    I started back a year and a half ago after 20 years away. I love the aspect of self coaching and figuring out how to get better. Filming myself really shows what I am good at and what I need to work on. Bowling on the toughest patterns is a really easy way to find where I need to improve.

      Tomorrow, I'll film myself from the side. Should be interesting as I bowl one hand no thumb.

      I filmed myself. I have a lot of work to do when I get back to ‘offline bowling’ (KDB Bowling 090212). Got lucky with this shot.

    As a fellow bowling nerd, I really enjoyed this. The extra effort put forth to have those bullet points in the corner for each segment really helps drive the main points home.
    I’m a “rollover ball side shoulder” offender and that’s my #1 problem right now, so it always helps to hear that explained in a different way than I’ve heard it before.
    Thanks for the work you guys put into this presentation.

    This is a fantastic instructional video Jayson! I owe a lot of my form to Brad and Kyle and their great video about this very same topic. Understanding the timing of the approach, both for a 4 step and a 5 step approach, can really unlock a bowler's game. Great job!

    One thing I would add, is that power comes from your legs. Simo himself was quoted as saying he was focusing on his legs in his approach, so it's wise to listen to the pros. That power step before you plant is where the power comes from, not your arm. Trying to use your arm to generate power is how you defeat ball motion.

    Great video breaking down the bowling swing. All the pros you mentioned are certainly ones I would aspire to emulate and many others. Darren’s brother Michael Tang and of course Mike Fagen. A free arm swing is more difficult to replicate consistently than I thought. Trying not to muscle it is difficult for me. It’s amazing when done correctly, how much more power, speed and rev rate it creates. Great content Jayson.

      Ditto. I pitched fast-pitch softball, slingshot sometimes roundhouse or windmill so doing that starting at 8 and now really getting into bowling lm struggling big time with the relaxed shoulder and not squeezing..

    Great Video - Curious to know how you would get the swing away from behind his back ?

    • @RevItUpBowling
      @RevItUpBowling  Месяц назад +1

      It mostly have to do with you swing direction on the down swing and more importantly how much you shoulders open up. Take a video and pay attention to the balls swing path and your shoulders.

    • @RevItUpBowling
      @RevItUpBowling  Месяц назад +1

      Also, make sure you’re not pulling the ball down when you start the swing. A good indication that you may be muscling is when the ball gets behind your back. So you might be lifting your ball up in the back swing which can cause your shoulders to open up. Let the ball drop into your swing freely. Over exaggerate the loose arm swing. Be a noodle haha hope this helps!

      True I throw ablut 19 mph on release and I have a very compact swing.
      But he does have a point with it being very efficient. Using gravity and travel speed to produce speed instead of relying on body motion and arm.
