Macho had way too much star power to stay in a small territory like Mempho, him not staying there for too long and going to New York was the best decision he ever made.
Going to Memphis made sense, since at this point Savage was considered outlaw. Going to the legit Memphis territory was a step in the right direction (plus it got his brother and father some paydays). But yeah, by 1985 it was clear WWF was the place to be.
