Yeah people seem to ignore the fact that hand made gifts show this person wanted to spend their time on you, something more valuable then sliding a credit card
That’s such an amazing gift! For one of my wedding showers in 2001, my bridesmaids took me to a “paint your own pottery” place during the day and everyone made us a set of coffee mugs and saucers. Each piece had a “wish” for my husband and me (happiness, family, passion, love, friendship, etc.) written on it and then decorated any way they wanted. They don’t match as far as the sane color, but the theme unifies them. I will celebrate 23 years of marriage this September and my husband and I still have these pieces displayed in a china cabinet and we use often. It makes me feel connected to my best girl friends and makes me feel special. I remember (and still have and use) every single gift we received for our wedding. I think of the gift-giver every time I use something we received. ❤ My favorite items were the aforementioned cups/saucers, a nesting mixing bowl set and my teapot bc I use all of those items often and it makes me smile whenever I remember who gifted it to us.
That’s so wonderful. Congratulations to you and your husband. it’s so sweet that your friends made those for you and a wonderful way to remember and appreciate the loved ones in your lives.

Beautiful gift! And I love the positive comments about the handmade gift! When I made hand-sewn (professional level) gifts for family and friends, they just though I was being *_"frugal"._* So not true! Not only did the materials cost as much as a store bought gift, but I also in put hours of time into each gift. After being repeatedly slighted, I sadly stopped making anything by hand. 😞
Sigh... I have a handmade dress and skirt from my sister. They can't fit me anymore, but I still kept them because of the thoughtfulness. In the meantime, I've given away plenty really nice clothing that I bought, but these 2 I'm keeping.
That's terrible. Don't let others break your joy. I find crafting something beautiful to give to others so therapeutic for my own happiness. You could do what the lady did in this video and advertise your creations. At least that way the clothing would go to someone who appreciates it. Plus, you could pocket some money along the way.
Same for me. I used to make many of my clothes. They were quality items, so much so that people asked me to make clothes for them. I did a few, but their attitude was that since they were "home-made" I shouldn't charge much. Needless to say, I stopped sewing for people. The last thing I made was a wedding gown and veil for the daughter of a lady I worked with. I even covered her shoes with the sequined lace material used for the veil. I kept up with my time. 80 hours. I said "No charge."

I made a chip and dip platter for my parents 25 wedding anniversary. When I was in high school. The dip bowl interlocked into the platter. We had a color my mine type class. I wasn’t in the class but my art teacher signed the slip saying that I could go in and do it. I painted my parents wedding colors in stripes in both the platter and bowl. It took almost 2 weeks for the first curing of the paint and then it was in the kiln for 12 hours and then cooled and set and then glazed and cured for a week and a half then fired for a few 27 hours and then a full day to cool and it was finally finished and I could take it home. Thankfully the teacher gave me a box to carry it home in. And I wrapped the box at school. I was so scared driving home with it sitting on the floor of my drivers seat. I got home less then a half hour before my parents and hide it in my brothers room with his permission to keep it safe. Then it came time for their party and on Saturday evening. My brother carried it up with his and put it in the pile in back. So everyone knew that those were family gifts. My Dad had broke her original chip and dip platter on their first anniversary. So when it came time to open gifts my big brother knew how excited I was so he gave Mom my gift first. She at first thought it was store bought. Then she looked at it closer and she saw the stamp from the school on the back. And she said is this food safe and I told her I wouldn’t give her a chip platter they couldn’t eat from. I have a chip and dip set that was handmade with our names and date. We've been married for 15 years. I used it for the first time at my son and DIL baby shower last month😂. I never wanted to use it because i was afraid it would be broken.
Aww. Use the ceramics, I use mine all of the time. Little Chips might happen, you can sand the edge or epoxy the chip back on. I use my hand-thrown pottery all of the time.
I think it’s beautiful. I love handmade things so much. I wonder if it’s hard or annoying to wash. Even if I don’t use it often it would be on display in some way.
Depends on if she added a coil to the inside of the seam as well as the outside probably. The less of a crease would be easier to wash than a deeper one
I find that people love and appreciate the high quality, handmade, unasked for gifts a lot, if not the most. I went to a baby shower recently and I made a family set of beanies because I was broke and all I had was yarn on hand. So I did 2 red for the girls in the family and 2 blue for the boys and they ended up being the mom’s favorite gift.

I texted one of my good friends and asked him why he had a Single Wooden Spoon for $5 or $10 on his registry instead of a set and he was like i dunno lolol and i said ...can i get you a whole set of nice ass utensils and he said absolutely but you dont have to. It is their most used item(s) from their gifts. I also got them FG mineral oil to keep them in good shape :) im a home cook so i said you gotta have the good stuff
I'd prefer this over any big box store items! It's extremely thoughtful and personalized. Plus, that friend would probably be so happy every time it's used!
I got married in 2021 and aside from a few key items here and there, the only gifts we still have are the handmade custom items we got. They mean so much more to us than the generic plate sets or spare towels we got, this is an amazing idea
Such a creative and thoughtful gift, it's homemade and made with love so it doesn't matter if it's in their registry or not, I'm sure they are going to love it because it's, unique, thoughtful, and specially made for them. This is an awesome gift, great job, thanks for sharing
If someone gives me a gift produced from a skill they’ve worked on and practiced, I would be over the mood excited and proud to be given such a gift. I know if I worked hard on something, I would have to think of myself as a master at my craft to be able to give something to someone else. It’s very brave to share something ‘intimate’ like that, and I hope nobody would be displeased with it!
This gift is not for people who have broken up, It's for people who are currently together and for when they are sharing quality time together on the couch. It's a lovely keepsake and a thoughtful gift they can enjoy together while watching a movie and eating some chips with dip. There are a lot of people projecting their own personal issues in the comments lol. The date doesn't have to be enscribed on it, anybody can buy one of these, its a CUSTOM order lol. You could make it write, "cheesepuff."
I’d take a handmade gift over a bought one any day. It shows thought has been put into their creation whether it’s immaculate or not I’ll always treasure it. This was an amazing piece I hope they love it.
I feel that the comment section speaks for itself. This would seem like a very special gift from one of my true friends for a wedding. However if your wedding is full of guests you barely know and are doing it for the show, then. I also assume their mindset is on how good their wedding gifts will be vs who it came from.
for me, if we had received a handmade wedding gift would mean more to us than an expensive gift. It means this friend belives in our friendship.

Her voice is so soothing
ITS ADORABLE, IM IN LOVE WITH IT ❤❤
I texted one of my good friends and asked him why he had a Single Wooden Spoon for $5 or $10 on his registry instead of a set and he was like i dunno lolol and i said ...can i get you a whole set of nice ass utensils and he said absolutely but you dont have to.
It is their most used item(s) from their gifts. I also got them FG mineral oil to keep them in good shape :) im a home cook so i said you gotta have the good stuff
That's actually really practical and pretty dope.
Gorgeous!! What a fabulous gift!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is the ultimate wedding gift
I'd prefer this over any big box store items! It's extremely thoughtful and personalized. Plus, that friend would probably be so happy every time it's used!
this is really nice
I wish you were my friend, coming to my wedding! Love it!
I got married in 2021 and aside from a few key items here and there, the only gifts we still have are the handmade custom items we got. They mean so much more to us than the generic plate sets or spare towels we got, this is an amazing idea
This would be something I’d be honored to receive!!!!😊
I don't know anyone who wouldn't
Love this gift!
handmade gifts are always more appreciable ❤ we all love handmade..
Such a creative and thoughtful gift, it's homemade and made with love so it doesn't matter if it's in their registry or not, I'm sure they are going to love it because it's, unique, thoughtful, and specially made for them. This is an awesome gift, great job, thanks for sharing
Pottery craft is so fascinating that it's like there's no limits❤
If someone gives me a gift produced from a skill they’ve worked on and practiced, I would be over the mood excited and proud to be given such a gift. I know if I worked hard on something, I would have to think of myself as a master at my craft to be able to give something to someone else. It’s very brave to share something ‘intimate’ like that, and I hope nobody would be displeased with it!
that is such a sweet gift!!
Plus it's two bowls. Just crack it apart...
(Joking joking) 😂
Anything you take your time to make for some one else means more than anything you can buy. Your time is the most precious thing to give some one!!!
So amazing, what a wonderful personal touch. You ROCK!!
I would love to get this as a gift!! I’m sure they will cherish it!! 🥰
I’d take a handmade gift over a bought one any day. It shows thought has been put into their creation whether it’s immaculate or not I’ll always treasure it. This was an amazing piece I hope they love it.
even if it wasn’t on my registry this is cute and fully acceptable if i get some handmade ass plates and bowls
I feel that the comment section speaks for itself. This would seem like a very special gift from one of my true friends for a wedding. However if your wedding is full of guests you barely know and are doing it for the show, then. I also assume their mindset is on how good their wedding gifts will be vs who it came from.
Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant. A piece like that is the kind of thing that most couples would keep forever.
I would have loved seeing it completed.❤
