I originally purchased this wagon for a costume contest I entered as the famous CLARK GRISWOLD of the movie Christmas Vacation!

Wow! I cannot believe how healthy that thing is. I have seen so many of those things destroyed before the 10 year mark. My uncle had a late 80's sedan taurus. He claims it was his worst car but it's only him not taking care of it. LOL! This car is very well maintained. All I would do is apply some interior treatment better than armor all. Also I would give that thing a coat of Mothers 1,2,3 step polish and wax. That thing would look like it just left the factory.
Most people who owned Generation 1 Taurus's never changed the trans fluid or filter before 100,000 miles when you were supposed to do it every 30,000-50,000 miles. So people ended up having major issues.
Loved these 85 to 90 body style Tauruses. I also am a huge fan of the 83 to 88 Thunderbirds and 83 to 87 Tempos all had same ultra modern styling

@@CHASINGPROFITS Lol I don't know about that. My dad changed the trans on it 3 times 🤣. After the 3rd one he was sick of it & sold it haha.
They used an 89 Taurus wagon in Christmas Vacation.

These cars are so ridiculously hard to find today. I'm looking for a 1986 Taurus LX Wagon to do a restoration on. I want one with it least a Gray interior.

I found a white 86 LX wagon for sale in Craigslist not too long ago but it might have gotten sold. Already. Shame because I have almost enough saved up for it. I'll have to check for a response to confirm.
@@ironinquisitor3656 Are you still down to buy one? I live in Canada in the Yukon and I havea 1986 Ford tauras wagon but it has a broken transmission. My dad is a mechanic as he can fix it but you can buy it as it is if you want

I could see seeing that. I believe the car used in the Christmas vacation movie was a ford Taurus which the cut 1x2 and glued it all around the car. Take a look at the video of when they are going under the semi truck
