Since the 4070 ti super is almost as fast as the 4080 (often only 5-10 fps difference) and the 4080S isnt faster then the older one, there is absolutly no reason to spend the price up for the 4080. Buy 4070 ti Super or 4090. 4080 feels obsolete.
Interesting, wonder why the S model uses mostly has lower Vram utilization, lower cpu% and lower GPU% even with that slow ram speed. It will be nice when we are giving machine parts that saturate 100% of the GPU00%, 100% of the time/ instead of bouncing around and never hitting 100%. All companies have production branding at the end of life and or at the end of the line of Chips, we got to see this experiment with the first generation of LGA1700 Mother boards as the board lasted through 3 rebranding's of a single CPU line. BTW you should do a video that uses the same parts with the exception of replacing the ram from that speed to at least 6400Mhz to see if we were fed a line of BS to the advertised promotion showing that speed increase would yield close to an 8fps gain @4k. with your next speed tests, unplug that old spindle drive and rerun the tests, to see if the mother boards still have the problem, they had 10 and 20 years ago on how a 2nd drive being plugged into a sata port effected CPU cycles. If they did not capitalize on the dollars spent no one could play with these god-awful AI generated hacking programs. So looking forward to text to AI generated movies that end users will be able to create on their very own movie machines in real time. Best guess under 5-7 years the average person will be able to write an entire 1 hour script and have their 9090 ti super have a full motion movie/video that will rival what took Hollywood countless millions to produce. This parabolic revolution in AI GPU's just in the movie/ video industry, I don't really think the average person can grasp how many people will end up being replaced with grains of sand.
the 4080 super refresh uses slightly faster memory which explains the lower vram usage. Also you never want your gpu to be at 100% usage otherwise you get latency problems with task queing. Even at 99% which is the sweet spot, it's impossible to make it run at 99% all the time because things are constantly changing in real time between high gpu stress scenarios and low stress gpu scenarios
