue premixed coolant, but in real life it doesn't look like this, it's much darker closer to navy. I color graded in post to make it look this way. If you wanted this color exactly, I would recommend buying that navy blue coolant and mix it with clear coolant in the right amount so it's a lighter tone like this sky blue look.
9:36 I 100% deducted points for been a poor water cooling case. The fact is that it is just a less versatile case because of it. Just like a nr200p v2 is less versatile than a nr200p.
If you mean less versatile because not all AIO could be used with tubes running down either direction, back or front, then yeah sure I deducted points on that too. But I think deducting points on a design that wasn't meant for custom loops would be unfair though. That's like deducting points on an NR200 for not being able to hold a 360 rad haha. Wasn't meant to.
I feel like if i got the X2 I would ditch the glass side panels and I was wondering why I felt that way and I just realized due to this video it's because of that curved brushed aluminum at the top. It was bugging me for the longest time because I couldn't grasp what was off. If they made this without the glass and with curves on the bottom I would like it as an open chassis.
You can still run this open air case. In fact, I'm a huge enthusiast for open air builds. If you wanted to clean up the edges where the glass panel would slide and mount onto on the top and bottom, you can easily do that with simple DIY methods.
The HAVN seems to be the most compared case to this X2 based on what I've seen people say. I personally haven't played with the HAVN extensively, I have seen it briefly in person and I will say the quality is better, but it's also $40 more or so. However, that $40 could be worth it.
It's so sad that installing a 360 radiator at the bottom is impossible. Probably it's possible to install 240 but it won't be looking great in that case
Hahaha, ''a stepping stone to something greater"?🤔 btw, good real-life scenario tests on the headphone jacks position and the power button position..just noticed the jacks and power button of my Fractal case are on side-by-side..
@ Should be. I personally haven't played with any Hyte cases. The only time I see it without the green is when the tempered glass is tinted. The green is really the default native color when glass is made. Like even look at glass bottles, glass table tops, glass on your car and anything.
The most detailed review i've seen so far for this case! And at last someone who checks the custom loop compatibility of a case!Great job!

Thank you! Yeah just a little bit of creativity and that's all it takes :)
@@hardlinenexus I'm amazed at the various builds doing a custom loop in the X2. This one takes the top spot for me.

Right. I know some people might ask that question if side vents were needed because of my 240 rad.
0:25 as he says in front of a custom loop

I mentioned in the video and showed it.
Love the review bro!
I was close on this one but settled on the Lian-Li SUP01 due to price deals at MC 😂
Love the build! Can you tell me what brackets you are using to attach the pump/distro to the fans? Could really use them for my NV7 custom loop :)
What bracket did you use to mount the CR240?

And for the record I’m going to be building in this case with rear facing connector so I wouldn’t mind the bracket being close to MB as it is either
Incredible review, thanks. Do you personally think its gona keep up with 5090 dumping the air into it?
5090 will still be fine.
@@hardlinenexus Thanks! One anxiety I have is that the connector won't fit or slam the glass panel.

Hey, can you mount an Artic Freezer 3? Or is there no room for the radiator at the top?

The freezer 3 is 38mm in height so it fits exactly. Although I've no idea if there will be issues with the tubing positions.

You can't fit the rad on the bottom side, it's tested.
How about the vertical gpu mounting? Is it possible?
Did you watch the whole video? lol
Cant find X2 AIO cooler anywhere where can I get this?
@@WarlikeDistress I don't think it's released yet. Or maybe they just don't have stock yet on the Phanteks online store

Good attempt at a case, bit their design just isn’t functional. Too small and restrictive. Form > function
