- I am as giddy as a child on her birthday!! I'm as pumped as Nemo on his first day of school! I'm as gobsmacked as Harry visiting Diagon Alley for the first time! Are you sensing my level of excitement??
I recently brought home an American Girl item I NEVER in a million years thought I'd own, and I'm so happy to get to share it with you :)
-Kristie (agtakesover@gmail.com and @ag_takesover on IG)
I would have been thrilled to have a playhouse like that as a child! My grandfather turned an old shed into a playhouse for me I loved it! My grandmother made tiny loaves of bread for me that I took out to the “playhouse “ for tea parties! Good memories!
Aw, what a sweet memory! I am thoroughly enjoying all these wonderful memories everyone is sharing!
What an awesome find. And so close to your house!! The special memories from the store and now more memories at your house. I am as excited as you for this.
I'm still pinching myself about how lucky we got! And I'm so touched at how happy people are for us. It is great to collectively geek out over something so wholesome!
I absolutely love your energy and excitement in this video!!!!!!!
Yay! I hope it's infectious :)
I have pictures of my granddaughter in that playhouse when she was little. She is in high school now. Such great memories! What an awesome find! ❤
Oh, I love that. I wonder what she'd think of this story.
@ I will share it with her. I’m going to email you some pictures. I had told you previously about my Tenney stage that I use for a Christmas Nutcracker scene, too. Fun video! I love your excitement.
Sent two emails.
I so enjoyed this video (and seeing your excitement) all about your great find! I'm so happy for you all! I had a little wooden playhouse outside in our backyard growing up. My daughter had the 1988 Little Tikes outdoor playhouse, and she loved it soo much! How lucky your daughter is to be allowed to have hers INSIDE! No spiders!!! Love that cute house.
LMAO - no spiders! It's funny - both she, her sister, and her Mama Grace are all anti-spider. I'm consistently the one who will scoop them up in a cup and take them outside. I've read that the spiders that live in your house aren't always able to make it in the outdoors but my thinking is that with my wife and kiddos' feelings toward them, they *definitely* aren't going to survive INSIDE the house, so it's better to let them take their chances at survival outside lol. I digress, but I'm so glad my giddy video brought up some great memories from your and your daughter's childhoods!
@@agtakesoverI love that you save the spiders! I do too unless it’s a brown recluse (usually it’s not).
Fantastic! Love how happy you are with this amazing piece of family & AG history!❤❤❤. You were meant to have this!❤
Oh, thank you so much!!
OMGee. My (14 year old) daughter and I are just green with envy! What a find...what a DEAL! I know your precious girl is going to make tons of memories in her new home.
It's really surreal to see it IN. OUR. HOME!
I always love the “hanging out with good friend” intro!!!!!😊
Most of us could use it at any time in our lives, but I think some times more than others. This absolutely feels like one of those times.
I love this!! And you are so welcome! ❤ 😊 I’m so glad you’re the one that found this and your daughter can enjoy it for years to come.
Me, too. I'm just pinching myself that we lucked out like that!!
I know what I'll be playing whenever I come over. It is so cool for all of you to have it for all the years of enjoyment and new memories you'll make in it.
Yep - you'll have to do a tea party up there sometime :)
I am so excited for you. What a cool find. It's so good to have things to keep us happy right now
A-freakin'-men!
Congratulations Kristie! I knew when you told us your store was closing, that you would end up having a great piece of it. Your family was meant to have it. When I was little I had a wood playhouse in our backyard. It had electricity and I could listen to the radio and even be out there at night with the lights on. I loved it so much. Here’s to making great memories. ❤
That sounds like such a wonderful childhood memory! I'm glad the peanut's new playhouse brought up some good memories for you, and I appreciate you sharing them :)
That playhouse is so adorable & fun! My daughter is almost six and she would freak out over it lol. She has the smaller version of the house & loves the Wellie Wishers! Such an awesome find for your little one :-).
Today she said, "I get to twin with my Wellie Wishers' house!!"
Wow that is so cool and what a great treasure for your daughter to have!❤❤. She is going to spend so many hours playing in it and make so many wonderful memories. So amazing!!❤❤
Thank you!! I'm just beside myself about it, in the best possible way!
In Northern Ireland we have a saying- If it’s for you- it won’t go past you! ❤
Congratulations and well done 👍 🎉
i love that saying😍
Aw, I love that! Thank you :)
Love this saying!!
Oh that is so awesome! And it looks great in your loft area.
Thanks so much! I'm beyond tickled and can't get over our luck :)
Fun video‼️ You have the perfect place for it! Thanks for sharing the adventure, it was meant to be with you guys.❤
Thank you so much! I still can't believe we lucked out like that!
What a great find!
It is a cute playhouse.
Thank you for sharing your story behind this video.
The older Dallas store had this playhouse.
Yeah, I heard they didn't keep it when they did the new Dallas store. I wonder where it ended up.
@ Would be cool to know if a collector like us got it or if possible a day care center got it, even if another Ronald McDonald or Children’s Hospital, so many places it could go.
Subscribed halfway through the story. Such serendipity!
Oh, yay! Welcome :)
I stumbled on to your You Tube and so excited to see your videos. First I am originally from NW Ohio and my first Doll was purchased at Columbus store. I am so sad to know it’s closed. I am now in FL and have a store here, hopefully not closing. I am an adult AG collector. I will be going back to watch your videos!!! Thank you for sharing this wonderful story 💕
Welcome!! I've wanted to check out the Orlando store but haven't had the opportunity yet. The current store on the chopping block is Charlotte, so *for now* Orlando is safe. Charlotte's closing almost a year to the day after Columbus, though, so I don't know what's in store for next February. Nashville and Orlando are gonna be the only smaller stores left. I think LA, NYC, Chicago, Dallas, and DC are all safe but they have shut down so many that I am mentally preparing for those to be the *only* 5 left at some point. If you want to revisit the Columbus store, though, I have several store tours (a whole store tour playlist, actually, including Nashville and Chicago too). Have fun playing catch-up with the videos (there are TONS!)
what a darling , imaginative , piece of AG to have ❤️🇱🇷
the colors in it , are so calming & other children coming over in the future will be so happy to a
beable to play in it !!!!
sounds like you got a ‘GodWink! 🔮🌈☺️
I'm so happy we have it - the loft is right outside the office where I work...right at the top of the stairs. I will see this thing SEVERAL times a day every day and it just makes me smile so much!
@@agtakesover Yay!!! that’s awesome!!
you have no idea , what your channel has done for me & makes me feel not so alone in this doll world
What?! This is amazing!! I’m so happy you all were the ones who ultimately ended up with it. This is so special. ❤
Aw, thank you - It will DEFINITELY not go unappreciated in this house!
This is a fantastic find! What a steal of a deal! Heck! I’d love to play in it myself! I know Miss 5 will have an awesome time!!! 🤟
Right?! The WWs playhouse will be forgotten in a basement no longer!!
This is the cutest thing ever! I would totally want this in my house. He he. I loved the whole story of how you found it randomly so close to your own home! Way to go. It looks wonderful and I’m glad your kiddo loves it too. 💕🥰
Our friend Kirsten (also an AG collector) and her partner were over for dinner tonight and even though she'd seen it in person plenty at the store, I was so excited to take her upstairs and let her see it IN OUR LOFT!! :)
Wow! That is so nice!
It's just so dang cool. All the good memories we've made with it in the store and now all the ones we get to make with it here!
So happy you have another piece of “your” store in your home! How awesome is that?! Be ready to be the favorite house of your kiddo’s friends, lol. Enjoy 😊
Hilariously, the little one had a play date yesterday and they spent like two seconds in it. But in their defense, they were VERY intent on playing Barbies in the Barbie-sized dollhouse in her room. But yes, in general she is loving it and I know she and her friends will make lots of good memories in it.
I loved the excitement and build up in your video even though I had a clue what the item was (thanks to you FB post lol). I’m SO happy you’re little one has this piece. Gosh so many memories coming. It reminds me of this camper monstrosity from OneStep that I bought for my oldest daughter when she was 5. It lasted through 2 kids, more neighborhood kids than I can count, and so many wonderful memories. Believe it or not when the time came for me to get rid of it I sold it on marketplace for the same amount of money I paid for it 14 years earlier - nuts! The new owners drove 2 hours to get it and even sent me pictures afterwards of photoshoots. It seriously looked like Fred Flinstone’s stone car lol
OMG I love that story! We had to move an electric fireplace/TV stand to make room for this and I think we're going to sell it on FB Marketplace (where we bought it a few years ago) for the same price we paid for it, too lol. Gotta love that.
Ok so let me start by saying OMG THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!! From the fact that it’s the ACTUAL house she grew up playing in to the fact that it was so close…😊😊😊
As for us royals helping….Happy to help 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah, I think one fun thing it's prompting is pretend play where we ARE the Wellie Wishers. When she played in it a few years ago, she didn't know enough about the characters' personalities and hadn't discovered that sort of pretend play yet. Now, she's familiar with the cartoons and we've read all the WW books to her (most of them more than once) so she has a much better sense of their personalities, so it makes sense for us to pick characters and act out scenarios :)
@ awwww that sounds so amazing 🥰🥰🥰
Before watching this, I thought you’d gotten the AG X Kidcraft dollhouse. This is even better! What a find! Congratulations!!
DC is my local store. I don’t look at WW very often, but there has always been a playhouse in the WW area. Whether it’s currently this version or another one, I don’t know.
I probably wouldn't have gotten the Kidcraft house - even at $100 lol. I was not impressed with how the display one held up to play at the store. THIS playhouse, on the other hand, is in amazing shape given all it's been through!
@@agtakesover Plus that kidcraft house is HUGE! Completely impractical as well.
I love your enthusiasm!! It’s contagious!! I never saw this Wellie Wisher house before. It’s so cool, and how special that it was from your American Girl Store!! I would have loved it as a child, and can see why you, Grace and your daughter love it!! I think it’s a great idea to frame the pictures of your daughter in it from the store!! I also think it’s great that your older daughter is sharing the excitement with your little one!! Love this video!!
Being told my excitement or joy is contagious is one of the highest compliments. I'm so happy to be reminded that those things can be infectious :)
What a cool find!
Yeah, I'm going to be obnoxious about it for a WHILE. Everyone who comes over is going to be subjected to being dragged up to see it and to hearing the very cool story of how it came to be in our loft. Sorry not sorry lol.
@agtakesover bahaha no apologies needed! It is a lovely memory for your lil family & I love that for you guys 💖
Absolutely amazing purchase!! SCORE!!! Unfortunately, they got rid of the Willie House at AG Place Chicago. They also got rid of the Historical interactive cases for the Historical dolls on the first floor. It’s really sad. The new layout feels so empty and cold.
Really?! Someone told me the WW house was still there when they went a few months ago. That's so sad, if so.
DC store still has the house! And I'm sooooo happy for you. I f***ing love the wellie wishers- my kids and I watch the cartoon at least once a week
The theme song has been stuck in my head non-stop lately!
Congrats what a cool thing to get !!! It looks so cosy. And sooo cool for your daughter to have her own home That is so magical at that age 🤩
It's fun - she had never wanted to pretend we were the actual WW characters until I brought it in. Now I'm getting good at being Kendall in a hurry :)
This is so amazing ❤❤❤❤ thanks for sharing this story with us!! So happy for the kiddo I’m sure she is ecstatic!
It is so heartwarming to see my excitement is contagious :)
Like....Wow! So happy for you and your darling daughter! What fun for your whole family! ❤
Thank you so much!! I'm still pinching myself :)
What a lucky little girl she is! I always wanted a playhouse as a child. I still do. 😂 The Wellie Wishers playhouse is so fun. DC still has theirs out, at least it was still there at the end of 2023. I didn’t go last year. I remember Orlando had one, too.
You are bringing AG Columbus to your house! How cool that you have the birthday throne and the playhouse now! I wouldn’t have room for that house. I remember my kindergarten classroom (way back when) had a wooden playhouse that I spent all my time in. It was definitely the best part of going to school.
I am LOVING that this video prompted so many people to share their own great memories of playhouses in their childhoods. I'm hoping we create some lasting ones she'll be able to share with others when SHE'S an adult :)
It looks amazing! I’m so glad you were able to get it! 😃
Thank you!! 😁It's probably a bit crazy to bring in something so large, but we have the room and life is too short to say no to something so cool ;)
Sounds very exciting. Happy for your daughter.
Thanks so much! She's pretty thrilled. (I am at *least* as thrilled as she is lol)
Oh. My gosh this thing is adorable!!!!
It really is! It brings back so many memories and we're making new ones in it already!
What a great find congrats. Your little one will love it❤
She's going to have so many fun memories playing in it :)
This is so amazing!!! ❤❤❤.
Right?!? I'm so geeked out!
Great video, I’m so happy that you were able to find it
Me, toooooo! How did we luck out like that?!?
Congratulations on getting the house it was meant for you. My girls loved play In that house in the New York store. I was thinking you have a mini Columbus store in your house between the chair and the play house.
It's funny you say that (about having a mini-Columbus store). We've been getting ready for a doll show in Michigan and gathering up things to sell there. Between all we have to sell, all the gorgeous displays, the chair and the playhouse, it kind of IS like a mini AGP!!
@@agtakesover good luck at the doll show. I really need to get serious about my collection and getting rid of duplicate items. As I have mentioned I have a gold medal in procrastination so here I am. Listening to you and your intentions have helped me at least organize the stuff so I know what I have. It is a start.
@@nailahvenable7989 I feel you - it's a lot of work! You can do it. Little bits at a time. As wise people say about a lot of different situations - "you didn't get here overnight and you won't get where you WANT to be overnight either". I'm keeping that in mind this year!
Too cool Kristie! I found a Willa today in the wild. (Do I have all 7 Wellies already? Yes. Did that stop me from grabbing another...heck no!) She is older and has everything but her headband. I also found, but did not buy, the Our Generation sleigh. It was $32 at the thrift store and I balked at eBay pricing but I think I will go back. They are a non-profit store and the proceeds are local. It has nothing but the actual sleigh but I like the idea of customizing the parts. So much fun. Tell Peanut I love her house!
Oh, that *is* expensive for a thrift store. But if they are fair to their employees and it benefits the community then that's reasonable. How cool that'll be! (and I don't blame you for getting a second Willa - you could always try your hand at rewigging one of them)
Oh my goodness 😮is beautiful I love it 🥰
I am so flipping excited. How did we get this lucky??
That's such a crazy story. You lived 3 minutes away. Mind Blown.
I know!! Like, there it was just sitting in a basement (forgotten?) I'm so glad I was a bit of a squeaky wheel and just can't believe our luck!
I actually got here from a different section of the Dolly community! I’m a Reborn doll collector… but I was an AG fan as a child. Mainly for Bitty Baby. She was and still is my favorite. And I still have a handful of my AG toys! Not Bitty Baby though unfortunately. I’m excited to see what you got though!!!
Nice! Well, welcome :) I occasionally watch Reborn doll videos and find them fascinating, though it's not a type of doll I collect. Our daughter currently has three Bitty Babies: Rory, Baby Michaelina (Jane the Virgin reference) and one whose name changes almost daily lol.
We went to Charlotte in July 2024 for my daughter’s birthday and they had the Wellie Wisher playhouse.
A couple people told me they were there pretty recently and it was still there. I wonder who will end up with that one. I'm so sorry another store is closing.
Soo cute😊😊
It really is. I'm so pumped!
So cool!
Thanks - I'm still pinching myself!! :)
That's an insane story actually. It only meant that it's for you and your family especially for your daughter. Imo, Wellie Wisher dolls are pretty underrated. I own Camille and she's really pretty in person! I want to own all of them in the future but I really want to have Emerson.
They ARE underrated! They're really so cute. Emerson was the last of them we gave my daughter (for Christmas this year).
@agtakesover oh that's so cute 🥺 I'm sure your daughter enjoyed Emerson's company and I do hope they have more adventures together in the future as well as with her other dolls ❤️ I really wish they will release more dolls from the Wellie Wisher line.
I love this so much. It was fate for you to get that house 🥹
Aw, thank you. It's just so wild that it worked out the way it did!
So awesome
Orlando still does!
I think I will give my challenges to the me of tomorrow to get what I want today. Thanks for the perspective.
I mean...it's definitely not always the best approach (like, don't spend your mortgage/rent money on fancy boots and burden tomorrow's you with figuring it out lol) but sometimes it IS a good way to go :)
She seems sooo tall!!!
Oh my goodness, she IS. She's so loooong!
Adore your hair!
Thanks - for the past couple of years I haven't loved any of my hair cuts (and I'm generally really laid-back about my hair). The past two cuts, though, I feel like we're gettin' back on track. Woot!
Im sure those houses were massed produced to some compassty and see how big the playhouse is I'm sure it costs a pretty penny for people to buy it and I'm sure it was very very overpriced and not a lot of people bought so theirs not a lot of them out in the wild
You think they were mass produced? I mean, they're pretty specific (not just the paint, but the structure itself and even have a cut out underneath the base to run a cord for the electronic game thing that was near where the playhouse was set up. I'm pretty sure these were made specifically for AG, so there would only be as many as their maximum number of brick and mortars (minus a few, like Denver, that apparently never had one).
Today's my birthday and I'm looking on eBay at a pleasant company doll I got birthday money spend. But I am wanting to get the switch 2 when it comes out
Happy birthday!! Also, it's funny you mentioned the Switch 2. I'm not a gamer at all but two of our friends were over tonight and we were talking about budgeting and they happened to mention Kirsten wanting the Switch 2. Must be an exciting thing for gamers!
