I think this is fantastic guidance. I just would like to gently point out that sometimes starting a question with "why" can sound a bit judgemental and put someone on the defensive. Maybe using the phrase, "tell me more" would be a little more friendly. Otherwise, love your ideas here. 😊
Going to a big wedding today and didn't want to be like, "Don Corleone, I am honored and grateful that you have invited me to your daughters wedding... on the day of your daughter's wedding. "
Interesting. People I meet at events and parties run this gambit on me all the time. I always thought it was an interrogation technique by others to determine if you are someone they care to maintain contact with, you know...speed flush out what kind of job and friends you have, but now I see its a conversation starter. Are not I the fool. LOL. Thanks for this video and educating me. The technique works though. Always makes for a good intelligent conversation with a rhythm.
Thank you, Myka! I think these tips are SO useful for those of us learning social skills in our early 20s...I'm going to start practicing your tips with my family!
I have used this with every conversation since learning it from your book! Genius tip! Thank you Myka for teaching us the most useful tips to help us succeed! xo
I’m trying to think of examples for what I could ask other mom friends. “What did your family do to keep busy during the pandemic? Why is your pet snake so active? How did you get your children to not fall down the stairs all the time with no baby gate? I’m impressed at how well you can handle your little ones after such a busy day at work.”
Thank you for the tips! I have a question about the continental style. If you are eating a dish that doesn't require cutting (risotto etc) in a formal setting, do you just hold the fork in your left hand and forget about the knife? Thanks!
Your feed is so good. I follow you. Thank you for your hints. Do you know if there is a male pendant? Sorry to ask hope that is mot rude, but I have to young sons and I wish there would be male view/ feed..
Theres no TRICK..Be urself, Dont overthink things. Go for it. Also just know whats being discussed if u got an opinion, state it. Worse thing ppl can do to themselves is overthink about a situation. Improvise, overcome, and adapt
You could ask Where do you see the industry going, or Where do you see yourself in the next few years . If you ask where do you live it's obvious the answer will be one word, if you ask What do you do for a living you can also get a one word answer
Great video, but I don't agree on excluding "Where", as it could naturaly lead to an open ended question. Example: - Where do you live? - Chelsea. - How come you decided to move there?
I feel men need more training in this regard than women, because the burden of opening your mouth first always falls on the guys shoulders when it comes to dating and relationships.
Please never stop making these videos, they are so incredible and helpful!

Fantastic! PRO!!!!
Very helpful, thank you! Question, I have read, in some etiquette books, that it is not good manners to ask “what do you do?” Your opinion?
Thank you! Conversational skills are my biggest struggle because I’m shy and nervous in social gatherings
I love the WWHC! I’ve used a variation of it my whole life but prefer your set method. Thanks for sharing!
You are so welcome! I think the compliment part is key so it breaks it up a bit but also just makes the person feel good :)
Myka Meier yes, I agree! Then it doesn’t seem like a bunch of memorized prompts.
This has helped me so much that I shared it with my family! I always come back to this video to refresh my memory.

It's important to be confident.

How to politely end a conversation?
I love this!! Definitely a great idea for a future video 🤔 thank you for watching 💕💕
@@mykameier7474 I desperately need to know how to do this in both business and social settings.
Or how to know when to end it before it gets awkward.
Currently reading your book..soon ill be your student yes

YES! you got it. If you don't need the knife, you never pick it up to begin with and just use the fork, dominant hand, prongs up!
Your feed is so good. I follow you. Thank you for your hints.

Great tips
That was so helpful for me. Thank you! 🌈💙🦋

Helpful, as always ❤️
So glad you think so! Thank you!!
Hi, the links to your book on Amazon do not work. Thank you.
Hello I want to take your finishing course but can’t afford it :( any advice or any coupon please?
Great video, but I don't agree on excluding "Where", as it could naturaly lead to an open ended question. Example:
- Where do you live?
- Chelsea.
- How come you decided to move there?
Or where have you traveled? That is always a good conversation.
Good content. What about times when the conversation turns awkward, or the person doesn't want to talk about themselves? How to exit gracefully?
Love this idea for a video. 👏🏻 thank you for watching!! 💕
i love your channel please keep going!
Thank you! Have so many more fun videos coming up :)
Great tips. Glad I subscribed!
Me too!!! :) thank you so much
please do a review of anna bey's video! interested to see if you approve of her tips!
you are absolutely adorable!
takeaway: what, why, how, compliment
I feel men need more training in this regard than women, because the burden of opening your mouth first always falls on the guys shoulders when it comes to dating and relationships.
It can be so hard and nerve wracking to walk up and talk to people sometimes! Hope this tip helps!!
@@mykameier7474 yes but I assume you know what I'm referring to based on my comment.
