Dr. Dray!!! Look what you have done! Have you any idea!?! You have created such an amazing community of suncreeners. We are no longer afraid of the White Cast and we are communicating with each other. I can't thank you enough for all your knowledgeable information. You should be so proud of what you are doing for us. Much love!

Your skin looks fantastic! I can clearly see that it’s firmer as well. I’m so grateful that one of your videos was recommended by RUclips and after watching it, I was hooked! I can’t thank you enough! I counted the ingredient list of one product I no longer use and it has 78 ingredients! No wonder my skin was a mess and sensitized. You’re the best,

I have an idea that might be useful for your channel. If you’re planning to do a sit down video on a certain topic maybe put an announcement a day or a couple of days before on your Community tab on RUclips. That way we can ask you some questions on that specific topic. Then when you sit down to record a video you can take maybe 5 mins to quickly scroll through and answer anything that may be important to include?

I suffer from hormonal acne. I am currently using Cerave foaming cleanser, as my face is extremely oily. However, since my acne is acting up, my dermatologist prescribed me Taxorac cream. I haven’t started using it yet. However, I am thinking on using this skincare routine:
AM- Cerave hydrating cleanser, la roche posay spf moisturizer, neutrogena hydroboost
PM- Cerave foaming cleanser, neutrogena hydroboost, cerave moisturizing cream (or would PM be better??), then taxorac.
Your feedback would be amazing and HIGHLY appreciated. I love your channel so much. You seem like such a sweetheart!! ❤️❤️

I have never encountered such a helpful channel. I watch and follow about every single “skincare savvy” on this site and you are honestly the best. I used to use the 7 step skincare routine but I now use Cerave face wash with salicylic acid and the Cerave moosturizing cream and my skin has never been more smooth and hydrated and not irritated. Thank you for your informative videos! You literally changed my life!! I never knew how nice it felt to have a healthy skin barrier 😭

    • @liarluis

PS: my skin is oily/combination and that thick Cerave moisturizer that comes in the blue and white tub feels good even on my oily t-zone. Not to mention that skin oil is now under control (probably because I apply the moisturizer when the skin is wet?). Even at the end of the day, my skin just doesn’t get horribly greasy like it used to. Again, thank you for you videos and keep up the good work!

I had a question: I just had a PDT at my dermatologist's office a few weeks ago & I am grateful that there were no signs of anything bad going on. Would you please do a video to talk about the advantages of this type of pre-treatment? This could potentially help a lot of folks with a history of cancer on the face. Thank you!

Hi, Dr Andrea!!! I just found you yesterday, and I have binged SO many of your videos, (was up til almost 5 am, watching, lol), and read SO many comments, I can't remember of you addressed this. Question: may I use MCT simple as a cleanser/makeup melter before washing my face? Could I possibly mix a good avacado oil and grapeseed oil myself in a pump to use so I dont have to purchase a specific cleansing oil? Thank you so much for your videos; you have just changed my life!!! I am obsessed with skin care, probably too late. My father was red-headed, very porcelain, and freckled and NEVER wore sunscreen his entire life. The last 15 years before his passing last July, he had had over 1200 topical skin cancers removed, 3 of which were melanoma. The melanoma on his back was 1.5 lbs and took 8 months for his back to heal!! He also had to have his nose and one ear reconstructed after skin cancer removal. Anyway, my girls both look like Disney's Ariel or Merida, and I have slathered them their whole life. My eldest carries a UV parasol and gloves to use walking to her college classes and wouldnt be caught dead without at least one huge sunscreen in her backpack and car all year round...YAY! I appreciate your sunscreen education videos - UV protection is SO detrimental to EVERYONE's overall health, and I wish I had taken it more seriously for myself before now. All that to say thank you, thank you, thank you for what you do for the YT community!!

My Rosacea behaves much better these days and my husbands Seborrheic dermatitis and dandruff are under control! I am now considering embarking on using Retin A, but want to ease myself into using it, it seems there are many out there that suggest getting your skin used to it by starting with over the counter retinols first. Do you think there is any value in doing that? I looked into getting RetrinAL from Avene since it had some good reviews.

your skin looks really nice, much firmer! I have started to use retin-a 0.025 every 4 days...so looking forward to have a nicer skin and reduce my melasma. Stoped using hydroquinone because been using that for several months now. Do you use makeup? Would be nice to see a video about the brands you use.

I am not afraid of mineral oil. I used to use baby oil to remove my make-up (back when I still wore some, in my early 20s). It was lovely and never broke me out, on the contrary it was amazing for my dry skin. I also used to use sweet almond oil as a layer underneath moisturizer. It was recommended to us by my family internist (dry skin even as a babe). It's probably not THE best but it worked for me; and whatever works... is good for me. :)

Gina, I am so glad I'm not alone! :) I have been dry since I was a baby. Since the age of 3 (when our internist recommended it) I have been using sweet almond oil underneath the Nivea blue tin and it works (worked) wonders. When I turned 44, about 2 years ago, I started replacing the sweet almond oil with a hyaluronic acid, and that is the most amazing thing I ever did! It is so good! I use the one by The Ordinary (it's great) and also the one our Aldi put out (they had it on promo). I'm in Belgium, BTW. Aldi does some great products (skincare) here!

Marleen G. Hi Marleen! I’m originally from Spain and go back to see my family when I can. Sooo tempted to move back! You’re definitely not alone! I went through a short oily phase, but no acne or breakouts. Other than that I’ve had dry skin. It never occurred to me that I needed hydration, so I try to find products with any form of hyaluronic acid and/or sodium hyaluronate in large quantities. I’ve used some products from The Ordinary, but never the hyaluronic Acid. It’s so cheap that I’m going to test it out. The Ordinary product that works like a miracle on my face/neck is the AHA 30%+ BHA 2%. I order about 8 to 10 at one time! I’ve used Acids since they came out so it doesn’t bother me or irritate my skin. I use it 2X a week. It’s definitely a Holy Grail product for me.
Think we can find another lady, besides Dr Dray, who isn’t terrified of mineral oil or petrolatum?! LOL!

Hi dr Dray. Thanks a lot for the useful video! I have completely changed my routine after your advice with great results. However, after taking oral Isotretinoin my skin have become very sensitive (I am still on a low dose and probably be for some time) so I cannot at all tolerate something like Tretinoin even at a lower concentration. Are there alternatives to it? Thanks a lot from all of us for great advice!

I started using a moisturizer 1st then about 15 minutes later follow with Retin A and hydroquinone. I've been doing this for a few months. It has been so much better doing it that way versus the Retin A 1st. I have no more peeling or dryness. I do hope it's absorbing.

Hullo Dr. Dray , loved your am pm routine video , as I had mentioned earlier , I am from India and most of the product mentioned in your video are not available here. So I follow your routines diligently going strictly by ingredients. I am 60 + and I sincerely thank you for the detailed videos which I follow. I noticed you are not applying hylaraunic acid based cream at night only a light moisturiser , will try that , as here in Delhi also it’s very hot and humid. I have been using tretionin .1 alternative days for 2 months now and no peeling or flaking . Your advise please shall I start applying daily ?

I love your skincare routine videos and your explanations! So much useful info. Speaking of simple, clean products, happy to report that L'Oréal has done good by us, Europeans, and finally made CeraVe widely available in EU drugstores 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 they've changed up the formulas a bit (from what I could tell comparing to the US site ingredients list) -- nothing too crazy, they've just removed the parabens (probably to calm down all our unfounded skincare phobias lol), as well as replaced the surfactants in their washes with some gentler ones. Pretty impressed overall, I was afraid L'Oréal was going to start putting fragrance in everything as per their usual.

Hi Dr. Dray - you are the person I had always wished existed on RUclips, and you do! Thank you so much for all your incredibly helpful videos. I was wondering if it’s okay to add facial oil after using retin-A - my skin gets very dry and peely so I was using it to help moisturizer about 10-15 mins after application of retinol, but I’ve read online that it may cause the retinA to lose efficacy. Is that true?

Do you recommend Vaseline for dry eyelids? My eyelids become irritated by coconut oil and mineral oil they become red and scaly. They are so dry. Your skin is looking great!

    • @isabelfa3338
      @isabelfa3338 6 лет назад

Hi! I'm no dermatologist but I have the same problem; as a spot-treatment or maybe one night every week I'll put some vaseline in my eyelids and lashline to make washing the flakes off in the morning easier; daily, though, a scent-free, barrier-repairing eye cream hydrates the area pretty well. The thing with vaseline is that it seals the surface and smoothes it but it doesn't hydrate it, so I'd say try this routine?: a nourishing eye cream, an eye-loving creamy cleanser and vaseline as a now-and-then kinda treatment.

Do you approve of Ponds cold cream cleanser to remove makeup? It's a mineral oil and beeswax base. I've been using it for a while to remove makeup and it works like a charm. And it's it's only $5!

Jennifer Smith I was wondering the same thing. There are 2 Ponds cleansers. One of them is much more lightweight than the original cold cream and has a lighter green cover, but has fragrance. I may go to CVS and try the smallest size.

I'm pretty sure I remember her mentioning in another video it's not a bad product (or maybe it was mineral oil in general) it just contains fragrance which serves no purpose. I agree though, it really is effective at removing makeup with ease! I do find with my skin I need to use a damp cloth to get the excess residue off or it's just too much on my skin.
