I hate to say this but putting latex paint on a shiny surface like those shelves is going to make the paint peel really easily. A friend of mine got some vinyl flooring and covered her shelves with it and it’s incredibly durable and there are so many finishes to pick from.

Omgosh the dang kiln posts are so dang hard to store for me as well. Not a lot of room in my shed where my kilns are and they are always a mess. As a sewer and quilter I know that thread spool holders are so cheap!! But maybe if you were to reinforce one it might hold up a bit better or make your own.

All the planter comments feel a bit silly I thought it was like, common sense, to not put wet things near paper things if you don’t want mold?
