- As a result of several requests on my Instagram page, I'm breaking from the normal content and giving you a bit of a closer look at the CMP Round 3 Range Grade M1911A1 pistol that I received a few months back.
Details of the parts that are on this pistol as received from the CMP are:
* Remington Rand National Match frame
* Caspian slide
* Bar Sto barrel- serial numbered to the frame
* Novak sights
* Videki adjustable trigger
* Ed Brown hammer
* Fitted grip safety
* Extended thumb safety
* Standard G.I. wood grips
Let me know if you have any additional questions.
I would not have been to thrilled with that caspian slide ... great video. Nice work.
That definitely fits the part for being a Delta 1911.
Thank you. I appreciate the input.
I haven't kept up with the latest CMP 1911's, I didn't realize they had added a "range" grade - looking at your FOIA request, I believe I would MUCH rather have your gun than an all original gun that was sandblasted to death and and just a washed out gray lump. Great score !!!
I also got a range grade last year. Super happy with it, FOIA said it was a 10th SFG for 12 years
Are you in my CMP Range Grade Facebook group?
Thanks for stopping by here.
@@thecoltar15resourceI think so! Because I saw your post in that particular group! Mr. Smith gave you info on your pistol.
Love seeing this videos come out, I get all giddy seeing these pieces
@@Popeye21 I don't think I've seen Mr. Smiths comments. I will have to check it out. Thanks for mentioning it.
My first question is which one? There may be more than one Range Grade group.
Would love to see the FOIA on this one.
Looks like a nice shooter with a lot of desirable features.
Wow what a score!
Awesome looking pistol sir!!
Thank you!
Great score 😊
Pretty Unique Pistol 🔫 😮😊👍🏼
The partial "H" on the frame is actually a "P" proof mark. You have a textbook custom 1911 pistol. There's not much can be improved upon. On a today's custom 1911, it may have tritium night sights (front and rear), and a fancy paint job. Also, one can find a lot more grips choices than 30 years ago.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
That’s fascinating, thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I would want an original configuration.but your gun is nice.
Very nice !
SOF-D blaster❤
Very nice
Love it. Very envious.
Thank you sir.
Delta gun
That 1911 looks like it was modified for special forces, like Delta.
Do a FOIA, your frame is marked NM which is National Match. I bet it has an interesting history being rebuilt at Rock Island as well.
I did a FOIA. They would not release any history before 1999.
Ithaca or Remington Rand frame.
Very interested pistol. If you don't mind me asking what is the cost of one of these pistols?
Cost was 1k
I want to know how to order one of them that is what I want to know
They tell you on the CMP website.
thecmp.org/sales-and-service/1911-information/
They started round 4 and everyone is allowed 2 pistols now.
Yes sir, you are correct. Unfortunately, my purchase has been less than a year ago so I won't qualify for a 2nd purchase until I pass the 12 month mark from my purchase.
I would sure change out the sights into something hi viz.
You got a beauty.
What you have is a Vietnam era special forces 1911 which is pretty rare! Barsto were and still used for the Marines M45 up till 2017 until retired. Latest guns & ammo just did a nice write up on it however the slide was not a Capstan... just a standard Colt modified. You should look up the frame serial number in Colts register or Ithaca! It appears to be second generation frame maybe 3.
Very nice gun. BTW you should of showed the magazine and it's capacity
I dont like that!
