Epic is an understatement. What a incredible job bro. Your such an inspiration and gift to spend the time and energy to share your pitches and settings... sequence. signal chains....etc etc... Your bad ass bro. wish we lived near each other to play. Im old school and having trouble with the whole computer thing. anyway thank you I can wait to shred this song myself. Any suggestions on practice with certain modes or patterns would be greatly appreciated. BTW Im in love with Alissa '. Please Don't hold it against me.
Brett Lee thank you! I raised it a little to get some fret noise out but I think I can go one step heavier for string gauge before cranking the action up any higher
Nice job, sounds awesome! Curious, how did you switch to the section with the low B sound? I noticed you hit the simple pitch button, I'm assuming this a pitch shifter that detunes the whole guitar down a half step? Is this how Arch Enemy does it on stage? Thanks
Sean Whitworth thank you so much! Yeah so there's physically no other way to play the song in 1 tuning so I would assume the Michael Jeff and Sharlee are using something like a Digitech Drop for that part. It's easily switched on and off and is one of the best drop tuning effects around at the moment. Very transparent and intelligent in note shifting. That's how I would do it if I didn't have the Helix
Did you ever get the Friedman ASM-12 or try one out? If so, what do you think of it? I'm trying to decide between 2 ASM-12s in stereo or a Line 6 Firehawk 1500 as an FRFR for my Helix. Do you have an opinion on those two choices?
Shredfantom I unfortunately have not been able to try either. I continue to hear only good things about the ASM-12. I just don't have the space for it right now. While the Firehawk 1500 seems like a great stereo solution, I for some reason was never grabbed by the idea of it. Then again I laughed at the Helix when it first came out before I actually seriously looked into it. I'm glad I put my ego aside and went for it. As for cabs, I wish I could tell you this one or that one but I have nothing to go off of :(
Dan Capeau Chad Boston swears by the Firehawk 1500. There are are several things about it that appeal to me. It's loud; 132 db. Stereo wet/dry/wet. It has Bluetooth, so I can stream my own EDM compositions and play guitar over them at open stage night. It's a lot cheaper than 2 ASM-12s. You can buy a Line 6 official case with wheels and a handle, so it'd be easier to transport. If the Helix ever needs serviced, it's got a backup modeler built into it. However, the ASM-12 still seems to be the FRFR of choice for metal, so I'm torn.
WOOOOOOOW YOUR GUITAR PLAYING DAN IS AMAZING AWESOME!!!! YOU ARNE REALLY VERY TALENT OMG YOU ARE A REALLY GENIUS!!!!! JUST LOVE TO LISTEN TO YOUR EXCELLENT PLAYING..REALLY SAY IT FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY ♥ HEART TO YOU DEAR DAN..SUPER EXCELLENT♥ ♥ ♥ \\m//
I got the D'addario EXL140 Nickel Light Top/Heavy Bottom set on there but The low C is definitely a little floppy. I know Jeff Loomis uses 60,44,32,18,15,11 for Arch Enemy now
Cris Nadeau yup! So the song goes from c standard to b standard in the break section and then back to c for the last chorus and solo. It’s impossible to play the song in B standard so i did what I believe Arch Enemy does live and used the pitch shifter in my Helix to drop it a single step...worked perfectly!
Thank you so much! I would but the impulse response I used is a paid IR from 3 sigma audio and I can't/wouldn't upload it unless it was free. And without it, the tone would be vastly different.
If only I could afford that Helix. Its beautifl...
You deserve million likes! That was be amazing man, thank you!
The best cover
@2:52 So THAT'S how they go from C minor to B minor. interesting.
I love the lyric, but this cover it's amazing & epic... Greetings from Venezuela.
very good
Kickass! Nice work dude 🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥😁
Awesome cover!!!

Man! Sound fucking amazing!!! You can share or buy this preset?? Cheers bro!

You nailed it man!, I know Arch Enemy is difficult to chase, very fast riffs in their songs.
Richard warren 🤘🏻 thank you sir! Yeah they can be pretty fast but it's good practice for keeping left and right hands in sync at high tempos
Sick man! You did this song some justice and awesome tone 🤘🏼
ZaK Metal thank you so much dude! 🤘🏻
Are they using a drop tune effect on the bowl breaks part after the solo?
Awesome!
Kirill Boyko thank you!
Oooooh WoW . I love ❤️. This is so awesome 👏 bravoooo!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
michael deslongchamps thank you So much!!
Amazing playing ! Great job with the video as well ;)
VENO thank you so much!
FUCKING AWESOME !!!!
Wow! Nailed the notes and mutes, sic! Do you raise the action more?
Brett Lee thank you! I raised it a little to get some fret noise out but I think I can go one step heavier for string gauge before cranking the action up any higher
What guitar model is this buddy ?? Sick ass cover btw 🖤🤘🏼
MrChunksta thank you so much! Its the ESP LTD Okkultist
Bravo :)
man you really cool

Thanks, now I have to buy a Drop ;). I also think the EHX Pitchfork would do the trick now that I think about it.
Sean Whitworth yeah I think that would work as well. I'd say slightly overkill for a simple 1/2 step lower from C to B but it would work lol
Is there a download available of this patch? You've got quite a few on CustomTone, but I don't see this one.
Hey man, I didn't upload this one because it has a paid IR from 3 Sigma Audio but I can try to send you the patch without the IR if you like
@@DanCapeau That would be awesome! I would have thrown my own IR's on it anyway 😁
@@sXeSnowmansXe Shared to your email in your profile. Enjoy and feel free to ask me any questions you might have!
@@DanCapeau Cheers bud! Looking forward to playing about with it!
Dude this is awesome!! I'm actually thinking about making a cover myself. Did you use the original or did you make a backing track for this?
Thank you so much! I almost always use the original song because not every song has a full tab with midi arrangements. It's easier this way haha

hey man what's the string gauge you used when dropping to C tuning?
I got the D'addario EXL140 Nickel Light Top/Heavy Bottom set on there but The low C is definitely a little floppy. I know Jeff Loomis uses 60,44,32,18,15,11 for Arch Enemy now
Dan Capeau thanks for the reply man!! Also awesome play here, great tone totally nailed it
ShidongWang thank you kindly!
you changed your guitar tunning in the middle of the song?
Cris Nadeau yup! So the song goes from c standard to b standard in the break section and then back to c for the last chorus and solo. It’s impossible to play the song in B standard so i did what I believe Arch Enemy does live and used the pitch shifter in my Helix to drop it a single step...worked perfectly!
This is what I'm exactly looking for. I wonder how they play it live and this explains a lot. Thanx :)
Semih Boz glad i could help!!
why sped up solos tho
Nothing sped up here. Its the same tempo as the video version of the track
@@DanCapeau just look at the solos. his picking hand and facial expressions does'nt look natural, in my opinion it looks sped up.
Wow! Amazing.
Hey man could you share the preset?

I disliked because of you vibratos and bends.
