My wife and I were sitting about 5 rows from the field on the 50 yard line vs. #1 Oklahoma in 2010. When Mgafee ran back the opening kickoff I cannot adequately put into words how loud Faurot Field was.. I remember I couldn’t even hear the sound of myself screaming “GO!! GO!!” .. and when he scored we could feel the ground shaking under our feet. I teared up in pure joy. I’ll never forget it.
I was in the student section 9 rows from the field on the 50 yard line with as sign saying "HI MOM SEND $$". One of the best games of all time. The crowd was so loud on that kickoff return and rushing the field is by far one of the best moments of my time at Mizzou.
The last 2 years for Homecoming, they've used a white Block M, which is a design used in the middle of last century (wow, that's an odd thing to type), which has served them well. The Block M is tradition. It is still the mini-helmet displayed in my office.
Go MIZZOU I GREW UP WITH SOME OF THESE TIGERS WILLIAM MOORE DID MUSIC WITH MY LITTLE CUZZIN THE CLICK WAS CALLED DRAMATIZE ,ZIGGY HOOD WAS A HOMIE MY LITTLE BROTHER PLAYED HS BASKETBALL WITH KONY EALY IN PORTAGEVILLE MO. These are the best plays from the last 15 years and not of all times. James Wilder's td against Nebraska when he knocked a tackler out of his with a for-arm in his way into the endzone would have been number 1.
This is pretty good, but I kinda wish there was something from the 21-point comeback we had at the 2005 Independence bowl. Our comeback in that game started with a 98 yard pick six, and I think a better use of the #5 spot would have been that instead of tearing down the goalposts (not a play). Otherwise, I think you did a good job.
I feel like the Sonny Riccio to Victor Sesay fake field goal from 2003 needs to be on here somewhere. No one on the planet was expecting the ultra-conservative Pinkel to go for a fake field goal there and not just tie the game up with an extra point.
I was at the Nebraska game in the press box when they tore the goal post down, you wanna talk about the fastest trip from the press box to the field a nigga ever made in his life
This is the kind of shit that lead to Odom being the head coach, and to quote The Water Boy, "Oh! No! We suck again!" Odom should have been shit canned when Mizzou lost to Auburn in the SEC Championship. No defense should ever go into a 3-4 set up against a run team . Man coverage and make them beat you deep while loading the box. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose with it, but still they are not averaging a 1st down every god damned time they ran the football.
I feel like you have to include Marcus King and his 99 yard interception return in the 2005 Independence Bowl in this. Easily over Golden’s TD and wins over BYU and Kentucky.
Barry Odom screwed us. It was an utter catastrophy not to capitalize on the momentum from '13 and '14. You know coaching was a big part of the problem with his teams, because they'd always fuck up easier games earlier and then play better and beat respectable teams in November/December.
Where's the td run of the sikeston freight train? The most electrifying run ever. Or Mel Gray's catch for a td at Kansas in 1969? Come on guys. You meant in the last 20 years, right?
Gayle Messer this is me. yea i’m sorry i know i missed a lot of plays im not that old so i really don’t know some of the very old plays. i’m sorry but stay tuned for a part 2!!
@@ronreed0421 Thanks Larry. I am 64 years old. I remember my Mom watching a Mizzou and Jayhawk game in the early 60's. She hated football, but was worried about my dad. He was out in Lawrence at the game. At that time it was not rare for fights to break out at games. The game was probably in 1961. In 1969 dad was again at the game in Lawrence. The year before KU went to the Orange Bowl, but in 69 they were 1 and 9. MU was the Big 8 champs and on their way to the Orange bowl. A handful of kids from Mizzou jumped out onto the track with a banner that read; Missouri Orange bowl- Kansas toilet bowl. Well the fight was on. This was a regional televised game. I saw the fight on TV. I did not tell my mom. Anyway I thought you might get a little chuckle out of the story. I am not even going to tell you about the riot in 1966 at Mizzou's old Brewer field house. Later.
Look for the Georgia vs Mizzou game '21 game @ Georgia will be more of the same. Drink is building a Power House who can & will compete w/the big boys & not lose out in the end of games like then.
rhis is me btw the guy who made it just with my other account. i should have moved some of them up and taken out the goalpost one but i didn’t. i should have moved that one up but i think that kansas play is just the best because we beat ku and they are gay so i can see what you mean but i think a ranked win against ku is much better
Agreed. I have been watching Mizzou football since 1961, and I definitely think the strip sack by Michael Sam that led to Shane Ray's TD in the Cotton Bowl is my favorite play of all time. Second, though, is one that wasn't included here: Pete Woods' pass to Joe Stewart on third down and 12 from his own two yard line, for 98 yards and a touchdown at Nebraska in 1976 -- the second of three straight trips to Lincoln in which Mizzou beat the Huskers. Another good one would have been James Wilder's last touchdown run in the 1978 game in Lincoln, in which the "Sikeston Train" basically picked up a Husker defender and threw him out of the way while steaming toward the end zone. That one's here on RUclips. I like your other picks, though; great to include Josey's run, the Maclin return, the kickoff return vs. OU, Sasser's pass and the safety vs. KU. My only nitpick is that you misspelled Citrus!
Dallas Heltzell yea man i’m you so i don’t know about those ones in 1970 but i’ll be sure to watch them i definitely should have put that play higher up i kind of messed up the order a bit but it’s ok i put joseys run at #2 just because i was at that game and it was one of the best moments i’ve ever had at a sports game but thanks for watching and i know i spelled citrus wrong lol this is the video creater btw just my other account
I was and still am on campus every day. Nothing was "destroyed" or "irreparably damaged." The racism the protests were meant to highlight sadly still exists, too, it seems.
What's Missouri gonna do next probably be the second worst team in the sec east.. lose to every one except for Vanderbilt can we really call this a good football program Missouri fans I just don't see it..
It's still sad that Kansas has a major post season game win this century and Missouri doesn't.. that's when you know Missouri sucks at football cause have you scene how bad Kansas has been lately..
Why does the powerful sec conference even need this Missouri team.. their literally terrible at all sports.. I guess Tennessee and Kentucky, and south needed an easy win so they brought in Missouri that's the only reason why Missouri is even in the sec to begin with watch Missouri will be so bad they will lose to Tennessee by like 3 or 4 touchdowns like they normally do..
My wife and I were sitting about 5 rows from the field on the 50 yard line vs. #1 Oklahoma in 2010. Same deal here. I bought a ticket for an older gentleman who had been an MU fan his whole life and it was his first game. He was over the moon!

I’ll never forgive him for going 8-5 in 2018. That was an 11-1 team and nothing will change my mind. Easily would’ve been 11-1 with Pinkel
