A lot of chatelains et chatelaines are connected to each other because of the UK Tv shows " Chateau DIY" and "Help! We Bought a Village" so that accounts for a lot of the support for The Brits. I think the Brits might be overwhelmed with the American sarcasm. It makes me laugh, because as a person from the Midwest, I couldn't imagine living in San Francisco, but France makes sense. Your home is really Big, and the surrounding area is large with other buildings. The definition of a chateau was great, live the life and you learn the correct meanings. The best way to find out what you like is often done by checking off the things you don't like or want. If you both look at that way, then I believe you're a success at being a chateau owner in France.

Also, how non-EU citizen Americans would expect to handle health insurance and residency. With a busy work life, we are all limited in how much we have time to socialize. Therefore, in my opinion, that is why many of us don't have so many friends. Enjoyed your back story! Whether manor house or chateau it looks awesome and I love all the animals! You 2 seem to have such a great relationship and work so well together. And just the calm of your vlogs is nice. Well done!😊

Coming from another West Coaster, I appreciate your grounded humor. I keep dreaming of moving over there too someday. Until then I'll be binge-watching when I'm not doing my videos for my channel. As a professional Florist and Certified Master Gardener, I'm jealous of your garden space. Love it!

So refreshing to see people doing this who are NOT British! Thank you for answering all these questions, I admire your calm attitude in the face of everything that your new life is throwing at you - a great sense of humour helps!

I think this q&a is very helpful to your viewers. You two are already endearing yourselves to the audience. The animals don't hurt...at all...those faces ❤😘
I look forward to each video.
    Thank you.

This was so good! Thank you! I’ve been watching a lot of channels from people who moved to France since 2020 and I have spent many many hours looking at properties online, but then I tell myself I’m probably romanticizing the whole thing, so this was so helpful! I’ve been watching all your videos and I love it! It feels like hard work but you’re happy, and this video confirmed it 😊 thanks for sharing it with us !

Thank you that was a fun conversation. Our city is a sister city (LeBourget, near Paris, the past 30+ years,)we have many friends there, been back & forth, MANY times with them. It been interesting watching a American family create a new home/ life in France. Thank you for sharing! 💞😊 Karen from Little Falls, MN. ( Charles Lindbergh is our city connection.)- I became a u tube junkie since Covid, watching, U.S.,British, French & Canadian chateau owners. So much more interesting than sitcoms.👌🏻😊💕

The questions and answers were very interesting. I live in a very old farmhouse and I find that people think it is a fairy tale existance. They don't understand when I tell them that layers are the key to living here - you can't beat an aran jumper.

Stephanie of “The Chateau Diaries” is a lovely person and has a chateau in France. She has a lot of volunteers stay at the Chateau and work. She is a people person and evidently doesn’t mind having lots of guest. She is bubbly and a very happy person. She has a Utube channel also.

To viewers : about the name "château", "château" and "castle" seem to be the same word in French and in English, but their meanings are actually different, like "Manoir" and "Manor" 🙂 They are what we call "faux amis" 🙂 In French, it is not the size of the building which determine its name. It is not neither a "manoir" since a manoir in France is the central building of an aristocratic agricultural holding ("manoir" is a name only used in Brittany and Normandy). So yes, Amanda and Lincoln's place is a "château" 🙂

Great video. The price difference is crazy. Canada is similar to US, in many cases even higher…like gas, and I salivate at the European prices. Wow, I knew you had several cats but showing them all on the screen showed way more than I realized. Good for you!
