    Excellent. I was at Glienicker Bridge just last week and it jogged my memory of the Abel/Powers exchange story. A fascinating insight into his earlier life.

    What exactly did the contents of the stolen security documents contain and how are the levels of stolen spied on documents assessed for the UK INTELLIGENCE AGENCIES to set imprisonment terms for?

    The explanation about his capture makes little sense, because Moscow knew or at least should have suspected Häyhänen had blown the operation and Abel had to leave in a hurry leaving the $$$ behind and did not steal it, hence no need to execute him for it. Also a spy of Abel's caliber does not make amateur errors like bring a character such as Häyhänen to his NYC studio.
